Jyo, I thought this entire file incident was different from the earlier instances where Maan's perceptions of Geet were proved wrong. In those instances, when he had some misconceptions about Geet either on his own or because of NT, a third party had to show Geet's true nature to Maan. Either Dadi or Dev defended Geet. In this instance Maan was the one who placed his trust in Geet and handed the file which Geet lost in her carelessness. But this time, he did not get any lecture from anyone as to how Geet is a well meaning girl and her actions did not reflect her true character. Instead he heard for himself her genuine remorse and saw for himself the determination with which she set about reconstructing the file even though she had no clue what the original contained. She set out to achieve the impossible only because she wanted to retain that trust he had in her. Their relationship meant more to her than anything. She could have adopted the easy way out and admitted her folly to him. At the most she would have got another round of shouting from him. For a girl who had repeatedly been humiliated by him in the presence of his family and staff, it would not be anything new. In fact in this case she deserves his shouting unlike earlier instances when she clearly did not. But then she adopts the more difficult path of reconstructing the file for she was more worried that telling him the truth would nip the trust he had just started having in her right in its budding stage. She feared that she may not be able to win it back. Nothing can be more damaging for her than that. She'd rather forgo her sleep, burn her fingers if she has to, type till her fingers go numb and do any other thing required to get that file in shape for him. Now which man can resist such devotion and dedication? As they say God helps those who help themselves. Here MaanGod helps Geet when she helps herself.
