Hello everyone,
A few days ago I had asked about fanfics in this section and a few people had encouraged me to write one. So here is my first FF for Love Story. Based on the response I get I will think about continuing this.
In the past I have written a few FFs for the Kasamh Se forum in the past. I am posting links here for people who might be interested.

Besides these I wrote for a couple competitions too, and if there is an interest I will provide links here.
I really hope you guys enjoy this story and I would appreciate if you could leave behind your comments and critiques. I look forward to hearing from you what your thoughts are.

"Aur kitna time beta, hum late ho rahe hain. Dev ne teen baar phone kar liya hai ab tak aur waise bhi aaj sirf mehendi hai, shaadi nahi." A demurely decked up Mrs. Shekhawat called out to her niece who taking unusually long to dress up today.
They had moved to Mumbai 4 years ago, right after her husband's mysterious death. Kunal and Arjun had immediately insisted that they, Shruti and she, move away from Delhi, someplace where their past and/or family connection would not be known.
Shruti had barely coped with the sudden demise of her father figure when they have moved. Living away from family and friends in a completely new environment had taken away the spark in her. She had not only become quieter, but it looked like she had suddenly aged by a few years and become more mature.
Yet, once Shruti started going to college, her vibrancy had returned to an extent. She made very good friends with Simran, however, Simi could not ever replace the spot held by Jhilmil, her best friend from Delhi.
Dev's moving to Mumbai, a year later had further smoothed things for Shruti. She now spent more time outside her room, yet she was still not the same chirpy Shruti she had been in Delhi, especially the one who enjoyed life to the fullest once she started college.
However, seeing her so excited, since the last few months with all the wedding preparations had been a relief of sorts for Mrs. Shekhawat.
In her room, Shruti took one last look at herself in her full length mirror. Satisfied with what she saw, she finally made her way to the living room, constantly repeating to herself that she will be just fine. Her excitement was obvious on her face and the total effect of her looks stunned her aunt.
"Shruti! Kitni khoobsurat lag rahi hai meri beti! Bhagwan tumhe boori nazar se bachaye." her aunt exclaimed seeing her not so little girl all dolled up and applied a small dab of kajal from her eyes to the back of Shruti's ear.
------
As the car approached the hotel where the function was to be held, Shruti could feel her heart beating heard against her chest. She was certain that her aunt could definitely hear the not so gentle thudding of her heart against her breast in the tight confines of the car.
The thought of seeing him today, after such a long time was ragging a nervous havoc throughout her body. But this was what she had been preparing herself for since the first time she realized she was in love with him. She had to do this, for her love, for him the man she loved and for the chance to spend the rest of her live with him.
When Shruti fidgeted with her hair and her dress in the car, trying her best to postpone the moment when she faced him, her aunt spoke.
"Beta you look just perfect. Aur agar hum yahin ruke rahe to bahot jald yahan traffic jam ho gayega. And I think I see Dev impatiently waiting for us at the top of the stairs." Her aunt chided.
With a quick movement of her eyes, Shruti saw where her aunt had pointed and saw him. When she saw him standing there, he looked just like she had imagined, laughing and joking with his friend, barely aware of her of her arrival or presence.
The anticipation of the meeting, coming face to face with the only man that had caused her heart to flutter, caused her to blush. Shruti ascended the stairs slowly, one step at a time, with her eyes downcast and coyness replacing every other feeling in her being. She was afraid to look up, only to find her dream broken.
As she neared the end of the stairs, she started raking her head to come up with the perfect thing to say. She found it heard to think of something that would make the most difference and yet would completely cover up her nervousness. She knew she had been preparing herself for this and could not accept it that her careful practice of years would abandon her today.
"Shruti, finally you are here. Simran was almost ready to give up on you and make me drive to your place to bring you here." She heard Dev calling out to her. So finally he noticed her, she sighed, still hesitant to look up and see him in the eye.
