At the murder spot

Prithvi is hiding behind a tree, waiting for Angad to come at Josh's murder spot.

PRITHVI(maniacally):"Come on Angad! You have got to come…..bahot koshish ke baad mujhe ye mauka mila hai, tumhe Kripa ki zindagi se nikaal phenkne ka….aaj ke baad tumhara saaya bhi Kripa ki zindagi par nahiin mandraayega…woh tumhaari zindagi se door ho jaayegi….aur main use haasil kar loonga…tum mujhe dobara hara nahiin sakte, Angad…you have got to come…and come fast!"

Angad arrives at the spot and starts looking around for Josh.

ANGAD(shouting):"Josh!.....(looking around)…Josh, kahaan ho tum….come on, ye phir se tumhaara koi stupid mazaak hai kya…main Kripa ko chhodkar tumse milne aaya hoon…stop kidding and come out…..kyun bulaya hai tumne mujhe yahaan…Josh!"

Evil sparkles in Prithvi's eyes as he sees Angad arrive and look around for Josh. With his blood-stained hands and madness playing in his eyes, he calls a PCR and informs of a high-profile murder that has taken place at this doomed place.

PRITHVI(devilishly):"My poor Angad…tum us din ko yaad kar-karke aansoo bahaaoge jab tum Kripa ko chhodkar yahaan apni barbaadi ki taraf aaye the.I feel so sorry for you, Angad….par kya karoon, majboor hoon."

Angad stumbles upon Josh's mauled body lying helplessly in a pool of blood. Time freezes for Angad and his feet go cold at the horrendous sight. Like a statue held in daze, he bends down over Josh's body and touches him with trembling hands………

ANGAD(his voice dying):"Josh……(his heart goes stone-heavy)...Josh…ye…..ye kya hai…No!...Josh, aankhein kholo..mujh..mujhse baat karo..please…ye sab..kya hai…(his mind goes really numb)….kisne kiya ye tumhaare saath…Josh, please say something."

Angad feels tears streaming down his cheeks as the brutal reality slowly settles in and Josh barely opens his eyes and moves a blood-stained hand towards his best friend…

JOSH(life dying out of his eyes):"A…Angad…."

ANGAD(stroking his head):"Haan Josh, main aa gaya hoon…tumhe kucch nahiin hoga…..tum…"

Angad's words die in his mouth as the flame of life dies out of Josh's eyes and his body goes limp.

Prithvi hears the police-sirens and with a fiendish smile on his face, he sneaks away.

PRITHVI( Satan incarnate):"All the best, Angad!"

Angad is so slapped to shock by turn of events that he just doesn't understand what's happening when three police-jeeps come to a halt and he is surrounded by policemen.

An inspector comes over to Angad and looks at Josh's dead body, murder weapon in Angad's hand and Angad's clothes stained with Josh's blood.

INSPECTOR(curtly):"You are under arrest, Mr.Angad Khanna. Hum aapko Josh ke khoon ke ilzaam mein arrest karte hain."

Angad can't even feel that reality as his eyes are still fixed on Josh's dead body. He is handcuffed and taken away and media reaches in no time to catch the implicated superstar. Angad is numb with shock, his cellphone falls near the murder spot and a call comes…..Kripa calling………

At the murder spot.

A constable sees Angad's phone ringing and picks the call.

CONSTABLE(gruffly):" Hello."

KRIPA(confused):"Hello,….(realizing it's not Angad)…aap kaun bol rahein hain…ye to Angad ka phone hai…(alarmed)….woh kahaan hai, sab theek to hai na."

CONSTABLE(rudely):"Pata nahiin madamji aapke Angad kab tak theek rahenge…unhe arrest kar liya gaya hai…samjhi aap?...Angad Khanna ne Josh ka khoon kar diya hai…murder kiya hai murder."

The constable clicks the phone off leaving Kripa in shock and the world spinning around her.

Angad is arrested and taken to police-station and a sea of mediapersons crash on Angad , asking,accusing and verbally bashing him and news channels keep flashing the news that how Angad has murdered Josh after threatening him earlier.The Khannas run to the police-station for Angad's aid as soon as they hear this news .

AT THE POLICE-STATION

Dadi, Naina, Dilip, and Karthik arrive at the police-station struggling through shameless journalists and shutterbugs. Police ward off the press and put them off boundaries.

Khannas meet the inspector and he is lukewarm to them.

NAINA(livid):"Ye sab kya bakwaas hai, inspector? How dare you? Aapki himmat kaise hui Naina Khanna ke bete ko arrest karne ki?,…aur woh bhi khoon ke ilzaam mein?"

DILIP(calming Naina):"Relax Naina…relax….inspector, ye sab kya hai?..kyun arrest kiya hai aapne hamaare bete ko…Josh uska sabse accha dost tha, who uska khoon nahiin kar sakta."

DADI:"Inspector, kya hum usse mil sakte hain?"

INSPECTOR(clearly):" Dekhiye, Angad ko humne Josh ke murder-case mein arrest kiya hai…Ek eye-witness ne humein inform kiay aur jab hum wahaan pahonche to jis haalat mein Angad humein wahaan mila, it's obvious ki usne Josh ko jaan se maara hai."

NAINA(almost sobbing):"Kya matlab?"

INSPECTOR:"Murder weapon aapke bete ke haath mein tha…uske kapde khoon se sane hue the aur woh Josh ki laash par jhuka hua tha."

KARTHIK(acting concerned):"So? Iska matlab ye to nahiin ki khoon Angad ne hi kiya hai!..ho sakta hai Angad uski madad kar raha hai."

INSPECTOR(laughs):"Aap bhi kamaal karte hain, sacch. Jo Angad kal tak press ke saamne Josh ko jaan se maarne ki dhamkiyaan de raha tha woh Josh ki madad karega…dekhiye, ab jo hoga court mein hoga…bail ki koshish karma chaahein to kar lijiye…kucch nahiin hoga."

DADI(sternly):" Humein jo karna hai woh to hum karenge hi,kya hum Angad se mil sakte hain?"

INSPECTOR:"Angad kisi se milna nahiin chaahta…jab se arrest kiya hai, chup hi baitha hai…seems guilty."

DADI(tearful):"Theek hai, lekin main use ek baar dekhna zaroor chaahoongi."

INSPECTOR:"Be my guest."

Dadi, Dilip and Naina slowly peek towards the cell in the gallery and see Angad sitting on a stone block with his head hung between his shoulders and eyes staring at the cold ground.The sight is too much for Naina to bear and she bursts into tears and runs out of the police-station.

DILIP(worried):"Mummy, ab hum kya karenge….ye kya ho gaya hai Angad ke saath..kaise bachaayenge hum apne bacche ko?"

DADI(strongly):" Sab theek ho jaayega, Dilip. Hum kal subah lawyer ke saath aayenge."

They leave and Karthik has a look of satisfaction on his face.


A few minutes later Kripa arrives at the police-station and is again hounded by journalists.

JOURNO 1:" Kripa, Angad ko Josh ke khoon ke ilzaam mein giraftaar kiay gaya hai…aapko kya lagta hai? Angad ne aisa kyun kiya?"

JOURNO 2:" Kya professional rivalry is hadd tak badh gayi thi ki Angad ne apne sabse acche dost ko hi maar daala?"

KRIPA(crying and disgusted):"Shut up! Just shut up! Angad ne kucch nahiin kiya hai…samjhe aap?.....Angad apnon ke liye jaan de sakta hai, kisi apne ki jaan le nahiin sakta…now, get lost!"

Policemen pull away the reporters as Kripa rushes inside the police-station….her hands trembling and tears streaming down her cheeks.

INSPECTOR(rudely):"Lo , bas aap hi ki kamee thi. Ye police-station hai, koi family-function nahiin ki Angad Khanna ka poora khanadaan aur uski fiance yahaan usse milne aate rahein."

KRIPA(uncontrollable):"Inspector, mujhe Angad se milna hai…right now,…mera usse milna bahot zaroori hai…use meri zarooart hai."

INSPECTOR:"I am sorry, Madam. Already uski family aakar ja chuki hai, aap kal lawyer le aaiye phir aap usse mil sakti hain."

KRIPA(crying):"Angad ne kucch nahiin kiya hai…aap log kyun kar rahein hain uske saath aisa…woh mera paas tha…woh Josh ka khoon nahiin kar sakta….(she breaks down).

Though the inspector doesn't really believe Kripa, he is moved by her concern and love for Angad. He offers her a glass of water and calms her down.

INSPECTOR(reluctantly):"Relax Miss.Kripa. Theek hai, agar aap Angad se milne par itna hi zor de rahee hain, to jaakar usse mil lijiye…main aapko sirf 20 minute deta hoon….par koi faayeda nahiin hoga….Angad react nahiin kar raha hai."

KRIPA(her face lights up):"Oh thank you, thank you so much."

A constable leads Kripa towards Angad's cell.
