Part 15:

Walking out of the gates, riddhima closed her eyes and smelt the air; Home! It wasn't the cleanest place on earth but nothing could stop her from loving this place. Armaan noticed this and gave a sweet smile at her, holding her hand he brought her out of her trance.

"kya soch rahi thi?" he said pushing along the trolley, "kuch nahin…" "happy to be home na?" she gave him a cheeky smile nodding. "Armaan… Ridz!" turning to the side, Rahul and muskaan made their way towards them, "welcome to Mumbai guys…" Armaan said hugging them both, " thanks yaar… anyways we will see you tomorrow… " nodding they farewelled each other and carried on.

"Armaan mera ghar toh yaha se right hain…" riddhima said looking out the window while Armaan missed the turn, "pata hain… but tum mere ghar aa rahi ho…" "par kyun" she said turning to face him, "aise sawaal kyun pooch rahi ho…you rather go home all alone or be all alone with me…" he said winking, "Armaan…please na… mujhe ghar jana hain… bahut thaki hoon main…" pleading at him she pouted her lips, Armaan couldn't say no to that cute face of her, giving in he took a u-turn and drove towards her house. "kuch chaiye toh phone karna..ok" 'haan Armaan pata hain… main bachi nahin hoon… ab ja… tujhe kal hospital main dekhoongi…" "good bye nahin kahogi?" "good bye… kehdia bas?" moving closer to her, he whispered slowly, "tujhe pata hain America main aise good bye nahin kehthe…" "sach? Kaise goodbye kehte hain?" she said crossing her arms taking a step away from him, "well…" moving closer to her, he took hold of her waist and tucked her hair behind her ear, "well" she replied softly lost in his eyes, inches away his lips made their way near his but were stopped when riddhima pushed him away "sorry Mr Malik…yaha India main aise good bye nahin kehte… byee…" she said waving her fingers at the door; ruffling his hair he left out with an embarrassed but cheeky smile on his face.

Laughing she locked the door behind him and sat on the couch with the digital camera in her hand, flicking through the photo's of the mini holiday it was one she was going to remember and cherish forever.

Opening the door, she stepped in to a familiar place; familiar faces familiar smiles; returning each of their greetings she made her way to the canteen where she was sure to see everyone. "Dr Riddhima…" turning her head she saw Dr Keerti walking towards her, "hi aunty…kaise ho?" "bilkul theek hoon beta… Goa kaisa tha?" "amazing aunty" she replied dreamingly, "that's good to hear… maine suna ke tumne dr Rahul aur Dr Muskaan se already mulakat ho gaye…" she smiled nodding, "well then… sab ko introduce karke hospital dekhana… theek hain?" "sure aunty…I'll see you later…" saying so she left towards the canteen.

"ridz!" turning their heads, they saw riddhima walking towards them dressed in black work pants and a purple top, with matching jewellery; "hi guys… kaise ho?" she said sitting down on the empty chair, "fine yaar…" "we've been working our buts of here aur tum goa main behtke kuch bhi nahin kiya…" said Atul sarcastically, laughing she picked up the cup of coffee the waiter had left for her, "toh bol sapna shaadi ki tayari ho chuki?" "thoda sa.. hogaya… par tujhe pata hain na aaj mera akhri din hain…" "ohh haan… phir humare Dr Sapna shah se.. Mrs Sapna Amit Patel… hm?" Sapna blushed, "oye hoye…" said Atul laughing, Anjali looked around and took a sigh of relief it was so good to see Riddhima back as her old self; Thanks Armaan! "ek minute.. Armaan kaha hain?" "hiya Guys!" "speaking of the devil…" mumbled Riddhima unde her breath at Anjali winking, she giggled and turned to him, "hi Armaan…" he just shrugged her off and sat down between Sapna and her, as it was the only chair left; as everyone talked she whispered quietly to him, "kya hua? Mujhse naraz ho?? Kal ke liye shorry…" "hmm… theek hain.. .tum aaj itne jaldi yaha kyun ayi… you could've come with me…" "Armaan.. mere paas gadi hain aur mere ghar tumhare ke liye doosri taraf hain… so common sense hain ke that for you to not waste petrol I come and you come by yourself…" "yeh common sense nahin hain ridz… its unfair… I haven't spent any time with you…." "no time…ek hafte Goa main kya kiya?" "that's different…" before she could reply she was stopped by Anjali's voice, "tum dono chup chup ke kya kehrahi ho?" "uhh kuch nahin Anji… aise he…pata hain do nayi doctors hain…" "haan pata hain… Keerti ma'am ne bataya…" "kaha hain humari nayi colleagues?" Atul asked ridz, mouth full with banana cake; "hum yaha hain…" Riddhima smiled as the others turned around, standing up she moved towards them.

Armaan took the responsibility in showing and introducing everyone and everything to Rahul and Muskaan; as he claimed to riddhima that they were "his friends before coming to India…" laughing she shrugged her shoulders and let him do the work of settling them two in and himself after so many years.

Later that afternoon she made her way towards her cabin but was stopped by sapna and anajli who dragged her into the old locker room. Where they used to hang out during their internship days but everyone specialising in their own area all had cabins now, they would every now and then go into the locker room to remember old times or even just talk it was better then the doctors lounge, interns were hardly there and it was always away from the hustle and bustle of the hospital.

"guys.. kya hua?" she said nearly yelling, "shh… ridz…" Sapna said, 'haan ridz..i, "itni hulchul kyun kar rahi ho… we're just wanting to talk…" "can say it nicely na… feels like your kidnapping me…" she said jokingly, laughing they sat down on the benches in the middle of the room; "toh batao ridz… Goa kaisa tha… I man without us…" Anjali asked teasingly, "it was fine.." riddhima said trying not to blush, "just fine? Or amazing? Wonderful.. exquisite…" "all of them" she said letting out a breath, "ohh so something had happened?" "what makes you say that?" "c'mon ridz.. how many years have we known each other… we're all like sisters you can't lie to us… did you tell him?" said Anjali, "uhhh…" "ohh… so he confessed?" said Sapna, "uhh… no…" "phir?" they both replies at the same time, letting out a little giggle riddhima held onto their hands and spoke, "both…" as the screamed in excitement she shh'ed them down and explained how the confession had happened, by the end they were in awe of how romantic it was.

"I wish Amit ne mere saath aise hi "I LOVE YOU" kiya…not fair…" giving a playful hit on her shoulder she smiled at her best friends, tears came to Sapna's eyes and as she pulled them all in a hug, riddhima asked what was wrong, "I'll miss you guys so much..." "we'll always be here.. and your only getting married… not like your gonna die or anything…" said riddhima, wiping the tears from Sapna's face she again asked what was wrong, "ridz… shaadi ke baad main aur amit Dubai shift horahi hain…." "kya!" "haan… he got an offer that was to good to turn down, he didn't want to go but I said yes… I made him say yes…" "aww Sapu… congrats yaar…" she said pulling her into a hug, Anjali looked on as she already knew the news.

As they talked and joked around by the end they all had tears in their eyes, "who died?" turning around, they saw Armaan standing with Rahul and Muskaan; laughing they all wiped their tears away and stood up to see Armaan, "armaan pata hain sapna humein chod kar jar rahi hain…" "well no duh ridz… shaadi tumse nahin amit se kar rahi hain…" "Armaan!" she sad hitting him playfully, "sapna aur amit dubai ja rahe hain…" "sach?" sapna nodded and gave a fiant smile, pulling her into a hug Armaan was like an elder brother to sapna and she dearly going to miss him. Their whole group she was going to miss, they weren't just friends and colleagues they were family, they were brothers and sisters they share bonds which no one could tear apart.

Rahul and Muskaan noticed this, noticed how close they were to each other; they realised what they had missed out In America; yes they had friends but not like this.

"and don't think you to aren't invited…" said sapna to them both, as they looked on confused, "to the wedding… please come…" "how can we say no… yeh Rahul?" Muskaan said happily she was glad to be here, glad to make new friends and build new relationships.

After a tiring day Armaan made his way to the neurosurgery department reception to drop files of, as he left them there he went and waited for the lift to come; entering he leaned against the wall massaging his head, stopping on the paediatric ward he stepped out trying to find riddhima when he bumped into something, looking down he heard a familiar voice, "phir se aap?" "tum!" "aap dekh kar chal nahin sakte? Everytime I run you come and then machar comes and bites me…." "machar?" he asked confusingly, "uska naam kya hain? Happy?... nahin…uhh… love…lovely…nurse lovely…" "nurse lovely?" "haan… aur koun…everyday she follows me with this big injection….hence uska naam… machar hain… bites me with that thing… grr…" she said thinking of the many other times she had got her with the injection on her arm, "ohh so phir aap bhag rahi hain… nurse lovely se…" "haan… and if you don't move… phir se mujhe sew se maregi…" "ohh ji… kaha hain.. woh bachi…" looking around she ran into the janitors cupboard hiding from nurse lovely, "ohh Dr Armaan ji… aapne ek choti se bachi ko dekha?" "bachi?" "haan ji… woh uhh Minnie… kaha bhag gaye phir se… ooff…" hitting her head she went looking on to 'find' her, "coasts clear…" he said knocking on the door, stepping out Minnie looked left and right to make sure he was telling the truth, turning to face him now she smile thanking him, holding out her hand she introduced her self, "hi main hoon Minnie…" holding his hand out he shook her little hands and introduced

Himself, "Dr Armaan malik…" "doctor? Doctor nahin lagte…every day aap hospital main ghoomte hain…" he laughed, "every day I see you tab main hospital main ghoomte hoon… chal tumhare room par jaye…" "kyun?" "tujhe dawa khanna hain…" "par mujhe injection nahin chaiye dookhte hain…" "not with me…" "ha ha aap koi magician hain ke injection lagate dhook nahin hota…" "something like that… come I'll show you…" "fine…" as she led him to her room, she sat up on the bed and waited for him. She gulped when she saw the needle, "don't worry… I promise it wont hurt…talk to me about something…" "kya?" "tumhare ghar main koun koun hain?" he said trying to distract her as he gave her the injection, "well… mummy daddy toh nahin hain… aur bhai behen bhi nahin hain…" "mummy daddy nahin hain?" "haan… bhagwan ke paas hain…" she said it so lightly, like it didn't make a difference but we all know how much a little kid needs her parents, "toh tum kiske saath rehti ho?" "masa aur masi ke saath par woh toh delhi main rehte hain….par main toh bimaar hoon na… so yaha Mumbai shoft hogai aur yaha rehti ho…" as she said all of this there was no sadness in her voice as if she accepted everything and it didn't matter to her that no one was here when she needed them the most. "done!" she was shocked, "done?? It didn't even hurt…" "maine kaha na? Dr Armaan ke haatho main magic hain…." She giggled, "thanks… friends?" she asked sweetly, he gave a nod; " I've never had a boyfriend before…aap mere pehle boyfriend hain…" " toh tub hi mere pehle girlfriend hain… hmm…" smiling he ruffled her hair and left, poor girl he thought; but she was sweet and very funny she had made his day, now it actually felt like everything was
