A true story
Hi! I want to tell a story from my heart. I met a woman who is so helpless to save her son which made me cry while I was doing my internship in ER in hospital.
This woman came to ER and screaming for her son to save. I immediately called the doctor and doctor came and examines him and admitted to the ICU. Doctor was asking that woman all question, I was standing there. The woman said that when he born, he has some neurological disorder. So his brain is not working as normal. He is constant on oxygen. He is only 16 months old. The doctor told her that we can treat him now but it is not permanently. He may live 6 months or may be 2 years. The facial expressions I saw on that woman made my heart cry out.
The woman was sitting in the room when I went there to check on oxygen. I asked her about his father. And she started to cry more. I was consoling her when she started to tell her story.
She and her husband met six years ago in college. They both finish their college and in last year her husband decides to join army. He took all the training and when he got back, they got married. Her husband was working in some company as a computer programmer and that time she was pregnant. They were so happy about this child. When one day they get a letter that he has to go to Iraq as they needed him, He left her pregnant wife. Before one week of her delivery, he came home on two weeks leave. But after one week her husband got a phone call that he has to leave immediately for Iraq. They both had some arguments and she went in labor. Her husband took her to the hospital and she delivered this baby boy. Her husband left that day just seeing a glimpse of his child. After some days her husband died over there. Her husband had seen his child for just one time. She has nothing that a son who is a last sign of her love. And god is taking him from her.
I didn't have any words to say to her. I can feel her pain but I didn't know how I can help because I was helpless. We can all prey for that child.
