This post is simply not mine alone..it is a compilation of what every forum member is feeling in general in one thread...plus my own views.
Human nature is to be impulsive...to follow your instinct.
Maan expected Geet to confess her love for him. So when she suddenly said she's pregnant, it might be a funny thing for most, but it wasn't funny for him. The serious look in her eyes was an indication that she was not joking. Maan can read Geet's expressions even when shocked.
When he detached herself from her, we were angry. We wanted to know why, after all those long misaals of love he gave, was he being so hypocritical. But then, he's human. We always expect the worst, but when it finally comes, we lose the courage to deal with it. Perhaps he thought her past began and ended at Hoshiarpur, he wasn't aware that it followed her all the way to Delhi..
Just like we say Geet should not be blamed because the full truth is not out, Maan should not be blamed for precisely the same reaosn.
We wrote FF's on Maan, made siggies and VM's about him, dedicated several threads to how cute/sweet/khadoos/hot he was, but just one episode was enough to make us forget how pained Maan is from inside. Agreed, as a forum member said, the serial is about Geet, not Maan, but Geet and Maan's souls are linked together, so are they.
Before calling him wrong for being such an angry young man, we should analyse his background. I'm not saying we should just drool over him. 😆 We should take point of those small blanks-his strained relationship with his family(which is why before Delhi, Dev's mom and family hesitated so much to call Maan, and always spoke in hushed or bitter tones about him), the absence of his parents, Sameera, and most importantly-that abandoned room, where Maan has still preserved his past.
Just like Geet was hurting from her past all this time, Maan was hurting too. He thought Geet would stabilise his life, make everything perfect-even Geet thought the same thing about him. Instead he recieved another jolt to his already not-so-perfect life.
So before shouting out curses on Maan, remember that he's not just an ordinary human being like all of us, but someone who has forgotten what emotions truly are and what they matter to people. Like a kid who has discovered how attracting yet dangerous fire can be, he has made the same discovery about love. Give him time to learn and understand.
