Part 18: Kripa's heart started racing out of curiosity, the minute Angad handed the horse to the stable boy. Now, he was walking with Kripa, her hand held in his.
"So this is the famous Khanna farmhouse?", Kripa asked looking around while Angad observed her. Her hair that was in a messy low pony, had wet strands falling on her slightly flushed cheeks. Her lips, seemed a little dry, and her breath heavy. He smirked and looked away when she cocked an eyebrow at him. "No. The Khanna farmhouse is on the other end of the city. This is my farmhouse.", he replied.
"As in, your very own farmhouse?", Kripa asked amazed. The surprise in her voice made him turn his face towards her. "You seem surprised.", He stated, his eyes fixed on her. "Yeah well, I am kind of amazed. But then again, you are a world famous personality.",Kripa shrugged.
"So are you.", Angad voiced. Kripa nodded. "But you dont have your own farmhouse?", Angad inquired. Slighty annoyed, Kripa looked away. Seconds later, she looked at him again. "No. Actually, I am not really interested in farm houses and properties and all. But our family has huge farmhouse. It's there by my dad's name, and umm.. I am pretty sure he's going to distribute it amongst me and my brothers.", She replied with a small smile.
By then, they were at the door of the mansion. Angad opened and went in after Kripa. The house was decorated with white, blue and yellow roses, and and white curtains. There was no furniture in the room,thus it looked like a huge hall. However, there was a beautiful dinning table with a white cloth spread on it. The plates and utensils were set on it.
She felt Angad beside her. She stared at him, a little confused. Before she could ask anything Angad took her hand and lead her upstairs into a comfortable living room.
"Angad, what is all this?", Kripa questioned. Angad looked at her and shrugged. "There's a party at 8 tonight.", he said. "Oh. That's nice.", Kripa smiled perfectly concealing the hurt she had received. Why hadn't he invited her?
"Get comfortable.", Angad smirked noticing her just standing there. Kripa just nodded and sat on the couch. Soon Angad came with two cans of soda in his hands. He handed one to her, and then took a seat beside her. Kripa opened the can skillfully and drank out of it.
She broke the silence two minutes later. "So, why exactly did you call me here?", She inquired. She knew she had some explaining to do to her father, or at least that's what she thought she did.
"Kripa, I -", Angad paused, and then taking deep breath, he continued. "I wanted to talk about what happened at the party.". He saw Kripa's eyebrow's flex. "What about it?", Kripa asked. "We have to do something about it, I mean everyone from my coach to the press are going crazy. I don't know about you but I really need to give an explanation to my coach, and manager.", Angad said raising his eye brows.
"Excuse me?", Kripa sat up angrily. "I haven't, for the past two days been able to get out of my house with five press people roaming around me. I haven't been able to go to my office, i have been working from home, and receiving slight comments from my employees. Heck! I haven't even seen the sunlight for the past two days, because the minute I open the curtains, I know some stupid paparazzi would take photos. And to top it all my big brother hasn't even talked to me in more than mono syllables. So don't you dare compare my circumstances with your's.", Kripa finished, her eyes piercing through Angad's soul.
She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. She knew Angad didn't intend to her hurt her. And what was to be angry about in those words he spoke anyways. Angry at herself, she turned her eyes towards Angad. He was sitting there, with ab lank expression on his face, staring at the table in front of him. She could see hints of hurt in his eyes. "Angad,", she said softly,"I'm sorry. I'm just stressed out.".
Angad smiled, and kept his hand on Kripa's. "I know. And that's why we should do something before this situation gets out of hand.". Kripa leaned back against the couch, and kept her head on it. "I can only think of one solution.", Kripa sighed. Angad's eyes shone in excitement. "And what is that?", He asked. "A press conference.", Kripa said, looking at the ceiling. "We hold a press conference, and apologize.", she said.
Angad wrinkled his nose, and shifted angrily on the couch. God, this girl drives him crazy. "What's wrong with you?", Kripa voiced observing him.
He looked at her, and all his anger melted away. "We didn't commit a mistake, why should we apologize?And there is another solution.", he suggested. Kripa raised her eyebrows. He sighed and kept both of their soda's on the table. He moved closer, and held her hands. "Kripa, we could get married?", Angad asked with hope in his eyes.
Kripa just couldn't believe it. Marriage? They had only known each other for a less than three weeks and now marriage? True, she was in love with him. But was he in love with her. Her heart told her he was- the way he looks at you, the way he cares for you, and even the way he teases you are proofs enough for me, her heart said, why else would he give up his past image to protect your reputation.
But her mind spoke up too. What if he still plays his little "games" after marriage? What if he doesn't keep you happy? Kripa, what if he doesn't love you? What is the use of a marriage if it is only their as a word.
Reading her mind, Angad got on the floor, on his knees. "Kripa, I want you to trust me, love me," he paused looking at her wet eyes, "as truly, as honestly, as passionately, as deeply, as I trust you, as I... as I love you.".
Kripa couldn't find the words to speak. She loved him, and he loved her! She knew he did. She could see nothing but love in her eyes. "Angad, I...", she stumbled with her words, tears flowing from her eyes. "I love you too.", she sniffed, and smiled.
Angad got up and took her in his arms. "I promise to love you and keep you happy as long as I live.", Angad kissed her forehead. Kripa looked up. "Me too.", she said.

Three hours later, as Kripa rested her head in Angad's chest, she realized she hadn't told him about the night. Should she or should she not? Maybe after he purposes. That is when she remembered, he didn't purpose, well officially, he didn't. Her thoughts were disturbed when Angad broke the hug. "Kripa, we have to get ready for the party. I brought you a dress.", he smirked.
"Really?", Kripa asked. "Yeah, I'll show it to you.", he said dragging her with him into a bedroom. He went over to a closet, and took out a loose, sleeveless, broad strapped black dress that went a little below her knees. Kripa liked the hint of modesty in it. He lay it down on the bed, and as Kripa stood staring at it, he wrapped his arms around her waist. "You like?", he asked foolishly. "I love.", Kripa replied in the same tone. Angad smiled and buried his face in her neck.
"Kripa?", he spoke. "Hmm?", Kripa asked while examining the dress. "You want to see your jewelery?", he asked. Kripa smiled. "Sure.", she said.
He walked to a side table, and came back holding a box. He opened it and revealed a pair of two small diamond earrings kept beside a shining bracelet completely covered with small square diamonds. She gasped. "Angad!", Kripa exclaimed. "This is too much. I'm sorry, I can't accept this.", she shook her head unbelieving. "Kripa, this nothing.",Angad argued. "Are you crazy? This is practically treasure!", Kripa insisted. "No.",she heard him say,"you are treasure.".
She bit her lip, when Angad gave her a really desperate look. "Please, Kripa?", He pressed further. She smiled reluctantly, as Angad placed the box in her hands and hugged her tightly.
"I almost forgot.", Angad whispered in her ears huskily. Kripa pulled away, and looked at him. His eyes were suddenly dark and intense. Passion dripped from his movements, as his hand hid in his pocket, only to come back immediately, with a box in it. He smiled, as Kripa tried to keep up. He opened it and slid the diamond ring in her ring finger, holding her hand gently.
She looked up and a broad smile sprang on her lips. He smiled in return, and kissed her cheek. He went to door, then, and mouthed "I love you", as he closed it and went outside. Kripa quickly took a shower, careful not to wet her hair. She got dressed, and was putting on her shoes when she heard a knock on the door. She looked up, shocked to see Prithvi and Roshan running towards her. Roshan quickly greeted and hugged her running out to meet Meghna.
Kripa looked nervously at Prithvi, who grinned looking at the ring in her finger. "Who thought you'd fall in love with Angad Khanna?", he smirked. Kripa smiled and hugged him. "We are cool right?", She asked raising her eye brows. "We are ice cool." He joked and kissed her forehead.
