I'd fallen out of love with the show-- geet's character had been altered beyond belief, the relationship between them nothing more than a shadow of the previous glorious romance we were used to

Geet had changed from a mature girl to a childish screeching banshee; Maan from a man of honour and principles to a henpecked husband

BUT BUT BUT

in the last two days-- things have changed-- some of the magic is back

Geet is more Geet-like, MSK is back. It was clear today that MSK was MSK, not Maan-- the truth of the words he said to her so long ago was clear to see

and I'll say what i've always said-- GEET is a TV show-- they can't show a happy settled relationship-- they can't; no show has done that and run for long

Name me any shows-- either english or indian, where the show has been able to keep the main couple together (and don't quote Hart to Hart at me, that was different-- they were married when the show started)

The CVs are trying to escape the Moonlighting curse-- and they are doing it in a much better way than every other series

Look at Sasural Genda Phool-- people laud that show for being different-- but even there, we've just been given an amnesia track

Look at Saloni-- where the couple stayed together much longer than normal-- even there eventually, another woman was brought in, there was assumed infidelity

If Maaneet can escape vamps, infidelity, illegitimate children, the worries about falling in and out of love, the idiocies about multiple marriages- and the only price we have to pay is watching them stay apart in more and more tenuous circumstances-- then I say, WHY NOT

Let them stay apart, let them not be able to start to act like a normal married couple until towards the end of the show

but for gods sake, don't have them be like all the other married couples

I am not defending the CVs-- I did that for a while as they deserved it for a while, but whoever gave the Ok to the current Dev/nandini track deserves nothing but brickbats-- but I am saying that if we think how bad things could be (and indeed how bad things have been recently) I am quite happy with what we are seeing now. and I'm also not saying that people should stop lambasting the CVs for their idiocies, nor would I dare to suggest again that if people don't like it, they should just stop watching.

I'm just giving another PoV on the show

Yes, its a pale imitation of the first few months-- but there is NO SHOW which can maintain that quality for a long time (apart from The Wire, I've been informed reliably, but I never watched that)

and also-- one last thing-- i think i should declare that its my opinion that wanting a TV show to be logical is crying for the moon, or indeed wanting the tooth fairy to be real
