Well I agree with u..the social issue part is sidelined..but there is a reason for it...that old story was not getting trps..not many were watching it and there were rumours all around saying Geet gonig off air because of low trps..but sinse the time delhi track started..trps went sky high..people loved boss-secretary track even though it was cliched...so CVs had no option but to sideline the other track and concentrate on the love story which is giving them trps..see the result today..Geet in top 50 shows😆....at the end of the day a channel has to think practically from trp POV ..they r making profit here...if love story of Maneet is giving them profit..then why not ??...so the old story was sidelined for trps sake..

I feel that this topic is MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING.....

@Noorie31: You have pointed out a good thing.... It is true that the show is about a strong woman getting up to fight for her rights.

Maybe, it is sidelined for sometime, but not because of TRP's only.
Every time, she goes away from Maan, she is a stronger Geet.
Remember, Dadi has admired her audacity.

Even in the epis that showed Tom and Jerry Fights, and that Pasta thing,she ate it because she wanted to get over her fear of Dev.

She becomes stronger, doesn't mean that she forgets all her humaneness... even for now, she stopped because of Dadi....whom she finds a very respectable figure.

Your worries are right, and I started watching it because I was really impressed by the first promo... but I can't blame them for showing a love story amidst all the mess. They are actually aggrevating the problems for both Maan Geet.

This will be the time when we would get to see the real power and strength of Geet....

Maybe, I love the show's theme, so much that I ignore some of the bloopers...

No meaning to offend anyone....

dont worry am sure..that cv's will get into that too!..since now we are so hooked to maaneet story makers are cashing on it..but once deveet track starts it will be interesting to see how geet punishes dev..

I will give you an example as to why the business logic drives program content and as to why the focus is shifted from the social message.

Take IF for instance, write a post that is serious, arguing your points, putting forth brave viewpoints. What would be the average readership for such a post? I tell you - it would be low.

Write a post that is drooling, with X-factor, comedy, sugary-sweet syrupy stuff, it sure is gonna get you tonnes of comments and reads.

So it is the public that drives program content.

The makers of GEET started off by replicating a true story and started to shoot in a docu-drama format. That did not sit well with the users and they were on low TRPs for a long time before they found the FORMULA of the MAAN-GEET love story! That is why they are capitalizing on it.

That too people listen to successful people, say if Sachin Tendulkar told you to go and donate blood - you would do it, but if I told you, you would scoff at it.

So the Production House is aiming for success and from success they will drive the social message. Wait and Watch! The message is not lost, it is just waiting to happen!

So well, we want an escape from REAL tragedies! And these prime time fictional shows give us that escape.

I agree to what you said..already our real world is full of tragedies than if we on our TV set either we see honor killing or. Dupe marriages…Most starone audience are young population who are not interested in Saas bahi or serious track…that's why they look upto starone light romantic shows…therefore Geet which doing bad in Hoshiyarpur trackwith TRP….went to 1.4 trp in 4-5 week after clichd office track…Other thing..which serial started on social issue remained that way…First example BV…they actually glamorized child marriage with low TRP they will be on love story new lead.…Bairi Piya….totaly disgusting was fight against oppressive Thankur .showing affair…of rapist Thakur ..and victim….Pratigya…it was fight for women right against eve teasing…and the solution is marry that stalker...Na ana…even after one year…still….no solution…get is better than those….crap on color or starplus….atleast not showing solution like this…marry dev for her kid…I would love to see geet always like this…only love story…r i will see starplus...or documentry
