Hi di, this ff is dedicated to you more than anyone else because it's through Bhalobasha that I was introduced to the wonderful Jodi of Angad-Kripa. As I mentioned in my comment, I've never seen the serial so you and only you are responsible for my love for these characters. So this one's for you'

Deepika, yaar, you're my soul-sistah'lol. I read "My Best Friend's Wedding" as much for your replies to my comments as for the ff itself, it's such a relief to know there's some one out there who's as loony as yours truly. I miss our posts and I miss my parts (AND YES! THAT'S A HINT, UPDATE SOON!!!!)

Jia sweetie, I can't tell you how glad I am to have found a fellow bookworm. Finally, I've found someone to share my love for reading with. By the way have you read Samit Basu, I'm currently reading 'the Manticore's Secret'. It's the second in the Game World Trilogy. I suggest you read 'the Simoqin Prophecies' first, it's the first book in the series and Manticore's Secret is kinda confusing if u haven't read book 1.

hey guys, this is an ff that is primarily based on KYPH and DMG, but with certain changes. The most important one being that while the story takes place primarily in Delhi and Mumbai, some things will seem strange to north Indians. That's cause I'm primarily a south Indian, a Malayali actually. So what u'll be reading is an ff based on Kerala society but set in north India. And oh, the characters are North Indian too. Now, In Kerala great importance is given to what we call "veettu peru" or family names. The Elite Families were all originally Land owning, similar to the Zamindari families of the north. They were the aristocracy, the "blue blood". With time, many of these families slowly experienced a decline in fortune. However, their status in society was as high as ever because of their "veettu peru" which was based on blood. Of course there were families that continued to be economically powerful as well. There is a third class in high society, the ones who made their money in businesses in recently, but the old families rather look down on them as they are the *nouveau riche*, "after all, blood tells" they say. Confusing I know, but here's what is really important for u to know. The above situation means that a girl is considered a good "match" if she comes from a family with a good "veettu peru" even if she doesn't bring a big dowry with her.

Now the second important thing is that the character of Kripa WILL NOT BE PLAYED BY NEHA BUT BY SUKIRTI (the current Dr. Riddhima in DMG), Angad of course will be played by Iqbal and Armaan and Riddhima will be played by Karan and Shilpa. I know many of you KYPH fans out there will be displeased with this casting but somehow when I thought of MY Kripa, it was Sukirti's face that came to mind. I'm sorry guys, Neha just didn't fit the character, she's just too "pretty", I wanted someone a bit more IDK 'unpolished' and raw, not to mention young. here's wht my kripa will look like (just ignore the guys😉 😆)

Btw I decided to skip the introductions of the characters themselves and go directly to the first chapter as I thought I would let to find out about them on your own. I'll just say that there's a 8-9 yr age gap b/w Angad and Kripa. Yeah, I know it might seem weird but it's important to the plot so deal with it😃. First chapter will be up in a few hours.

anywayz,,, back 2 ur fic... loved the concept, can't wait 4 part 1... but kripa played by sukriti???.,,. i think it'll b hard 2 imagine as when reading the name 'kripa' neha's image pops up like any othr character... but i'll try 😆 ... omg *gasp* 8/9 years difference??? 😆 thtz reli big... but i'm sure u'll hve something good planned!!hmmm... what else??? yeh i also like the name alot...

gr8 ........even i have never seen KYPH and my intro. to Angad and Kripa was thru Bheegi and Pallavi ....and i have fallen in love with their stories.........and deepu darling is too fantastic..........her vocabulary of gaalis is just superb and very apt.........

so if you are writing your FF inspired by these three excellent writers....im sure we have another hot shot writer taking birth.....

i knw what u mean, di's ff totally rocks. wanna know something? i saw the serial on youtube after reading her ffs and it was actually a disappointment😆 b/w di and ekta's plots i'll choose di's anyday😃. i knw it might be strange to have kripa played by sukirti, but after reading the next part, i think u'll understand what i mean whn i say she didn't fit the part. thanx 4 the wonderful comments🤗

Chapter 1:

Having being informed that Mrs.Gupta was away, the fashionably if rather unwisely dressed lady anxiously inquired if any of the daughters of the house were at home. It would be really too infuriating if all the Gupta women were to hide themselves, especially in view of the rumor she just heard. However, the middle aged woman held the door wide open.

"Where are they? The upstairs parlor? Good, tell my driver to park the car and send up some tea will you, no milk and Pleeez, No Oily Khana!!!"

Leaving the servant shaking her head in disapproval, the lady strode across the hallway of the gracious old house and up the old-fashioned stairway, half noting the faded furnishings with a dismissive eye. REALLY!!! She would be ashamed to life in such a house she thought failing to realize how the furnishings however faded actually added to charm and imparted a sense of history and permanence. However, as she secretly acknowledged to herself, while she might claim cousinship she was not a Gupta of Khanyti Guptas.

Mrs. Harshini Kapoor swept into the small room and looked at the three Gupta sisters grouped around an antique sofa by the window. She has to admit they presented a charming picture. The two elder sisters Riddhima and Sapna were sitting with their arms around each other's waist. The were very alike but Riddhima was considered the greater beauty, her flawless profile had been turned towards the window but she looked up at the sound of the door opening revealing beautiful eyes as green as a forest meadow surrounded by thick lashes and a sweet sensitive mouth with pink lips shaped like a cupid's bow. Her glossy black hair that fell till her waist in a silken waterfall when open was held in a simple pony. Sapna was seen at a disadvantage besides the beauty of the family but while her eyes were more hazel than emerald and her complexion a bit sallow, she was still a true Gupta with the famous straight nose and green eyes and was considered an extremely pretty girl. Both the girls were wearing simple cotton churidars, Riddhima in pink and Sapna in green. Countrified thought Harshini with a smirk; If only she knew that the girls' simple costumes served as an excellent background for their flawless natural beauty unlike her own designer wear that being meant for sculpted anorexic models mercilessly highlighted every flaw and fat pocket in her figure.

Kripa, the youngest of the three had nothing to declare her lineage except the nose according to Harshini. Her eyes while beautiful were a stormy gray and expressed their owner's every emotion. Her hair though thick was horrendously curly and virtually untamable. Her eyebrows looked like they had been drawn on with a ruler giving her a serious expression. She was moreover quite half a head shorter than her sisters both of who were around 5'6".She also had a habit of embarrassingly straight forward. Her grandfather would say she reminded him of a new born calf trying to find its feet. At that, her mother would sigh and express her hope that she soon finds it before making anymore embarrassing faux pas.

At the moment, she was sprawled at her sisters' feet, her arms and chin resting on Riddhima's lap. She was also scowling dreadfully though that of course could be a trick of those preposterous eyebrows thought Harshini.

"Darling!!! I came the instant I heard the news, is it true? Have they really broached the matter of a possible Rishta?"

Riddhima who had risen gracefully at the sight of their visitor now seemed to droop and grow pale "yes" she said in a faint voice, "it's true"

Harshini's eyes rounded in awe"Oh Riddhima", she gasped "Angad Khanna! Such a rich family and so powerful, why they are one of the top most industrialists in India and a branch of the ______ royal family to boot"

*Author's note: sorry couldn't come up with a suitable name and didn't want to use anything that actually existed*

Sapna taking the tea tray from the servant who had come up with the snacks just then said with a stern note in her voice "Angad Khanna may be a most eligible bachelor, but that does not automatically make him a perfect match for Ridz"

"Oh for god sakes Sapna", said Harshini tartly, "Angad's the biggest prize on the market and you know it. I've lost count of the number of snares that have been thrown at him over the years. Women would do anything to be his girlfriend; forget his wife. Riddhima should count herself extremely lucky"

Sapna frowned but Riddhima just gave a sad smile and said, "Yes, I am lucky I suppose". She sank down on the sofa and gazed fixedly out of the window.

Harshini now realized that the beautiful emerald eyes were swimming in tears. "God Riddhima! Anyone would think you have just received horrible news instead of a FABULOUS proposal"

"Harshini", said Sapna as she and Kripa hugged Riddhima, "How could you forget Armaan?!!!!!"

So that's it people, chapter one, next the proposal and Armaan's intro and maybe just maybe Angad as well😉. Tell me how u liked it till now😃
