Chapter 7: Mystery Man

As Ranbir, Kanya, Ayaan and Shanaya got down from the car, Ranbir waited for AS to get further away and grabbed Kanya's hand. She paused and turned back angrily.

K: Kya hai?
R: Tum yahaan kya karne wali ho?
K: Tumse matlab?
R: Mujhse matlab hai, dammit!
K: Agar tum is shaadi ko nahi maante, toh main kyun maanoon?
R: Tum sab ladkiyaan ek jaise hoti! Irritating!
K: You'd be surprised to know ladkiyaan ladko ke baare mein aisi hi sochti!

Ad with that, she turned her back on him and went into the house. Ranbir, helplessly watched her from behind. He kicked his car tire in frustration.

R: I hate girls.

He took a deep breath and walked inside.

Inside the music is pumping loud and everyone is on the dance floor. Ranbir scans the room for Kanya and sees her standing a few feet away, talking to Ashutosh. He walks over to them.

As: Hey Ranbir! Kaise ho yaar?
R: (smiling) Great! This is my wife Kanya.
As: I know. I've just been talking to her. I must say, you're a very lucky guy!

Kanya blushes and Ranbir looks down at her.

R: (thinking) Yeah, I guess I am. No! Ranbir! Snap out of it! You're hate guru!
R: Sure I am! (wraps his arm around Kanya's waist)

Kanya shot him an angry glance quickly.

As: So come on guys, join the party! Mujhe actually jaana hai. Mera aur ek dost aa raha hai.

Kanya and Ranbir make their way to the refreshment table and sit down.

K: Waiter, ek coke milegi?
W: Ji, memsaab
R: Aur mujhe ek shot tequila lunga.

Kanya stares up at him in shock, but that doesn't faze Ranbir. He grabs the shot glass and gulps it down.

R: Ek aur, please
Ashutosh comes and sits down next to them.

As: So guys, kaisi lag rahi hai, party? Are you two having fun?

RK: (strained) Yes

As: Good...hey look, mera dost aa gaya! Hey Armaan! Over here!

As the mystery man descends down the stairs, the disco ball's light falls across his face. It's ARMAAN! From DMG!
