My guess is that the spectacular thing that Jyo predicted a couple of weeks ago is that MSK will declare publicly that he loves Kudi and will propose to her at the party ... this is probably why the three lafz scenario will lead to.

It will also answer Geet's question to Maan on Black Friday as to why exactly does he want to marry her.

I think the precap scene is the new promo. So, it's not necessary that it should happen the same way in the show. Remember that promo of Dev-Geet confrontation. That promo was really dramatic. But in the show, Dev got to know about Geet from Meera first and then the confrontation.
