"He does but he just likes to ring the bell so he could see my face first thing at the doorway" she said with a giggle as she ran for the door. She looked back at Angad to see if he was perfectly hidden and as soon as he gave the thumbs up, she opened the door.

The Other

Chapter One

"Sir, would you like something to drink" The airhostess said as she walked passed Angad in his first class seat.

He had never thought he would be going back home after so many years. London, back to the very home he grew up in. He remembered after his parents had died, how his older brother, Sahil took care of him. He loved his brother very much and missed him more then any thing. The day Angad's flight land would be Sahil's birthday his older bro was turning thirty and he was going to give him the surprise of his life.

It had taken him Five years to forgive his brother for marrying a woman, with out telling him. It wasn't like he hated his sister-in-law, in fact he had only seen her once and that was on his brother's wedding day. Angad just hated how Sahil had kept such a big thing away from him until his wedding day.

Even though Angad had never seen his sister-in-law, he actually liked her. He talked to her over the phone a few weeks ago to let her know of his arrival and to not tell Shail of his surprise visit. He remembered her actually screaming over the phone in joy as if she knew him also and hadn't seen him in years.

Angad's anger over his brother wouldn't have been so dramatic five years ago, if it hadn't been for the age difference. Shail was twenty-five when he got married and to Angad it seemed a reasonable age but his bride to be didn't seem a reasonable age to Angad. He always felt his brother had married a girl to young for him, as she was only twenty years old. But when he saw that Shail and his wife had survived five years together alone and happy he decide that he was the one who was wrong to accuse his brother for being in love.

Today Angad was returning to London to live with his brother and his sister-in-law to find a bride for him self. He was twenty-seven and very capable of finding a women on his own, the only problem was he never was able to find the right one. He thought maybe with a little help from his brother and sister-in-law he would be able to find the girl that was perfect. A girl, some one Indian. Someone that could live with modern luxury and face the media and press along with house held duties of a wife. He wanted a girl educated, nonsmoker but okay if she drank a little on special occasions. A woman who wanted children, and willing to take the responsibilities to raise them instead of throwing them away to nannies. A woman with value, class, dignity, and most of all love.

"No thanks" He said as the airhostess continued on with her route.

He couldn't wait to reach home. The thought of it made him smile. Home! He never regretted for leaving home as he was able to make a name for himself instead of being a person behind his brother's success.

Angad Khanna was a person of his own. He succeeded with hard work and determination. His brother had become a successful business billionaire after taking over their father's shoe company after their parent's death. Shail's money making days came at a young age of twenty-two while Angad's money making days came at twenty-five after buying stocks and coming close to buying off an entire NFL football team, until he decided to save the money instead.

Angad's success came from his own of buying and selling stocks, while his brother's success came from his father's company that he expanded to a multi billion pound company.

"Ladies and gentlemen." The pilot's voice came on to the aircraft speaker. "We will be landing soon. Please fasten your seatbelts and tray compartments in the up right positions." Angad never understood why he had never bought a private jet of his own. It wasn't like he couldn't afford one. He just never was able to realize why but for some reason he never like the idea of flying to places on his own, even if private jets were of more comfort then commercial airlines.

As the flight started to land, Angad couldn't help but smile his heart out. He felt like he was going to go insane if he did not get out of the plan and run out of the airport. He wanted to scream out 'I'm home' his heart felt like singing.

Five years was a long time to be away from home and all Angad could think was the look on Shail's face when he sees him.

The wheels of the plan hit the ground and Angad felt the jolt of the plan race though him. This time his quite smile turned to a large grin of happiness. Joy filled him inside out. He wanted the plane to halt to a stop so he could run out of the aircraft. The plane started to slow down more and more and the more the plan slowed the more Angad became impatient. He started tapping his fingers to the side of the armrest hoping his vibrations could get the plan to stop a second faster.

Even though Angad's brother wouldn't be at the airport to see him, as he did not know that he was coming. His sister-in-law was to be there to pick him up. Angad really couldn't remember how she looked like as he had only seen her once that too five years ago. But over the phone she told him that she knew very well how he looked like, as there were many pictures of him around the house with his brother and parents.

"Ladies and gentlemen." the pilots voice came back on the speaker. "Welcome to London, you may now unfasten your seatbelts, but please remain seated till the doors open" Angad couldn't take the frustration; he was in London but still couldn't get out of his seat. He was determined to be the first to be out of the plan as he was the one most impatient.

The one-minute it took to get the doors open felt like an hour to Angad. As soon as the word was give of the doors open, he was out of his seat. He push and shoved his way out of the plane uncaring for the rude remakes that he got. All he cared was to get out. He wanted to be with someone that he could call family. He felt he had been away from family for too long and today he wanted to meet his sister-in-law and hug her and twirl her around saying how much he missed home and how much he regretted not staying closely in touch with her and his own brother.

Angad literally ran to the luggage claim to haul away his luggage. He was the first to grab his bags and carriers and ran out the luggage claim area and went strait for the London inquirers that checked everyone's passport. Lucky for Angad he was a USA and UK citizen and was able to use his UK passport to get though the long line of people quickly to the citizen's line.

Angad handed his passport to the inquirer at the front of the line at the airport desk. "Ah Mr.Khanna I see you are returning to London after five years." The inquirer said.

"Yes sir" Angad could careless about the small talk but he knew from experience the nicer you are with the airport officials the faster and smoother things go. The ruder you are the slower and more of their sweet time they take.

His feet itch to get out of the place and as soon as the guy said, "Welcome back to London Mr.Khanna" and handed him his UK passport Angad flew out with such speed, it left the inquirer in shock. He ran out the London airport doors with great speed with his backpack on his shoulders and his handbag over and around his other shoulder. He step though the automatic doors of the airport to the London air of the summer heat.

Just knowing he was stepping on London ground gave him pleasure. For some reason the air felt better. He felt better knowing he was in London, his home. The city where he grew up. The city where so many memories were built of him, his brother, his parents, and most of all his life.

His eyes searched the crowed out side of the airport for her, his sister-in-law. Then he smiled to himself as he realized even if he saw her, he didn't remember how she looked like. The simple fact was she was just going to have to find him.

He wanted to yell her name out so she could find him quicker but then he didn't want to make a fool of himself in front of such a lager crowd either. He continued to search hoping if he saw her maybe he would remember how she looked. He knew she was beautiful from what he remembered from his brothers wedding day but then again every bride looks beautiful in a wedding dress.

Finally he spotted her. She was walking to him with a smile on her face. He knew this had to be her. Shail was a brother who always had good taste in women and this woman was beautiful. She was his sister-in-law and he didn't have to be a rocket scientist to know it. He grinned at her as she came in to hug him.

"Its really nice to officially meet you Angad" She said with true happiness. She knew how much Shail loved his brother. She knew that Angad being home for Shail's birthday was going to be the best gift her husband could ever get.

She took one of the bag Angad was carrying on her shoulder and let him carry the bag pack.

"Hold up lovely lady, I can't let you carry my bags, you're my sister-in-law and a woman. I was trained from the best; never let a woman carry a man's luggage." Angad said with a grin taking the bag she took away from him back.

"In that case, I have also been trained from the best. Never to let a guest carry their bags to the car from the airport." She said with a smile as she took the bag back from Angad.

"That's to bad because, I'm not a guest I'm your brother-in-law, here to stay!" By saying that Angad took the bag again back and gave a large grin.

"Well I guess I can't argue with that," she said with the largest of a smile as they walked toward the car. She was surprised that Angad wasn't married yet. From the moment she saw him at the airport she noticed he was a lot more dashing in real life then in the pictures at home. She was shocked to see how similar Angad looked to Shail. They both had the same eyes. Angad was younger then Shail but clearly taller by a few inches. She didn't even need Shail beside Angad to compare him. She noticed that her husband and Angad body wise were very similar, she should have figured Angad probably worked out three or more times a week like Shail.

"So tell me, what should I call you? Should I call you by your name or the Indian tradition of babhi, or maybe little sis?" Angad said asking. He really had this question on his mind as he really didn't have any idea what to call her.

She giggled a little at Angad's stupid question. "You can call me what ever you want." She said as she continued to walk toward the car. She hated how airports always had far way parking from where people actually picked up friends and family. The parking made such an inconvenience and a long hectic walk that is clearly unnecessary.

"Okay then I will just call you by your name. Of course if you don't mind?" Angad said putting an arm around her shoulders, surprised how she perfectly fit. She was a small thing in his arms and he could tell why his brother was probably crazy in love with this woman.

"So tell me Kripa, how are things going between you and my brother?" it was the first time Angad said her name from his lips. It felt weird saying her name but he knew he would get used to the name. Just like he did with every other name he says for the first time.

"Good, we are actually thinking about having kids maybe in a year or two." She said, Kripa was surprised at Angad's warm heart. She expected him to hate her from the years of minimal talking he did over the phone for the past five years. She remembered in the five years she was married to Sahil, Angad would call rarely and if she ever happened to pick up he would barely speak a sentence to her. He only called a few times just to check in and hear Sahils voice. But never had he talked on the phone so warm-heartedly as he did a few weeks ago on the phone and as he was doing right now.

She really liked company over when ever they had any, as it was very rare. When she had married Sahil her family was against it completely and never spoke to her again, in fact they completely kicked her out of there lives and when she had found out even Angad was upset about the marriage she was broken to know that hers and Sahil's love destroyed two sides of families. The only reason she didn't leave Shail was because Angad would call here and there and she knew that some where along the lines Angad would come back. She knew she could live if her family never spoke to her again, but she was happy to know that Shail's only family he had didn't turn his back on him either.

When reaching the car. Kripa opened the trunk of the car for Angad's bags. As soon as they got the luggage in the truck Kripa took the diver seat and Angad took the passenger seat.

He liked the choice of car Kripa had. It was a BMW two seated. Most of Angad's cars in the USA that he had were two seated. It was a white car and it looked so clean and perfect. Most of his cars usually were messy; he had to admit it was kind of nice to sit in a clean car that didn't have old files and junk all over the place.

"Kripa, I love your car," He said truthfully.

"Thank's, it was a gift your brother gave me for my birthday last year." He should have known his brother was the reason behind an expensive car like this. Angad could tell from Kripa's voice and innocent actions that she could never buy a car that most likely cost over a hundred thousand American dollars.

"I should have known," He mumbled under his breath. Kripa smiled when Angad mumbled the words. This day seemed so wonderful to her. She couldn't wait to see Shail's face when he sees his brother in the house when he comes from work. She could just picture the great reunion in her head.

With out flaw she turn towards her house driveway as Angad blew a whistle at the home. "Wow looks bigger then what I remember it to be." He said as he got out of the as soon as it jolted to a stop.

"Your brother had the west side of the house extended that's why" she said opening up the trunk of the car as she helped Angad with the bags to take inside. The house only had one maid that did all the cleaning and was supposed to do the cooking also but Kripa liked cooking for her husband so that job was left to her.

Angad and Kripa entered the house and as soon as they did he was breath taken at how well the place looked. It was ten times bigger then it was before and he was sure it was just from extending the west side of the house it self. His voice echoed though the spacious living room that was seen right at the entrance. The whole house was remodeled and he had to admit it looked grand. The kitchen looked over the living room, the once kitchen that used to hold tiled counter tops not help every expensive and very cool liking black granite tops.

"So where should I keep my stuff" Angad asked unsure if his old bedroom was still a room from all the changes that had been made in the house.

"Your old room." She said with a smile "it's the same as you left it except I had taken down your rock bad posters and hand it repainted and cleaned up the mess you left behind, other then that. Every thing should be the way you left if" when Kripa said this Angad leaped in joy to know that his room didn't disappear in the time he was gone. In the entire house the one place he cared about the most was his room and to know it was still his room kicked in a sense of belonging in him. Like he was meant to stay.

His joyous face made Kripa laugh. She loved to see how childish Angad was compared to Sahil. He seemed so happy to be home his talking was really like a younger brother. He acted so excited that she just couldn't help but feel happy with him. She felt happy to know that the house was no longer going to be quite and lonely in the morning. She felt happy to know that in the house she and Shail weren't going to be the only voices that would be talking in the large echoing home.

Before anything could be said Angad ran up the stairs with his bags strait to his room. He saw nothing was different the repainting was the same color of his old navy blue painted bedroom. The same king sized bed he had and the same black furniture. He threw his suitcases to the side of the room and feel on top of his bad in sigh. He smiled as his cheeks hit the middle of the mattress and his legs dangled out. He spread his arms out almost as if he was trying to hug the mattress around his arm but unsuccessful as the mattress was much, much lager.

After Angad had his few minuets in the moment he turned to see Kripa at the doorway leaning at the ledge. Angad couldn't help him self, he walked up to Kripa and put his arms around her waist lifting her off the floor a few inches crushing her like a teddy bare "can you believe it, I'm actually home!" Angad said happily.

"Ah Angad! Put me down" Kripa said in laughter. It had been such a long time since she felt such joy from seeing some one else so joyous.

He put Kripa down and took a step back with such a large grin on his dashing of a handsome face. His messy hair fit so perfectly with his image of a strong independent man. His light brown eyes danced in more joy then his lips expressed. His body looked like it was ready to do summer salts any moment.

"When is Sahil coming home?" Angad asked unable to control his excitement to see his brother.

"Not for another few hours, why don't you freshen up, and I will make you something to eat." Angad couldn't help grin when she said 'make you something to eat' he hadn't had a home cook meal since his mother died. When it was just Sahil and him. Sahil would always work and Angad didn't know how to cook so for that time being both brothers had lived off of take out and Chinese. When Kripa came along, Angad had never really stuck around to even look at her let alone taste the food she made. Now all Angad could think of was food.

Angad quickly went through his suitcase trying to find some extra cloths so he could take a quick shower and go down for his lunch.

*****

Down stairs Kripa prepared two plates of brown rice, corn, beans, and pasta. She set the two plates on the table as she to was hungry. Satisfied that Angad was sure to like her cooking she went back to the kitchen to get two cans of coke. Although she now lived with a man that had billions of pounds in his bank account she never really was able to adapt the rice stats life. She liked her simple class living. Cooking was just one way to make her self useful and occupied around the house as Shail didn't let her work, saying she was to live like a queen of his. She never minded the idea of not working but she liked to work and Shail not letting her was just one down fall she would just have to learn to live with.

Kripa knew she could join a country club of some kind with all the free time she had on her hands from not working but then again she didn't like the other ladies that went to the country club. Most of them were her age but married to men ten times older. Most of them were just there for the money and luxury and she just didn't like being around in an environment of that such.

By the time Angad came down to lunch, Kripa had every thing set perfectly. "Wow the food looks great!" he said as he took a seat at the table.

"Thanks" she said taking a seat beside Angad to eat her self.

Angad took a bite of Kripa's food and did an over exaggerating hummhumm to let her know how much he loved the food.

She smiled at Angad's childish behavior and couldn't help but like it. Him being older then her but acting ten years younger to her made her feel young too. When living with Sahil the time gap between there age sometimes is felt when she sees him so punctual and strict to a time schedule. She could imagine Angad to do something spontaneous but never Sahil. She didn't mean Sahil was a boring and unable to bare with guy, he was pretty laid back at times and gave her time even with his crazy schedule but sometimes she wished his would just for get work for just one day completely, and just drove off some where with her.

"This food is delicious." Angad said with a mouth full of rice in his mouth. He continually stuffed his mouth with food. He hadn't had a meal to great in such a long time, he ate like a madman even after Kripa had finished her own lunch.

Kripa was surprised to see how much he could eat. For a guy, no for any human being he ate a lot of food. She didn't even know it was possible to stuff so much in one mouth in one time. One after the other all he did was eat till his stomach was yelling to burst.

After the meal so finely prepared and so well eaten, thanks to Angad. He helped her clear the table and clean the dishes. They got a good system going on between the two as Kripa rinsed he dried.

"So, Angad what do you do for a living" she asked, she knew Angad had become very rich the years he spent away from home but she really didn't know much of what he did for a living.

"I sell and buy stocks from other companies, kind of like one persons lose is my gain." He said as he put one of the plates on the drying rack.

"Now you tell me, even with my brother's billion pounds, you still work around the house, why?" when he asked her this he had stop drying the plates and looked at her with his arms crossed. She looked back at him with large eyes. his gaze made her uncomfortable something about the way he looked at her gave a little bit of a chill down her spine.

"I don't know" She started to say as she went on continuing to clean the dishes "Sahil wont let me get a job so I like doing things around the house, you know to make me self useful. Sometimes I feel I have no purpose as I am always locked up in the house."

Angad knew what she felt like, as his work required the same thing of him. His work was all on the computer and the phone the only time he really had to go out of his house was to get groceries. Doing little things around the house made Angad also feel useful as it made him feel like he had something to do.

The door bell rung midway through doing the dishes "That's probably Sahil, go hide behind the couch, we will give him the surprise of his life." She said with a smirk on her face.

"Doesn't Sahil have the house keys?" Angad asked as he dashed behind the couch.

"He does but he just likes to ring the bell so he could see my face first thing at the doorway" she said with a giggle as she ran for the door. She looked back at Angad to see if he was perfectly hidden and as soon as he gave the thumbs up, she opened the door.

Hey every one I hope you liked the first part to this FanFic and I hope you now understand why this FanFic will still is very different from most story lines. Please do comment, as they are very important to me. I will continue the next part as soon as I get the chance as I'm hoping to update this FanFic in long Chapter's instead of short parts.
