Bridgette, I understand what u r saying a woman's dignity is first & foremost to anything & I myself believe in thatbut here I can't draw parallels between Dev& Maan.
With Dev he deliberately cheated & deceived Geet, he wanted her money & so he went through all the charade but to fulfill his own physical desire he did what he shouldn't have! He didn't have touse her like thatbut he did it intentionally & deliberately, There was no LOVE involved there & Geet too didn't have any choice, she did get married under pressure & after marriage as she thoughtit was what she was supposed to do & so she complied without any option.
But here its a complete different scenario. Maan loves her to no end & is desperate to know her feelings. He is confused in seeing something in her eyes which conveysher love for him& then she voices something else. So to make her confess & admit her love he is resorting to endless efforts to make her his own. After all his trials finally he settles down to give an ultimatum to her, but here is a big difference. HERE GEET HAS A CHOICE, she can tell him NO on his face as she is doing all along, so unless she wants it to he can't make her no matter what he says.
And here he is all determined to give her his name in an honorable manner not like Dev who used & threw her out like a soiled tissue from his life.
If Maan's intentions were not an honorable one I wouldn't have defended him but here I can see its not a one night stand he has in mind but a life time of love he is offering to her. That in itself is an applaudable act. And its not one sided love, he knows & feel she feels the same for him but is not voicing it out. So now he will go all out to any extent, sam, dam, dand bhed sab kuch karega yeh banda! So for that I salute him.
