However, this post is to express my dissatisfaction with the way Daadi's character was butchered today. (As if it wasn't enough that there is no consistency of character sketches whatsoever in this show, barring Maan and Geet, mostly.)
Nope. I'm not going to rant off with obscenities for Daadi to bad mouth, insult and throw Geet out of mansion. Rather, I wish to express much disappointment in the way the CVs chose to have her play a self contradictory character today...
On the one hand was her anguish, for Maan was in such utter and evident pain. And also, cause really, there is a society to care about after all, whether ones likes or not. Daadi was justified to have her misgivings there, completely justified.
However, on the other hand we had Daadi's unperturbed, and unquestioning welcome to NT?!!! Er...!𤢠So Geet was bringing the house bad name by pulling off that disappearing act, but apparently Daadi had never expected much 'sanskaar' from NT to find no similar disappointment, or humiliation in the way NT had disappeared one fine morning... yeh, agreed it wasn't in the engagement party of the millenium, but come on! Was no body ever going to ask about NT from the mighty Khuranas? And was that never going to be awkward? Or its okay for one to go missing if you're a canadian NRI bahu, than if you're an orthodox seeming small town one?
And again, Daadi was miserable that Maan was hurting... Is Dev like her step grandson or something???
Not to defend Dev, but one must admit that if Daadi is justified to hold Geet wrong for things turning awry because she doesn't know 'all details' she is equally unjustified in the difference of her reaction towards the pain of her two grandsons, because again, she doesn't know 'all details' and has no reason to be less favoring of Dev...
It was a lose and thoughtless track overall, as far as Daadi was concerned. What ought to have been a fair reason for disappoinment for Daadi putting her up against Geet (And thereby giving the show a track to proceed on) turned out being a carelessly done storyline. Now Daadi falls much in the wrong category, and not unknowingly, but in clear prejudice of judgment...
I really wana know what's so cool about getting good characters to become abruptly and uncharacteristically thoughtless and dimwit, so that many episodes in the future can be spent wasting time with all the redemption tracks to make up
extremely clumsy on the part of CVs... Its enough that they give us a range of half baked characters like Dev/NT/Meera/Pari/the much anticipated but never showing up Sameera...and others... who are merely thrown in at points in the episodes to sort of fill up space most times... The saving grace to this show (which continues to rule charts anyways) is the Maan Geet story - the characters and actors are equally riveting and the audience clings on! But its no reason for CVs to keep dishing out senseless new threads... đ¤˘
And with that, I rest my point.
A disappointed viewer of the show.
Demanding a more thoughtful track for two characters who are rulling Indian TV atm.
