The black knee length dress compliments Kripa's body, she accessorises with a pair of hoop earrings along with a silver necklace, she has trouble with the clasp when she feels someone take the ends of the necklace from her, she looks in the mirror and smiles seeing Angad, he hooks her necklace and centres it for her, he stares at her in the mirror for a brief second before tracing his lips across her shoulder, her eyes closed as she feels his breath trailing along her neckline, Angad swiftly moves her hair out of the way as he kisses her collarbone, knowing very well that if she doesn't stop him he'll never stop, she turns to face him so he can no longer arouse her by kissing her neck, only Angad replies by kissing her, he wraps his arms around her waist pulling her into his body, Kripa can't help but resist, her arms find their way around his neck, neither stopping, both hearts beating. His hand makes its way from her waist to her face, his fingers trailing across her cheek, he opens his eyes and pulls away leaving her dazed and confused, he grins at her, leans closer and whispers in her ear.
"We're getting late"
She breathes deeply coming back to her senses, she opens her eyes and kisses his cheek softly.
"Well that's your fault"
He chuckles and hands her coat to her, she slips in to it and follows him out of the bedroom and out of the house into his car.
The gates are already open for the guests, Angad finds a parking space and gets out of the car, he makes his way to the passenger side and opens the door for Kripa, he holds his hand out, she takes it and he helps her to get out of the car, he shuts the door and locks it before holding out his arm for Kripa, she wraps her arm into his and they walk towards the main entrance where Gayatri is standing, she smiles and greets them both warmly and ushers them inside.
Kripa looks around the house, it had been decorated with silver streamers and balloons with banners saying "Happy 25th Anniversary" in several places in the hall. Angad leads her outside into the garden where the party was taking place, the outside looks even more beautiful than the inside, it is decorated with lights and balloons, amongst the guests Kripa spots Armaan entertaining others, he catches sight of them and excuses himself, he wanders over to them and greets them both pleasantly with a hug and thanks them for attending.
While Angad and Armaan exchange pleasantries Kripa's eyes scan the garden for her arrogant father and she finds him standing amongst guests, she has the urge to walk over to him but the outcome of her last meeting with him comes to mind, she holds back slipping her arm through Angad's but however much she wants to avoid him Armaan urges them both to meet his father, Kripa tenses up as Armaan manoeuvres his way through the crowd to his father, Angad glances at Kripa and can tell she's scared, he wraps his arm around her waist and it is then more than ever she is thankful for him in her life.
Armaan ushers his father through the crowd to where Angad and Kripa are standing, he takes a look at them and instantly recognises Kripa, she avoids his gaze hoping he doesn't say something untoward with Armaan standing there, and almost like he can read her mind, Rohit greets both Angad and Kripa politely and tells them to enjoy the party, Angad looks confused, he glances at Kripa who looks equally bemused, Armaan excuses himself, Kripa looks at Angad
"I'll be right back"
Angad nods his head and watches as Kripa disappears into the house, she follows Rohit upstairs to his study, she peeks inside and sees Rohit standing by the window with a glass in his hand, he clears his throat.
"I can see your reflection in the window"
Kripa jumps, she straightens herself out and pushes the door open, she hesitantly walks into the study shutting the door behind her, he turns to face her, he didn't look happy, he makes his way to the other side of the desk and leans against it staring at Kripa.
"I'm not a reporter" Kripa says clearing the air, she breathes deeply as she stares at him, she bites her bottom lip, he nods his head.
"I thought as much" Rohit replies
She isn't sure what to say, Rohit turns to pour himself another drink when she drops the bombshell.
"I'm your daughter" Kripa says with trembling words, he pauses for a second before continuing to pour his drink, he turns to his original position, taking a sip from his glass before speaking.
"I don't have a daughter"
The words are like daggers to her heart, she feels her eyes well up but fights them back, she swallows her saliva and steps forward, he finishes his drink and turns to pour another one when she stops him, she makes him face her and reaches for his hand, she can no longer hold the tears back, as she lifts his hand to touch her face.
"It's me, the little baby you were forced to give up, I am your little girl Dad, your Kripa"
As the words flow so do her tears, she can't help but wrap her arms around her father, her cheek against his chest, her tears damping his shirt, continuously muttering that she's his daughter. He closes his eyes and breathes deeply before prying Kripa off of him, he puts her at arms length and puts his glass down.
"What is it you want? I have a perfect life here, I cannot afford to spoil it with this drama"
Kripa shakes her head and is about to argue when he pulls out a cheque book, picking up a pen and flipping the book open, he looks up at her.
"Name your price" Kripa is taken aback, she stares at him in confusion
"You price, to stay away from my family" The tears continue to fall from Kripa's eyes, she steps back away from him.
"I don't want your money!" Kripa yells at him, she wipes her tears away and stares him in his eyes.
"I want my dad!" Kripa yells at him again, she steps forward grabbing his hands again pushing her words across to him, but they have no effect on him, he pulls away from her and again demands to know her price, but Kripa has had enough.
"That's it! I came here in hopes that once you realised I was your daughter you would hug me and make up for lost years"
The words have no effect on him again, he chuckles as he pours himself another drink, drinking it whole he looks at her.
"If you thought you would come here and automatically find a place in this family, then you're highly mistaken"
Kripa takes a few steps away from him disgusted with him and herself for even trying to make him reason, she shakes her head at him and leaves the room, she runs down the wooden stairs only to bump into someone, she glances and sees Armaan who looks concerned at her sorrow expression, but before he has a chance to inquire about Kripa tears, she pushes past him running down the rest of the stairs, she runs into the garden and scans the place for Angad, she finds him talking to a few people, she runs to him burying her head in his chest with her arms wrapped around him, he looks worried, he gently strokes her hair and excuses himself, he takes Kripa inside, when they reach the hallway he stops and lifts her chin, he can tell instantly she's been crying and he knew very well whose fault it was, he looks towards the stairs ready to go up and give Rohit a piece of his mind but Kripa needed him, he opens the front door and disappears outside with her clutching onto him.
Back inside Armaan is still standing in the middle of the stairs wondering what happened to Kripa, he feels someone nudge past him, his eyes look toward the person and he sees his mother rushing towards his father's study, he follows her wanting to ask her if she knew what happened with Kripa, but Gayatri slams the door but it doesn't quite shut, Armaan peeks inside and can see his mother staring at his father angrily, he knows he shouldn't eavesdrop but something makes him stop and listen. He hears his mother's faint voice, he pushes the door open slightly to make their voices clearer.
"What did you say to her Rohit?" Gayatri asks in a stern voice, Rohit turns his face away from her but Gayatri pulls him and turns him to face her demanding to know what happened.
"I merely asked her how much money she wanted to leave us alone"
Gayatri steps back looking shocked, her shocked face turns back into her livid expression.
"How could you Rohit! To our own daughter!"
Armaan looks confused, did Gayatri say daughter? No, he thinks, he probably misheard but Gayatri repeats the word in another sentence, Armaan stands there listening as Gayatri reprimands Rohit for talking to Kripa like that, Gayatri stresses that Kripa is there daughter and Rohit has no right speaking to her in that way. There is no way he is mistaken, Armaan thinks to himself, Kripa is his sister? But if that is true then why hadn't he known about her, why had she been living elsewhere all this time, there are many questions swimming around in Armaan's mind and he knows he can only ask one person.

Kripa is curled up on her sofa next to Angad who is soothing her, gently stroking her back in silence, Kripa had told him what happened when they were in the car, and right now all he wants is to comfort Kripa, she had stopped crying and is now resting her head on his chest, his shirt was damp from her tears but that didn't matter to Angad. Her eyes are closed, her breathing is slow, she can feel Angad's chest rising and falling, she can hear his heart beating it is like music to her ears, a lullaby making her fall asleep.
And she would have fallen asleep only they hear a knock on her door, Kripa opens her eyes and glances at Angad, she moves slightly allowing him to get up from the sofa, he opens the door and greets the person outside, he makes way allowing Armaan to enter the house, Kripa looks up and sees Armaan, she sits up straight making space for him, Angad offers Armaan something to drink but Armaan refuses, she glances at Angad who leaves the two alone, she gestures for him to sit and he does.
At first he avoids looking at her but after a brief moment he does, her eyes are red from crying, he feels sad, he reaches out and takes her hand in his, he looks up into her eyes.
"I know Kripa, that you're my sister"
Kripa's closes her eyes, she knew he would find out one day, she just hadn't prepared for it and she definitely didn't expect it to be so early, she feels tears falling from her eyes and hastily wipes them away, she glances at him and can tell he's fighting an emotional battle inside, she gently squeezes his hand and smiles, and gently touches his cheek.
"It's ok Armaan, I'm fine"
"I know you're not fine, I don't know what dad said to you, but I know it can't have been good, I just… I have so many questions"
Kripa urges him to speak his mind and so his questions come pouring out, Kripa tries her best to answer his questions without crying but after all his questions are done she can't help but cry, Armaan puts his arm around her shoulder pulling her close to him, she rests her head on his shoulder crying, Armaan wipes her tears and pulls away smiling at her.
"I don't care what dad says, you are a part of our family and I'll make sure you are given your right"
Kripa smiles and hugs him when the front door opens, Rahul watches as Kripa hugs Armaan, he shakes his head and doesn't wait even a second, he turns around and leaves slamming the door shut making both Armaan and Kripa jump, they look at each other wondering who it was, Kripa gets up and looks outside the window and sees Rahul hastily opening the door to his car, she mutters under her breath and opens her front door yelling his name, he rolls his eyes and turns to look at her.
"What?" he says with a sigh, she steps out and walks over to him
"What's wrong, why did you just leave like that?"
"Well I could see that you were quite happy with your new brother"
"Rahul what are you…"
"Forget it, I'm out of here"
Rahul opens his door and gets into the car, he drives off leaving Kripa mystified about his behaviour, she slowly heads back into the house where Angad is keeping Armaan company, Angad looks up at her.
"What did Rahul want?"
"I'm not sure, he's been a bit off lately"
Kripa glances at Armaan and smiles.
"Rahul is my younger brother, I've literally raised him" Kripa tells him
"That's great, if Rahul's your brother then he's my brother too"
Kripa smiles, Armaan gets up, he shakes Angad's hand and gives Kripa a hug and leaves, Kripa finds her place back in Angad's arms, he rests his chin on her head.
"They're so different to each other" Angad speaks breaking the silence, Kripa stays in his arms trailing her fingers across his arm
"Rahul has known you since ages and he thinks you're going to abandon him, Armaan has known you for a few days and he already accepts Rahul as his brother even though he doesn't know him"
Kripa shifts in her position, now playing with the cuff of his shirt.
"Rahul needs time to accept everything, this is a lot for him, since he was young he's been the only person in my life that I called family"
Angad clears his throat and nudges her slightly, she reaches up and ruffles his hair
"Sorry, you as well, but now he's faced with the harsh reality that I have a family, that I have parents and a brother, even if my father won't accept me, that doesn't change the fact that Rahul is my brother, if in the future my dad accepts me and tells me to move in with them, then Rahul's coming too, we're a package deal"
Angad agrees with her but doesn't know how to make Rahul see that Kripa isn't replacing him with Armaan, but adding him into the family, he makes it a point to reason with Rahul, just as Rahul had tried to reason with him when it came to Kripa.
**************************
The bar is crowded, Angad spots Rahul sitting at a table chatting to some wild haired girl, Rahul glances and spots Angad standing a few steps away from them, he whispers something to the wild haired girl who leans in and kisses his cheek then leaves, Angad regards the wild haired girl with a polite smile before taking her place opposite Rahul, he orders himself and Rahul two beers and allows the bartender to serve them before getting down to business. Angad sips his beer then puts his glass down.
"So who was she?" Angad asks deciding it is better to start off with something easy rather than get right to it, Rahul looks confused for a second then realises who Angad is taking about and refers to her as "just a friend" even though he knows Angad won't believe him. Angad continues with the small talk for a few minutes and it is only when he feels the time is right does he question Rahul about his little stunt back at the house, Rahul merely tries to change the subject, Angad isn't going to stop, he tells himself and Angad doesn't, he persists knowing very well Rahul would eventually cave in, and he does.
"I come in and see MY sister hugging…"
"Her brother?" Angad asks finishing his sentence, Rahul shrugs his shoulders and sips his beer finishing it off, he leans back with his arms folded and a glum look on his face, after a few seconds he leans forward again with his arms resting on the table, he allows Angad to finish his beer before carrying on with their conversation.
"Kripa's my sister, I love her, and I'm happy she's found her family I seriously am"
Rahul nods his head as he knows Angad may not believe him, Angad waits for the bartender to remove their empty glasses and replace them with two more glasses filled with beer, Angad passes Rahul a glass and takes one for himself, he looks at Rahul's expression, he seems to be telling the truth, Angad thinks, he nods his head assuring Rahul he believed him but urges him to continue.
"But a part of me is sacred, there I admitted it, I'm scared that Kripa will leave me"
Angad shakes his head displaying his annoyance with Rahul.
"How can you think that? If your sister wanted to leave you then she would never have become your legal guardian"
"I know, I guess a part of me deep down knows that she'll never leave me, but it also knows I can't predict the future, who knows what will happen when Kripa's dad accepts her, what if he won't accept me? Kripa will happily forget me when she has her family"
Angad shakes his head again, he takes another sip of his beer, one lasting longer than the previous ones, he glances up at Rahul and frowns.
"Seriously, I thought you knew your sister better than that, I'm tired dude, tired of trying to explain to you that Kripa will never leave you, but if you want to believe that, then go ahead"
Angad takes one last swig of his beer and gets up, he leaves some money on the table for his drinks and leaves. Rahul contemplates whether to follow him but decides he has no need to follow him, he finishes his drink and orders another one. Outside Angad waits for a few minutes, he had expected Rahul to follow him but he hadn't, what did that mean? That Rahul actually thought Kripa would leave him? Man the guy is insecure, Angad thinks as he gets into his car, he waits another minute before starting the car and driving off, if Rahul wanted to be an idiot, he could go ahead and be one, he'd tried his best to reason with him but Rahul didn't seem to listen.
