Wow!!! I had a feeling that this version wasn't going to live up to it's predesessor the original DON!!! When I go and watch it, I won't be expecting anything at all, all I wan't to watch for is only the similarities and differences. I wasn't even born when the original one came out but everytime I watch it, I love it all over again!!! Let's see if the new DON can live up to the original one according to my books!!!!! Thanks for sharing the review!!!!

Yes...guess who are going to play the eponymous characters of Amar AKbar and Antony...

Salman Khan,Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan

CAnt imagine any of tha Khans playing Antony Gonsalves....and none of the knahs have the charm of Rishi Kapoor .....and These arent even half as Good as Vinod Khanna and Rishi Kapoor....ANother great movie at the verge of being remade and ruined🤢

I too feel that classics should just be left alone. Don2 is a write off as far as I am concerned. Sad to know that they are attempting yet another remake i.e. AAA, which had AB in a collossal role. I can't imagine any of the present lot actors fitting into AB's shoes. If the director has any sense, he should scrap the venture now after watching the debacle of Don2.

phew thank god Farhan chose SRK voer Hrithiik to do DOn! I knew it would bea disaster...every1 says dont compare but hello comparisons r inevitable if two movies haev the same title, same storyline, same characters blah blah!

N SRK shd leave his Darr/Duplicat kinda villanous roles behind...it's too over-the-top n way too filmi!

I wish SRK would do more films lik Swades rathr thn waste his talent in rotoen moveis li KANK n attempt to remake classics lik Don where he would fall FLAT on hsi face!

The comparisons will happen. Even if for one moment we put the comparisons aside, the movie when viewed in isolation is a very poor attempt. SRK's acting particularly in the 2nd role leaves a poor taste. the music is below average, the plot looks sketchy, direction is awkward, and teh other characters are just simply non-existent. Priyanka looks ravishing but quiet wasted in a small inconsequential role. The actor playing Narang looks like a wooden spoon. Arjun Ramphal cannot deliver one dialogue with clarity and SRK is SRK. As Don he has failed to integrate into the character written by pen (by Salim Javed), and has emerged more as SRK from Duplicate, Darr, Baazigar, and Anjaam. And he has failed miserably in executing the role of Vijay the sweet innocent country bumpkin. He was more of Mumbai ka chora with a firangi look and accent.

I am speaking now without comparing with the old classic. Don2 has touches of incongruity and a morose background effect (a la Ram Gopal Verma movies). Even if viewed in isolation this movie fails because of faulty direction, imperfect script (as a result of deviation), poor acting by SRK, and a non-musical effect.

Had to come and comment as I too was highly disappointed with the new Don, I had such high hopes and so much excitement but that excitement flew away the moment I saw Shahrukh as Vijay what was worst was when he spoke in that accent which looked exceedingly fake, I will not compare this don to the old one as I agree this movie was not made so we could compare, but the whole plot was a bore 🤢 we went to the 9:30-12:30 show and yawned through out the entire movie, now don't get me wrong I had watched RDB and Krissh at the same time slot and was so filled with excitement that I didn't even know when the show was over, but for this one I kept checking my watch over and over begging that may my 10 bucks pay off but in vain

I am a huge SRK fan have been since I was about four, he was my first crush, I have enjoyed him in every movie no matter how bad the movie had bombed at the box office but this one and KANK broke my heart, he was terrible and the whole movie seemed to be out of place, and those who commented on the "khaike paan" song I agree it was so out of place and inappropriate and the dance steps had me feeling distressed, what a shame such a fun song had me crying and begging them to stop jumping like monkeys

Arjun was a waste he had no role, all the ladies who gushed in their interviews about their "meaty roles" had roles like thin bones, I didn't notice any slickness or extreme action, I knew I should have watched my Sallu's movie

Farhan Akhter had a ready made excellent Script/story, excellent ready made dialouges, and some of the best songs (that too already written with music), Heck he even had a already popular title for the movie along with names of the characters and what does he do....

Ruins Everything!!! 🤢

Comparisions are bound to be made! Especially if you are remaking a hit movie of the past. So when SRK and Farhan said that the new Don is different and not to make comparisions they only said it to save their a$$. Gimme a break.

welll I agree with Subhash Jha.

Movie is pathetic. Okay full marks to topography, locales and cinematographay. But rest everything else is below average. Farhan Akhtar has yet again shown his experience in handly a complex subject. He had the script on his plate and mucked it completely. SRK could not deliver as Vijay so on hindsight Farhan changes the end by that really vague twist. This twist was a last minute attempt to save his a$$ as he knew that SRK would be outright rejected Vijay the sweet character which AB played in the original. the movie completely lacks in soul, romance and music and SRK is just SRK. 🤢
