Truth or Fallacy

Farce!! She still felt that what he had said to her, how he had behaved with her, their engagement - was all a farce!! He did not know whether she did this to rile him up or to test him or for some other reason -but, it irritated him no end.

The woman was driving him insane- testing his limits, bringing him to the breaking point and then making him pull back. He had held on all this time with a tight leash on his emotions but she seemed determined to push him towards the edge - determined to take her with him.

She had stepped behind the divider to change and his eyes had been drawn to her- knowing he should look away but pulled there all the same -the hunger he had dampened so well before, now pushing for release. It made him want to grab her close, break all the barriers she kept putting up between them; to jerk those reactions out of her. If only, she would acknowledge what she felt for him; accept that what he felt for her and had displayed so openly to her was not a sham - but an unavoidable reality.

Eventually, she had stepped towards the edge of the divider - dressed in his shirt and a makeshift wraparound skirt. His heart had thundered within him and unable to stop himself he had gone up close behind her, forcing her to back up into the latticed partition where escape was not an option and he had caressed her face. She had almost responded with one of her own before pulling away and running off to the window.

It felt like a tug of war to him - the more she pushed the more he pulled. Standing close to her, he had helplessly caressed her neck, her arms, his hands winding up around her waist- holding her close to him lest she decide to deny him again - and she had. Looking into his eyes, her eyes showing her turmoil, she had freed herself from his almost embrace and moved to the bed. He had followed her there, lying next to her, his hands gripping hers - telling her with those gestures what she was doing to him. He had raised himself to look at her - her closed eyes, parted lips inviting him, urging him to kiss her and he almost did; but then had restrained himself - not sure if she was ready for this, if her feelings as involved as her response to him.

When she came to sit by the fire, he had gone to her - almost powerless in this spell that was cast over them and she had touched his cheek, as if she had no control over herself. He had turned his face and kissed her palm; but she had withdrawn, moved away, as if afraid of what he made her feel, afraid of herself. But, he was not about to let her go so easily, for he needed her to feel what he had all these days - this pull for her, this unarguable attraction that he knew was reciprocated even if she denied it with her words. He had moved in close to her then, burying his face in her hair, brushing her cheeks with his, making her eyes close of their own volition, losing herself in the sensations he caused - ready to give in to him.

He had then felt the need to make sure she understood; realized that what he felt for her was real, what was happening to them was real; nothing between them was fake, a deception like had happened to her before. He had asked her then if she really could not feel that what was between them was their undeniable truth and not a fallacy.
