Posted this in eveline's post for all those who want to take sides after yesterday's episode and fight over Maan and Geet.

I prided that this forum has always been free of partisan warfares in comparison to all the fighting forums here. But then I did not realise that Maaneet did not face any challenge so far. Yesterday was the first challenge and already the forum is divided between Maan lovers and Geet lovers. Lets not forget that Maan and Geet are meaningless without Maaneet. As long as they do not show character inconsistency or character assassinations, lets accept the innate weaknesses in these characters. Everything cannot be hunky dory always. It would be boring otherwise.

Coming to the episode itself, I was happy that both Geet and Maan acted true to their characters.

Don't we know that Geet always blurts out the first thing on her mind and ends up putting more than her foot in the mouth? She is emotional and impulsive and her confession yesterday reflected just these qualities. She tried to come prepared to bare all, but was overwhelmed by Maan's attention and undisguised love that her conscience pricked her and she blurted out her present before getting to her past. Maan had assured her that her past would not affect him but she knows that her present is linked to her past. So she has to come clean with her present for him to be able to take a decision about their future. She thought with her heart and not her head, as always.


On a lighter note, Maan is to be blamed for Geet's abrupt confession. She was practicing a nice little confessional before the Demello wedding, wasn't she? By intruding on it and cutting it short, he did not let her complete her rehearsal. Now how can you blame the poor girl for not getting it right? All of us need practice before becoming perfect, don't we?

Btw, this quality of Geet's, to speak her mind without thinking too much is what Maan loves about her for it makes her genuine, without a single manipulative bone in her body.


As to Maan, have we not seen him always react first, then reason and finally realise? That is what will happen to him. I'm thankful that he did not lash out to her then and there. It would have been too much for the poor girl who was already burdened by her own guilt of keeping things from him for so long. He wanted to be alone to process what he just heard. He wanted space. Suddenly the beautiful castle he had built so lovingly and painstakingly, after much thought and overcoming his own reluctance, came crumbling down. He needs time. Hope we can give him that and I'm sure he will not disappoint us.


Both are lonely souls. When one is in pain, one seeks one's family or friends for support. Here Maan and Geet lack both.

Geet had lost her family. The two friends she had, Adi and Pinky have also distanced themselves after the engagement. The man who promised to be by her side has also left her (although temporarily). So she has no one to share her pain with.

Maan is a recluse by nature. He cant share his pain with Dadi, the only one with whom he is close. He has no friends. His only friend was Geet. When she is the one who is the cause of the pain, who does he turn to?

So we as the loyal Maaneetians should be their support. Lets not fight amongst ourselves but stay united in their hour of need.

Dev is such a spineless wimp...i just can't wait for the day when Maan simply beats the daylight out of this guy....
