Symbolism of Maan Locked Up

I was thinking about the locked in a room scenario with regards to Maan's ML. His Amnesia is like a dark room in which he is locked up, can't get out and is suffocated. He resigns himself to the darkness (also what he had done before he met Geet) and decides to just stay there, but Geet can't have that! She storms into the office at all costs to unlock Maan from his darkness and bring light back into his life. Similarly, it is when he thinks of Geet and only then that he is eager to get out of the room. She makes him want to break out of the darkness!

It also shows that Maan can't break out by himself, contradicting his characteristic desire to do everything without any help. He is completely vulnerable and helpless in the confines of his dark mind and he needs Geet to help him from outside. He realises how much they need each other and how they are connected, even when they he is locked in this "dark room" of his amnesia.

Once she opens the door and turns on the light, she comes into his dark room, ie, into his mind which shows that even though he is still in the confines of Amnesia he has let her in to his mind, bringing light and air with her.

Samana - lovely symbolism-yes scene did have depth - but sometimes I wonder - does the writing for the scene give that edge or MG's presence render it so??

To be honest, I think it is a combination of MG's still convincing performances and chemistry, the detailed characterisation that was so strongly established in the hey day of the show and the poetic minds of incredibly intelligent fans, AHEM. 😉😆

Bravo 👏 Nice post.

Indeed Maan locked up was symbolic. And Geet unlocking the door was significant. Not only did Geet enter the room, she entered Maan's heart and mind.

Nice post dear and yes i agreee... The entire hug and scene preceeding and after it were symbolic... Symbolic of how they are incomplete without each other and how one compliments the other... How Geet is the ray of light for the darkness around MSK and how MSK can go to any extents just for Geet. The entire feel of their understanding for each other and their connection with each other is just too beautiful, serene and devine.
Also i fail to understand everytime how does their hug feel so different... Everytime you see that there is a smile on your face and you wonder how can i feel so good watching the same scene that they have enacted like a 1000 of times... Whats so different now... And the answer is nothing ... 😕
Magic of Maaneet / GurTi i say 😳
