The dance episode needs to be put into context

Hi all. :) Just wanted to drop my two cents about the dance episode today. I know a lot of viewers are disappointed in how Geet was treated, and no doubt it was heartbreaking. :( But I think a few things should be put into context, and hopefully people will feel better about the episode because Maneet is too wonderful a couple to feel sad about!

- At least in my eyes, Maan did not intend to abandon Geet on the dance floor after they danced. Think about all that happened before Maan ultimately left the dance floor:

(1) Maan is infuriated with Geet for the food flub
(2) Maan scolds Geet in front of people
(3) Geet revealed to Maan that she thinks he hates her, and you could tell that really affected him by his expression and the whole launch into the dance
(4) They had this (amazing and intense) dance
(5) Everybody is watching Maan dance with a girl he just scolded
(6) Geet grabs his hand and slides it from her waist, causing Maan to snap out of his dance trance
* edit: (7) Maan is growing jealous of Rahul's fondness for Geet (thanks Mallika113, can't believe I forgot to include this!)

So, no doubt he is flooded with conflicting emotions--anger that she supposedly ruined key details for the party, guilt that she thinks he hates her, passion because of the dance, jealousy because of Rahul, embarrassment that Geet was the one who had to take his hands off of her, and further embarrassment that everyone watched him dance with a girl he chastised just minutes before and how that makes him look as a boss. I really think he just lost his mind for a second and had to disconnect from the floor. We all know how much he likes being in control and he obviously lost it.

I'm not saying what he did was right or anything, because it was just awful to watch Geet fend for herself, but I think we should also look at where Maan's head was, too. He is only human, after all. And I think the CVs had to make him leave somehow, because that's the only way Sasha would be able to exact her "revenge."


- Sasha tearing Geet's sari was despicable, no two words about it. I can kind of understand where the CVs are coming from, though, because they needed something really dramatic--Sasha just watched a man she adores dance intensely with a girl whom she has hated from day one. Sasha can't just use the same "give Sir 5 cubes of sugar," right? It has to be over the top and it has to also double as a way for Maan to come and redeem himself for what he did when leaving Geet earlier (covering her with his jacket). I guess my point is that there was a reason that scene was included even though it was obviously very tough to watch. :(


So sorry for my rambling but I hope some people feel at least a little better, I know there were huge hopes for this dance episode and I don't want people to feel sad about it. <3

I couldn't agree with you more, everything you said is sooo right, Maan def lost control of his mind in the party and for once just had to leave, so rightt!

That's how I feel as well! Those scenes were necessary for what is about to come...

I know there have been numerous posts about the saree incident, people are upset or even disappointed with the episode or even 'hating' Maan (please do not go to that extent!)....and yes it was shocking to see Sasha stoop down that low but Maan is there as Geet's saviour and he is surely going to be there for her!

This is just the tip of the iceberg! Maan and Geet's relationship will grow stronger as a result of what happened and hopefully just give them some time to sort out their misunderstandings....

All I want to say is:

Kumari, wonderful points. You are the first person to post from Maan's side. Most of us only think about the woman's side, but you have described Maan's feelings beautifully. He was in so much confusion about the whole thing, the food, and Sasha saying bad things about Geet and Geet telling him that he hates her and the clients thinking that his party is below par and then of course that lecher Rahul !

But what he couldn't convey in his feelings he did by his dancing actions! Oh wow, what a dance it was too, it was his way of saying that he adores her and the way he kept pulling her towards him and spinning her and lifting her. If a man hated a woman, would he really dance with her with such emotions? I don't think so. The way he covered her up after the sari incident, he was her knight in shining armour while everybody else stood and watched !

Thank you so much Mallika! Oh yes, how could I forget about Rahul??? Ugh. And I totally agree about that dance, it was definitely emotion-filled and that made it all the more amazing to watch.
