Okay I have some additions on the Child Rights things:

It is basically parents rubbing off their likes and dislikes on children or day old babies and making them act just so that they reap money and fame or called as parents of someone who is famous. So they exploit the babies and children. That is why I am against hiring babies and children.

Why is it different from sports? Sports atleast gives the child health. But take the case of Budhia SIngh, one day here, gone today. His childhood destroyed by greed and avarice of one or the other.

SO GREEDY parents benefit.
Ambitious parents benefit
What is the benefit to the BABY or the CHILD??
Educate me here

Bri: The parent's are the baby's guardians and I think it may be a bit harsh to put down their motivations to only greed and avarice. I am not saying money does not play an important part- but is it always about money- I think not. There are so many children working in television/movies across the globe- are all those parents selfish? I think not. Maybe its better exposure, better lifestyle, better opportunities etc- Why? I am really in no position to say.

@Bri my 2 cents for whats it worth

There are pros and cons to this
pros
If the child has expressed any interest in acting this might be a good option. If parents can set aside the earnings of the child in a trust fund or some such it could be useful for their future. If their educational needs are not ignored, this will depend on the parents of course. The point is for the kid to also have a normal childhood along with a career. How far this will happen will be up to the child's parents

cons
A baby is in no position to express any interest in anything. The working environment may not be safe. And in a lot of cases the parents/guardians may run thru all the child's earnings.Sacrificing the child's childhood to a certain extent.
Random thoughts, I thought they will make sense once I string them together in sentences ...nope makes no sense.😕

Anu: 🤗

Pixie Chix: I don't agree wholly - rarely have parents done justice on that count be it a superstar like Sridevi or someone like Sarika - and it is always about "I could not become a star so atleast let my child be one" more than about talent or nurturing it"

Geek: I agree to your sumup of both pros and cons - but the bottomline is a child of say till some pre-teen how do they know what they like and don't - they are only psychologically manipulated by mass media and advertisers into liking something due to the manner in which they are subtly marketed

@Bri...I don't know how it works in India, from what I've seen here(in media off course), it seems there are not many positives for a child in the industry but if they have the talent and want to present it to the world, it has to be done. How grounded they stay...is a different matter. For every Emma Watson there are innumerable LILO's out there.

Added this bit to my PG 1 theme:

Addendum Errata:

1- Is it possible for PH/Channel to book a good, well-lit, safe, in healthy locales, better maintained flat and film the baby track in that flat with a limited crew?

2. Is it possible for the PH/Channel to shoot the baby track at the baby's original home with just the lead actors and a limited technical crew and the Director/Cinematographer going there and shooting it with just a hand held or any of the newer camera equipment?

3. Is it possible for the PH/Channel to hire a doctor/nurse/nanny for the period they want to shoot a baby track? Will that be feasible?

4. How are they gonna ensure maximum safety?

5. Is it possible for the creatives to weave a story and plot along the lines mentioned keeping the constraints in mind without doing grave indignity to the story?

There are workarounds as I mentioned in Points 1, 2, 3 so let's look at the bright side too.
