I think actors should stick to the getup of their characters. Since Geet does not ordinarily wear any jewellery except her jhumkas, I think DD should also stick to wearing nothing save the 'engagement' ring. It is otherwise pretty confusing for the viewer to suddenly see another look alike ring. They can always wear their personal stuff off the sets but in a shot, it is better they stick to what the character normally wears.
