Evolution of Maaneet
From Strangers
Just imagine strolling through a market and suddenly someone rushes into your arms and demands that you save them from a couple of goons. You can run away, tell that person to back off or simply stare speechless. in Maan's case it was simply 'glare' speechless. I think he was still recovering from Sammy's heartbreak, and was really not in the mood for another please-help-me damsel in distress. Yet he jumped into the lake and saved her from a possible watery grave.
To Enemies
Geet despised Maan not only because of his no-nonsense attitude, but also because of the fact that he was completely clueless of her situation, and totally greedy for her land. He had no idea that the land had been stolen from her having trusted his beloved 'bro'. 🤔 For everything Geet tried to do, Maan was always there to spoil her plans-and save her at the same time. Maan despised Geet because he was in an anti-women mode, and the continouous appearance of Geet in his life confused him even more. I could just imagine him saying 'o babaji, why you're bringing this girl into my life?'
To Saviours
If Maan saved Geet from the dastardly hands of her brother Brij, Geet surely saved Maan, just as Adi and Pinky were discussing in yesterday's episode, from a lifetime of being a cold heartless shell. For the first time Maan actually felt the pull to rescue a girl, when the first time Geet was begging him to save her, he simply stared, or rather, glared. 😆 He did not even object when she clung to him, begging him not to let her fall into her brother's hands. Maybe it was the first time Maan acknowledged Geet as someone who mattered, even before the hug-in-the-rain scene.
To Colleagues
This was the funniest stage of Maaneet romance-the boss secretary relationship. Sasha and Tasha were hell-bent on making Geet's life miserable, and yet Maan was the one who always apologized. 😆 For the first time his pride and ego melted away, and from a professional relationship it started turning into a personal one. Yet Maan continued to resist, resulting in Geet leaving her job multiple times, shifting into Maan's house and become the apple of his Dadi's eye. Which brings us to the next stage...
To-be Man and Wife
Maan and Geet's engagement may have been a fake one at first, but even then, the gravity of the relationship did have a profound effect on them. If anything, it acted as a catalyst to bring them together. We got the Dehli version of the taveez-the ring. Maan and Geet got more reasons to get closer-and this time the reason was justified, after all Geet was now his fiance. And the way Dadi and Pari played Cupid was hilarious. Every time they tried to deny their attraction to each other, their fake naatak of loving each other actually turned into a real display of love.
Friends and Lovers
Geet did what no one had expected to do-made her Dusht Danav her friend . and Maan did was a true friend would do and saved her-yet again. He outlined the qualities of a friendship-trust and emptiness without that person. But unknowingly, he was actually professing love. Yes, there was a misunderstanding-like any friend he was furious because a secret kept from him. Actually that was also a sign of a jealous lover-to learn that there was someone else in the life of the woman he wanted so desperately that he was willing to stake his life for her.
Culmination of all
What is happening now is a confusing culmination of all. You see the circle of life has brought forth each and every stage to a point where they are forming a confusing mix of emotions, leading to awkward moments between them (and headbanging for us). The thing is Maaneet relationship is not yet complete. It is still evolving, like every relationship does. There are yet some things they need and some things they need to leave behind.
So friends, don't worry and simply sit back-picture abhi baaki hai! 😆
