Wish CVs had explored this track instead of taking the current one....they could have showed a progressive track of how a couple restrengthens its bonds after a tragedy of this magnitude, how a couple can together share and overcome grief....but the CVs it seems are dead decided against any kind of progressive track.

I guess this is the difference between the written word and the visual medium, the difference between what you can show and what you want to show.

Yes. In the written world, you have the flexibility to use narration, which is missing in the visual world. There you have dialogs (with others, or one's own thoughts), expressions/acting and settings. That's where the role of a good screenplay comes. But sometimes exact translation from the written words to the screen is not possible.

I had felt it very strongly in one scene of the movie "Namesake", when Gogol/Nikhil is upset that Moushumi casually told her friends about his name change. In the novel, there is a narration of how Nikhil feels. And it is a a very subtle feeling as to how it could be something so casual for her. It was something very important to him. This was in the narration, not in a dialog.

In the movie he confronts her, and that subtlety is lost. It becomes more about why did you reveal something personal to your friends.

Thanks dear... tht was very well written... i really liked how intutively Maan sensed trouble and panicked... and then her pain was heart wrenching! very well portrayed 👏

i agree on ur post above on the screenplay and the written word! this is so true... reading something and watchin it as a movie are always two different experience and reading always takes a upper hand coz it involves the reader deep into it!
sometime the whole essence gets lost if the plot is not handled carefully! even movied like lord of the rings... gone with the wind can never do justice to the books they have been imbibed from!
Love,
Sonia

Another beautiful OS, Sharmi...I wish the communication channels between the show Maan and Geet were as open and uncluttered...

Loved it!
