A week later:

After a long and busy day at work, Angad knocked on Armaan's cabin. When he didn't get a response, he took the liberty to open the door slightly and see if Armaan was there. He was slightly disappointed to find that Armaan was gone. He'd been missing his friend; he needed a boys' night out.

Slightly disappointed, he headed home. Little did he know that Armaan, Riddhima, Simone, Nishant, Palak (Nishant's baby girl) and his beloved wife, Kripa, were all waiting for him at his apartment.

He was taken aback seeing so many people at home, seeing the living room decorated with flower garlands, seeing all the women dressed in red, Armaan and Nishant in a sherwani.

Angad: what's going on?

Riddhima: Its karva chauth....and Kripa invited us over...

Angad: cool...where is Prithvi?

Armaan, with a similar question in his mind looked at Simone when she started speaking.

Simone: Prithvi is out of the country for a couple of months....some important business stuff. Armaan smiled slightly. And I'm about to leave too, I have a party to go to.

The truth was, she didn't want to be present while the two couples happily completed all the karva chauth rituals.

Nishant: I'll get going too....I have to go see Kanan....Angad...you and Kripa will come to see Kanan this weekend as well right?

Angad: for sure Nishant...we'll come this weekend...and just like every weekend...Kripa will stay the entire day...I'll come pick her up later...

Simone, Nishant, Palak, and Kanan hugged everyone bye, yelled out a bye for Kripa, and left.

Angad: why is Kripa still inside?

Riddhima: she's getting ready.......um...woh...bhai...usne bhi vrat rakha hai na...so she's taking a while getting ready...it's her first karva chauth with you na?

As if on cue, Kripa walked out looking heavenly beautiful in a red sari, with the necessary jewellery, and a face clear of any make up. That's what he loved about her. She was naturally beautiful; she needed no make up to make her look good. She smiled at him, and he returned even a wider smile. Armaan looked at her and decided to let her know of Prithvi's absence.

Armaan: kya yaar....why did Prithvi have to go out of the country right now?

Kripa's head whipped in Armaan's direction. Armaan gave the slightest nod as their as met. Kripa gave a half smile to him and turned to go into the kitchen where Riddhima followed her.

Armaan: what's up dude...you look tired!

Angad: yeahh...I'm drained...I went to look for you in your cabin...you weren't there.

Armaan: Yeah...after lunch I pretended to be sick and took a leave...Riddhima was getting moody about the whole karva chauth thing....

Angad: I didn't even remember that it was today.

Armaan: what? Are you kidding me? Kripa hasn't been chanting about it all week?

Angad: no...She hasn't said a word

Armaan: Kitne lucky ho yaar....Ek tum ho, shaadi ho gayi phir bhi biwi pareshaan nahi karti...hamari to shaadi se pehle hi halat kharab ho gayi.

Riddhima: Halat kharab ho gayi...TUMHARI??? Fast for an entire day without even a drop of water and then you'll know ki halat kharab kaise hoti hai.

Armaan made a puppy face in return of her glare while Kripa and Angad giggled. Angad brought his hands together, and sat up like a professional, and cleared his throat.

Angad: so Armaan...you love my sister?

Armaan: more than you do.

Kripa: oh I wouldn't bet on that one Armaan.

Riddhima: She's right...No one loves me as much as bhai does...sorry Armaan.

Armaan: fine...I love you the second most...

Kripa: sorry Armaan...second spot is already taken by me.

Armaan: kya yaar...mera number kab aayega?

All three of them laughed at Armaan as he sat with a frown on his face.

Angad: jokes apart guys. Armaan...how much do you love my sister?

Armaan: what up Angad? Did someone say something to you? Why are you asking these questions?

Angad: as her brother, I need to know.

Armaan: I really love her Angad....she's the first and only love of my life.

Angad: in that case...shall we fix the engagement date?

Riddhima got up from her spot, sat next to Angad and hugged him tight. Kripa looked at Armaan because she knew he had something special planned to propose Riddhima. He'd wanted it to be a surprise.

Armaan: Umm...Angad...not yet.

Riddhima pulled apart from Angad and looked at Armaan completely shocked.

Armaan: don't get me wrong Riddhima...I do love you. Believe me when I say I do. It's just that...I'm not ready to get married yet...I'm sorry baby.

Riddhima: It's okay....um...excuse me.

Riddhima got up and rushed out into the balcony. An Angered Angad nearly got up to get a hold of Armaan's neck, but Kripa's soft hands stopped him. She looked at Armaan.

Kripa: Armaan....go talk to her...

Angad watched as Armaan walked out into the balcony and turned Riddhima to face him. He ran his thumbs across her cheeks and at that moment, Angad knew Riddhima was crying. He couldn't tolerate anyone hurting his little angel of a sister for even a second.

Angad: I am going to...

Kripa tugged on his hand again. She led and unwilling Angad to their bedroom to give Armaan-Riddhima some privacy and so that she could tell him what was going on without Riddhima finding out. She sat him down on the bed, stood in front of him, and put her hands on his shoulders.

Kripa: Angad...Armaan does want to marry her....it's just that he has everything planned to propose her. He wanted to propose her first and if she said yes, he was going to come and ask you for her hand in marriage, traditionally. You nearly spoiled it for him there. He just covered. He's taking her out tomorrow, and he will be proposing her tomorrow. So just relax.

Kripa's phone rang; she looked at the screen, then at Angad who was looking at her. Startled, she hung up.

Angad: who was it?

Kripa: some kids who keep prank calling. Anyway, I have your clothes set out, go get freshened up.....the moon will rise any minute...and I'm famished.

About 15 minutes later, Angad was all freshened up and changed. When he stepped out, Kripa was sitting in front of the mirror, lost in her thoughts, one of her hands on her stomach, and another hand playing with her mangalsutra.

"KRIPAAAAA", Riddhima's ear piercing scream brought her out of her trance and made Angad jump. Both exchanged a quick glance and ran out of the room to see Riddhima jumping around excitedly while Armaan stood with his eyes closed, face puckered up, and with his hands over his ears.

Riddhima: Chaand nikal aaya!! The moon's out!! It's out! It's out! It's out!

Kripa laughed and walked towards her. They picked up their plates filled with various things needed for the rituals and walked out into the balcony while the men followed.

Kripa and Riddhima finished all the rituals. Being the Indian wife she was, Kripa bent to touch his feet, but he stopped her in mid way, asking her not to bend in her state. Kripa recalled her conversation with mummy-ji from earlier in the morning, when mummy-ji had advised the same. Mummy-ji had also explained the importance of karva chauth and the rituals to Kripa.

Soon after dinner, Armaan and Riddhima took their leave from Kripa and Angad. Armaan dropped off Riddhima at her apartment and went to the Khanna mansion where chief, DK, and mummy-ji waited for updates. Armaan explained everything in detail. And he was updated on the next steps of the plan. Now things were going to get nasty. It was important that they took each step with caution and made sure that Naina didn't get to Angad-Kripa before the planned time, or any later. They also had to make sure that Kripa and her unborn babies were safe.

DK: does Angad even know that she's carrying twins?

Armaan: she hasn't told Angad anything.

Chief: that's good. She has to be rude to him.

Armaan: I don't understand...why is that so necessary?

Chief: for a very simple reason...if she is rude to him and he feels that she is annoyed by his presence, he will leave her alone whenever she needs to be alone. And she will be sneaking out a lot from now on, it makes things easier.

DK: um......Chief....it's not making anything easier for her....for all I know...it's making things hard for her...

Chief: YOU THINK I DONT KNOW THAT?? WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO HUH?

Mummy-ji: relax...calm down...I'm sure you know the pain of being away from your wife, you've endured it for years.....do you not understand how hard it is for Kripa? Especially now...when she's pregnant with his babies...it's her first pregnancy, they're missing out on all the joy of this because of your plan.

DK: seriously...let's just sit him down and tell him everything.

Chief: NO! That is not good enough. He won't be angered enough. He might not even believe us. The first question he will ask is why we didn't tell him before...we're already so far down in the plan; do you want to ruin everything? Kripa's hard efforts...her pain and agony of the past three years....her parents' death...can you guys forget all of that? And DK....don't forget that the love of your life was snatched from you by Naina. I won't let her get away so easily. I'll put her through hell.

"He's right."

Everyone was quite shocked to see her walk in on them. She came out of the blue. How long was she even standing there?

"How did you get here?" DK was shocked.

"I got Angad to drop me off me just around the corner." Kripa replied.

Kripa: I told him I needed to see if all the painting was dry so I could start the next task tomorrow.

DK: in a way it's good that you're here. How long will it take to finish this house? The plan is set to put in action about two months from now.

Kripa: we have ample time. It will take me about a month and a half to finish this house. While we're moving here, I will need to shift mummy-ji to the apartment...it's too dangerous keeping her with you or chief.

Armaan: how about I take her to my apartment? You know...the whole thing could cause problems if Angad sees her.

Kripa: it won't...I'll answer his questions...besides...Riddhima's hard to convince. Don't worry, I'll keep Angad at the border; probably have a little fight just before I bring her home. How is Naina Khanna getting here?

Chief: Money. Naina Khanna's biggest weakness. Kripa, Angad has a key to her locker, and her account information...including the PIN. Somehow, you need to find it, and bring it to me. Once we're ready to bring her here, we'll empty her locker and her bank account...and transfer it to your account. As soon as she gets this information, she'll come here as soon as she can.

Kripa: you want me to steal the key and the information?

Chief: unless you can come up with something else.

After minutes of thinking, DK spoke up.

DK: no you don't...you'll be given the information.

Kripa: What?!

DK: yeah....Angad.....Angad will give you the money.

Kripa: why would he do that?

DK: because you will ask him to do so.

Chief: that's it! Perfect! Ask him....no...Don't even ask...DEMAND him to transfer all of the property and money onto your account...take the power of attorney from him too.

Kripa: but chief...what am I supposed to say?

Armaan: Threaten him. Tell him you will leave if he doesn't do what you say. Tell him that you will abort the baby.

Kripa: are you out of your mind?? That way I'll have both Angad and Riddhima against me.

Armaan: I'll take care of Riddhima....don't worry about that...

Chief: sorry Kripa...

Kripa sighed, nodded, turned around and walked out of the mansion. Mummy-ji wiped a tear from the corner of her eyes. She glared at chief.

"If you had been faithful to me, none of this would have happened."

I'll be jumping from one week to the next, like I mentioned before, this ff is coming to an end...I dont want to drag it too much. most of the suspense is out anyways. anywho, I'm out until next sunday people. wow! that was a great two parts! lol..i am so tried but just got the PM and needed to read! hmm so i think mummyji is angad's real mum and cheif the papa..wonder what angad is going to say to ths demand and also what will happen next! cant wait to read the next part! its sun..wel nearly here in nz! so please do update soon!
