'Maan' her parting word to him, parting he knew not of.
He stood there freezed & she drifted away, he did not turn back to see her go.
The volcano having erupted the air needed to cool off & until that he knew he could not talk to her nor hear her speak.
He had tried hard yet he could not shield her from his anger & mistrust in Dev, fear & concern for her, disappointment in her having forgiven Dev all on her own knowing how much he hated that man for his deeds & now he saw her pure being be touched by those hands that had once violated her body, mind, soul & self respect & not cringe but take it with smile.
The lava in him had been filling up since long.
From the day in the locked conference room he had heard her heart wrenching past of how a man had betrayed her having ripped her of her innocence left her helpless with a child in her womb.
Since he heard her think of herself as tainted not fit to be loved by him coz her body & soul had been violated.
Since he had seen the small life for the first time & heard Geet say I love U in joy & content that now her Baby has a Papa.
More ever since he had known that the faceless man he hated is none other than his own brother.
Since Geet had lost her trust in him fearing him to have forgiven his brother.
And ever since Dev entered their life yet again when they were making a blissful beginning
The lava now erupted wanting to burn Dev to cinders for all his sins.
He could never forgive Dev for what he did to Geet.
How can any man of self respect & integrity stand to see the man who had once treated his wife as flesh alone & later as a rag dropped her to suffer. How can he forgive such man!
As a man when he couldn't how could Geet then forgive him.
He tried to reason hard yet fail to find any reason ever to be appropriate that can make his Geet to forget all Dev's sin & acknowledge his presence in their life now.
Unable to hold himself back he had confronted Dev only to be met by a question'If Geet has forgiven me why can't you?'
His fury that he had kept checked knew no bounds as he was robbed of his defense here by his wife alone.
She did not count his opinion before forgiving Dev & now Dev was questioning him.
He roared to show the jackal his place -
'If she is ready to let go of her self respect, forget all the torments & insults she suffered coz of you & now celebrates holi with you does not mean i'll be doing same as my pride & self respect will never let me forgive you nor forget your sins.'
It was not only about her forgiving but her forgetting everything as it never had happened had him hurt so much that he could not help but make her feel that pain.
In attempt to mask his disappointment, his pain & utmost his fear in anger he knew he had hurt her with his words as she had wounded him with her actions.
Yes she is hurt the thought made him rush to their room, he had to talk to her & hear her.
He knew she had again misunderstood him, taken his anger & words on face value & not seen his hurt & pain in them.
He had to voice it to her.
The silence in the room told him that his soul had left.
The walls too cried of her absence as did his heart that felt itself being ripped apart.
Empty yet filled up with anger against Dev & now his own self he knew he had to stop her.
He had never feared this ..she could never leave him ..he never left her.
'Honor & Self respect' yes she had questioned his too infront of his staff, his board, media & the world when she refused to marry him for being Dev's kin & who she accused for forgiving Dev knowing she could never ever do.
She had left him then.
But he did not let go of her.
How could one let go of his life without putting up a fight.
He had fought her for them to win & they had won.
Then how could she let them lose now.
Soulless & lost when he heads in quest to find his oasis Dev stops him. Stops him to tell him what was only Geet's to say.
Every fiber of his being protested to hear this man name his Geet, comment on their love.
He roared again only to hear 'Geet left you for forever. She is hurt.'
He heard no more as he saw his world fall apart infront of his own eyes.
As Dev continued to explain why Geet forgave him he did not silence him, it did not matter to him now.
The tears unseen to him she had dropped hurt by him were now like daggers piercing his dead heart.
With his whole being crying in pain, at her pain.
Nothing else mattered but Geet.
It did not matter that its Dev of all the people telling him about love.
Did not matter that Geet forgave a sinner & failed to forgive his bitter words.
Did not matter she welcomed Dev as family & walked out of their marriage.
Nor did it matter that by doing all this she had drowned him in pool of miseries, left him broken knowing that it were her sufferings he was voicing when he questioned her.
He hated himself for that one moment when he hurt her & his mind blocked all the memories of his own hurt.
Her pain outweighed his pride to him.
Her tears his anger.
And the fear of losing her, their love ....outweighed everything else.
It no longer mattered that she owed him an explanation for her actions, an apology for having hurt him, for not understanding him & for leaving him.
Only thing that mattered to him now is 'she is hurt',
hurt by his words.
And for that he wanted to apologize.nandu..just one word..fabulous..simply amazing..that too because wat u wrote is 10000% correct...👏
