OS: A Walk To Remember

Hiya guys

kk, so last year i read this novel called "A Walk to Remember" by Nicholas Sparks. And well I really don't remember the story in detail buhh I kinda wanted to make an OS on that novel, well i changed around a lot of things buhh the story is portraying the same love story the main characters shared! And, and, and I'm not a writer.. and i certainly DO NOT re-read the things I write, cuz I usually fall asleep... LOL!😆 Wait that does not go to my assigments😳 Ya so anywho pls ignore my mistakes cuz well there isn't any other option😆 ohh ohh! pweeasseee press the like button IF you liked it and pwweasse, pretty pweease with a cherry on top leave ur comments. I don't care if it critisisms or just something stupid.. LOL! Wait I'm not that desperate! Wait enough of my stupid talk, READ, READ, READ! And ohh, read the novel too, I recommend it, as I'll be going to Chapters tommorow to buy that book. That book is worth reading a million times!❤️

OS: A Walk To Remember

"Maan!' Dev yelled, at his 'ignorant' friend who wasn't willing to have a date for prom.

Maan, Maan Singh Khurana the student body president of Richview C.I, was known as the most arrogant, angry, helpful and hottest president the school had ever had. His best buddy seemed to be after him to get a date for prom. Well first being his last year in high school, and second being the hottest topic amongst girls, there wasn't an option of 'NO'. Maan being the Angry young lad, hated the presence of girls. He hated everything about girls, and when he says everything, he means EVERYTHING. He defined girls as "Jealous, Overly s**tty, Clingy, immature, stupid, pathetic, gullible" oh and the list could go on forever!

"Uh, phhlease stop annoying me Dev! You know there is no way I'm gonna go out there and ask a girl out" Maan groaned, twisting the computer chair to sit on the computer.

"Shutup, you have to, It's gonna be our last year in high school and'. Urghhh you're just not getting it, are you?!" Dev yelled switching off the monitor Maan was engrossed in .

"Well, Prom is just in one day and everyone has a date already. How am I suppose to get a date now?" Maan said defeated, because he knew very well that if he didn't have a date he was heading to upset a heck of a lot of people, who loved him as the school president, and were very eager to see his date.

"Now you're talking! Don't worry, that's what we're heading out to do tomorrow!" Dev said happily, winking at his best buddy.

It was the next morning, and Maan as usual headed out to school early. Gotta say, being the school president wasn't easy. It meant going to school early, coming home late, conveying the student voice, controlling each and every department of his school and on top of that maintaining his grades.

Walking down the hall he noticed the presence of a girl sitting lonely against the lockers, reading a novel. Maan remembered seeing her at end of each of his biology classes. She was the only one who would be early for her next class. Call her a 'nerd' but she was extremely pretty. Her hazel eyes, shined out her innocence. Her skin was as white as milk. Her bangs would always fall on her eyes. Her lips looked so pink and soft. And' and her long slender neck'. was '

Before he could continue describing her in his thoughts, Maan mentally chided himself for looking at a girl so deeply. While resuming his walk down the hall, the question of whether or not the girl had a date popped into his mind. Well, she looked so quiet and 'not-so dateable'. Maan thought that he should give it a try, so he walked near her and read her name on her student ID. It spelt somewhat like 'G-E-E-T'. Sitting down beside her, he gently tapped her shoulder.

"Geet" Maan said softly as ever. Boy, he never talked to a girl this sweetly, or let's just say he never talked this sweetly to anyone!

Geet suddenly jerked away a little, as she was too engrossed in her novel, she didn't realize that there was someone beside her. She was reading a very famous romantic novel "A walk to Remember" by Nicholas Sparks. She absolutely loved that book and was reading it for the umpteenth time. She considered herself to be somewhat like Jamie Sullivan, the girl in the book, who was a daughter of a church minister and would always carry a Bible which boys didn't prefer. Whereas Geet would always carry a book which would never allow a boy near her. Like Jamie, even Geet had one parent, her dad. She was probably not who someone would want to go out with cause of her nerdy-ness but she knew there was a Landon Carter out there, just like there was for Jamie.

When she looked beside her, she couldn't believe her eyes. It was' it was the STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT! Why was her here? Does he want to punish me? Oh no, what did I do? Millions of questions popped in her mind, and she started becoming teary. Seeing the tears in her eyes, Maan realized he kind of frightened her a bit. He carefully wiped her tears away. Geet was totally shocked at the feel of his hands on her cheeks. Oh man, those cheeks were as soft as a rose petal! Maan thought.

"I'm sorry for scaring you." Maan said softly "I, uhmm, uhmm, I, errr, uhmmm, ahh was wondering it ahhh you errr would, uhmm wanna be my uhmm, err date for Prom." Maan stuttered, and sighed in relief for finishing his sentence.

Did he just, NO! Nuh-uhh! No! He just' OMG! Asked me to be his date?! Geet heart started pounding faster and faster! Seeing no reply, Maan continued'.

"It's okay if you already have a date, I mean.." Maan stopped as he heard her soft voice.

"No, I mean Yes. I mean No I don't have a date. I uhmm, uhmm" Geet couldn't finish her sentence, she was to shy to. Maan saw her blush. Oh god, she was sooo CUTE!

Smiling widely, Maan made it less awkward. "Okay then, I uhmm will pick you at at 4:00 tommorow?"

Geet sweetly nodded and started staring elsewhere. God! It was so damn A-K-W-A-R-D!

Maan smiled again and saw that it was almost time for class so he asked her if he could walk her to class. Seeing Geet nod again, He helped her take her handbag and got her up. It was so awkward walking with each other. People were there to give them the stare and it was just so WEIRD! And then they finally reached class, Gawd! It felt like hours walking with each other.

"So, we're here" Maan said as it put his hands in his pocket.

"Thank-you" Geet said every so sweetly.

Prom passed, Days past, and it became a daily routine for Maan to walk her to her class, even if they weren't in high school anymore they went to the same university and the walking to class didn't change. They weren't dating, but were just friends who'd talk about university stuff. Though Geet actually fell for him, she knew he didn't love her. Maan knew he was getting to close to her, and he didn't want to cause after all, he HATED girls. But there was something about her which just pulled him in. One day, they were casually talking and walking to class.

"Do you know Maan, I always had a wish just like Jamie did in the novel "A Walk To Remember" that I'd get married one day, and I would be dressed as a beautiful Indian bride, and there my dad would.." before Geet could continue she was rudely interrupted.

Years later

Dev's birthday Party

"Hey Dev! Happy birthday!" Geet said giving him a hug. Geet opened up a bit after she meet Maan. She had a lot of friends and most of them were Maan's friends too.

"Thanks Geet!" Dev said returning her a hug.

Geet was sitting there, on a couch watching everyone dance, when someone tapped her making her jerk.

"Geet" Maan said softly

"Maan!" Geet said surprised

"Uhmm, care to dance with me" he said offering her a hand.

Geet just smiled and took that hand. It was a month before when he realized the beauty of love and that he loved Geet. He was willing to bring her back in his life, no matter what. When he heard that she was going to be there at Dev's birthday party, he thought that the time came when he should declare his feelings to her.

"Geet, I love you. I'm really sorry for snapping at you that day and I'" Maan said swaying to the music, but before he could continue, Geet interrupted him.

"I'm sorry' I just can't be with you" Geet said getting teared up.

"Why? I know I was mean and all'.but I didn't mean to hurt.."

"It's not that." Geet said sighing.

"Then what is it!? Please tell me' I'll fix everything"

"I, I, have leukemia" Geet said, as it came out as a whisper.

Maan just stopped breathing. No, this couldn't be! Tears started forming in his eyes. When he truly understood the meaning of love, and started loving someone' No! God was so cruel!

"Geet.. I'm sorry ' I" Maan couldn't say anything instead he took her lips into his and started kissing her breathless, like there was no tomorrow.

"I want to marry you Geet" Maan said getting breathless. Hearing that, Geet just backed off.

"No Maan! You have a better life ahead, Don't waste your life for a stupid girl like me, I'm gonna d..."

Before she could finish her sentence, he grabbed her by her waist, and started kissing her again. Geet tried pulling out, but he was too strong.

"Please Maan '. Don't" Geet cried again as the kissed ended.

Maan pulled her back in to the kiss, and pinned her to the wall.

"Maan, you have to ask my dad first'" Geet said, she knew her dad wasn't going to let her go.

Mohinder Handa was a lonely Man. He lost his wife when Geet was born, and now that Geet had leukemia he felt defeated and lonely. He loved Geet more than anything. He was the one who changed her diapers, he was the one who taught her to swing, ride a bike, swim, write and everything. He was the one who'd be there for her whenever she needed him. She was the only thing he had and he'd never give her to anyone.

To Geet's surprise her dad agreed. Mohinder Handa wasn't hard to convince, because both of them knew that Geet deserved to be happy. Though Mr. Handa was a bit sad to share his daughter, he agreed at last saying "I can no more give Geet away than I can give away my heart. But what I can do is let another share in the joy that she has always given me."

The wedding was a Grand affair. Geet was dressed like a beautiful Indian Bride, Just like she wanted. She really looked royal, just like a princess. And there Maan was beside her, her knight in shining Armor. There they took their vows of being together forever, and finally they were declared Husband and Wife. Just like Geet wanted, and she considered herself to be god's most loved child for having Maan. And months later when she was breathing her last, she had her knight beside, holding her as she smiled for one last time and said "I love you, Maan. And if there is such a thing called reincarnation then I wish to have you in as many births I take. You truly were my Landon Carter, just like Jamie had. I love you more then I could ever show you'"
