Hello daisies!!! 🤗 Anyone missed me? *looks hopeful*
Had to go through so much trouble to watch Geet this week! And well…since there was no sign of Dev, I could happily drool over the angry young "Maan" and thoroughly enjoy myself! I must say…his khadoospan looked even hotter in that white UBS! Loved him to the core…aah he's so darn hot! *giggle* 😳
I'm sure the neeyat of half the Forum girls went for a toss when they saw him glaring at Munshiji with those dark eyes...my dil went mmmm….lolz! 😍
Anyway, *chides herself* Khushboo concentrate! 😡 😆
Yes…coming back to the point of the post. After watching the last two episodes, I seriously feel the need to throw up. And I would prefer doing it on Brij.
Geet's father did the only thing he could think of in order to save her life…asking her to run away. Not a practical solution, no. But it was perhaps the only available option in the current situation. A helpless father advising an equally helpless daughter to run away from home, to save two lives…one that of his daughter, and the other of her unborn child.
It touched me deeply, even though I wished he had handled the situation differently. What is he alone to do against society? He is considered as much an enemy of the family as his daughter. And why so? Because of his modernized…no, his sensible and humanitarian approach to life, to women.
Another thing which struck me was Geet's iron determination. Despite being drugged, she trudged on to save her child…a true mother's spirit. As we all know, mothers can be lethal if someone tries to harm their child. It's mere human nature, and she's no alien to the feeling. She hid herself to the best of her abilities, and when Brij finally found her, she tried to protect herself. It was her fury that forced her to stay conscious, to stay alert lest something happen to her baby. 👏
And Brij's attitude…preposterous! It hurt me to see his mother (sorry I forgot her name oops!) begging in front of him with folded hands. What a pathetic scene…that of a mother begging to her child, who refuses to see sense, to even give her the mere respect she deserves as his mother, if not as a woman. 😡
Also, watching Daarji move away from poor Rano who had fallen at his feet, begging mercy in desperation for her only daughter, it disgusted me. She was behaving like a typical mother, one who cares for her child more than she does for herself. As much as Geet, who's mindset is the same as Rano at the time being. They're both mothers, fighting tooth and nail to protect their children, their lives. And i respect them. 👏
Daarji's words…when he said that he doesn't care for her life if she doesn't care for her family's honour…it did nothing less than send cold shivers down my spine. The fact that he could even say that, being the senior of the family, was appalling. What respect does he deserve, if he doesn't know how to respect others? 😕 😡
Brij, being the chamcha of Daarji and the blind fool that he is, chased after her. To kill his own sister in the name of honour. Everyone reminded him of his relation with Geet, but he loves his honour more than his life.
So he gathered his murderer friends, and ordered them to find her and chop off her neck *cringes at the thought*. And how wonderful of them to support him in this insane decision...wah! 👏 😡 😡 😡 He needs an award for being one of the most heartless people on the planet. I doubt even terrorists are this crazy...
Geet, like any other normal person, started running for her life. But as luck may have it, Maan missed her desperate cry. What was worse, Channi's brother found her. I salute her guts, to have run such a long distance with them all chasing her like hunters.
The poor helpless prey that she was, she fell when one of them struck. Despite that she kept trying to save herself, and the sickening image of a small animal trying to run away from being slaughtered flashed in my mind. *shudder*
We saw her beg Brij, telling him that she was her sister...to have mercy. But he doesn't have a heart of stone, no. He possesses no heart at all. He's the reincarnation of the devil, with a twisted blood-thirsty mind.
They hit her, hurt her, and finally, Brij positioned his sword over her neck like an experienced golfer aiming a shot...I wonder how he could remain so unaffected, while attempting to kill his own blood relative. 😲 *shiver* But, thankfully Maan showed up and no need to go into those details, as we all know what is going to happen next.
Now, after this long boring essay, my questions are...if life is priceless, then is honour more valuable than that? What right does Brij have to take a life...no matter what the reason?
Is it all her fault, that being a woman, she has been adorned with the thorned crown of family honour?
And to think of Brij's perception of honour...what will happen to the honour he's so desperately trying to protect, when people come to know of his insane and homicidal actions? As we all know, truth always prevails...and this gory truth will most definitely come out. What will happen to his family then? Has he ever thought of that minute detail? 😕
Think about it this way...a more practical, softer approach to the situation would have done wonders. So they didn't want Geet to keep the child...they could have helped her. Explained to her sensibly that education is a better option if she wants to take revenge on Dev. Maybe she would have resisted, but force is never the answer.
Honour, as I keep saying, is no public certificate to show off. It's private, and not the business of others. 😡 Many of you will disagree, and say that in Indian society, this is the norm. Yes, that is a point. But what about changing this age-old mindset?
Why not judge a woman by her personality than her honour? It is important, yes, but nothing to parade about. Why not respect a woman's decisions just as a man's is respected? Why not let her live on her own terms, respect her independence, and accept that she has every right to listen to her own heart?
Some people may think it's an insane idea, but honestly, coming from the background I've been brought up in, these thoughts do cross my mind. Having a child will not ruin her life, it won't harm the family honour.
If anything, it might help to change the mindset, the outlook of people. Call me optimistic to the point of insanity, but I think that she might even gain some respect in society for being a single mother.
I'm not dreaming, I know of such gutsy women who've lived life on their own terms. I respect them all...they're rockstars! 👏 👏 👏
Honour killings are nothing less than cold-blooded murder. And the supporters of this outrageous practice simply deserve to be hanged to death. Because no one has the right to rule another's life. We are all different individuals, and our views are different. Instead of forcing opinions of another, wouldn't life be so much easier if we just accepted it and moved on instead of declaring war? 😕
I know, I know...lots of rambling. But seriously, these things get me so angry, I just have to vent. I just hope Maan knocks Brij out and throws him into jail. Hmph.
And bashers, do try not to give me a headache...I already have one. Go somewhere where your views will be appreciated, and trust me...this ain't the thread for it.
Lots of love to all,
Khushboo. ❤️
