PART 56:
Pyaar hai khuda to ibaadat karo,
Pyaar hai khuda to wafaa karo,
ya khuda pyaar mile to aisaa mile,
jise pyaar par shaq naa ho.
Angad brought the pastries that he had picked on his way home, "here my love….sweet and luscious pastries just like your lips…..just for you," he fed her a bite and licked off the rest from his fingers and her lips, "delicious!"
"Angad…please bring your laptop here….I have to show you something….it is very important….I am serious," Kripa said as she savored the sweet pastry and the taste of his lips on hers.
Angad relented and came back with his laptop, "here you can have this one as long as you become MY LAPTOP!" He pulled her into his lap as she logged on and clicked on the folder XYZ.
"XYZ? Yeh kaun sa folder hai?" Angad was suddenly curious and then shocked once he saw the contents of the folder, "KRIPA! Yeh pictures kahan se aayi?"
Kripa found it too embarrassing to see the photographs again, she just slid off his lap and handed the computer to him, "itne bhole kyon ban rahe ho Angad? I want to know the same thing…..tumhe sharam nahin aayi hamari aisi photos lekar?" she yelled.
Angad turned the computer off and closed his eyes; he was as shocked and hurt as she was, "believe me Kripa….I have no idea who took those pictures….why would I do that jaan? Hamari suhaag raat hamare jeeven ki sabse pavitra raat hai…..bhala main us bandhan ka aisa behooda mazaak kyon karoonga?" his voice cracked up as his feelings were deeply hurt.
"Angad….jhooth mat bolo….hamare alaawa aur wahan koi nahin tha….tumne apna camera auto par chhod diya hoga….tumhari aadat hai chup chup ke photos lena…haina?" she could not control her anger anymore.
"Kripaaaa!" Angad opened his eyes and looked at her in disbelief, "yeh kya keh rahi ho Kripa? Kya tumhey mujhpar vishwaas nahin? Tum mujhpar shaq kar rahi ho?" his voice trembled as he asked.
Kripa looked away and bit her lower lip, "Angad….I trust you more than anyone else in this world…..but why did you have to do this? Main tho tumhari diwaani hoon….yeh photos lekar aur phir inhey chupakar hamaare pyaar ki be izzati ki hai tumne…you have belittled our love Angad!"
Angad grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him, "you are wrong Kripa! You are mistaken…..did you see those photographs carefully….they have been taken from various angles…..if it was my camera on an auto setting, the pictures would be clicked from one angle only…..you are a smart woman, couldn't you figure this much out? I am disappointed in you Kripa….kitni aasaani se mujhpar ilzaam lagaa diya tumney," he had tears in his eyes as he said that.
Kripa was stunned at his comment; she raised an eyebrow and stared at him, "Angad….kya iska matlab yeh kisi aur ka camera tha? Someone was there in our room?" she gasped with horror at that thought.
"I don't know if someone else was there, but there was certainly a hidden camera somewhere…..and how did that person plant these pictures on my home computer?" Angad said worriedly.
"Angad….if they can take pictures secretly in a world renowned hotel like Waldorf Astoria, they are smart enough to do anything then!" Kripa was mortified and ashamed that she had doubted Angad's intentions, "I am sorry Angad…..mujhey tumse pehle hi poonch lena chaahiye tha….I am so sorry," she cried out and hugged him tightly.
Angad consoled her, "that's OK Kripa…..just remember you are too precious to me….I would never harm or belittle you sweetheart…..ek tumhara hi tho sahara hai mujhey…yadi tum mujhse naraaz ho gayi, tho main bilkul toot jaaonga Kripa….bikhar jaaoonga," he hugged her tightly as she felt his warm tears soak her neck and ears.
They held each other for a while and then Angad asked, "how did you find out about these pictures?"
Kripa released herself from his grip and told him about Simone and Priya's conversation from the park that morning.
"WHAT RUBBISH?" Angad was outraged, "Simone is such a bl**** b****! I have always treated her like a little sister…..and Priya? I have not seen or heard from her in years….what does she know about me?" he got up in rage and started to dress up, "Kripa…this is getting serious and complicated, I need to go and meet Shabbir right now….yeh sirf Mishti ka kaam nahin hai…..ismein bahut log shaamil hain….I am going to get to the bottom of this!"
"Angad….itni raat ko?" Kripa asked
"I don't care Kripa….Shabbir has given me permission to meet him anytime whenever I get some information," he dialed Shabbir and informed him that he was on his way.
"Main bhi chaloongi tumhare saath Angad," Kripa dressed up herself and accompanied him.
SHABBIR's HOME:
"Come in," Shabbir greeted them in his night robe. His wife also greeted them and retired to bed after kissing Shabbir good night.
"Hmm…so what's up?" Shabbir sat across from them on his dining table.
Angad pulled out his laptop and logged on, "Shabbir….I have to show you something."
Kripa touched Angad's arm, "Angad….do we have to?" she was embarrassed to show those pictures to anyone.
"I understand Kripa," Angad reassured her, "Shabbir actually someone has planted some personal and intimate pictures of ours on my computer…..looks like they are trying to created misunderstandings between us and make their harassment case stronger."
"Hmm….very cunning indeed!" Sahbbir pondered, "I can understand your sensitivity Kripa…..why don't you just transfer that folder to a USB stick and I can have my computer guy analyze the folder…..like where it originated from…..don't worry, we will not open it's contents," Shabbir reassured Kripa.
"I think that is a good idea," Angad tried to locate the folder in order to transfer a copy for Shabbir but was shocked, "My God! It's not there anymore! Shabbir….we just saw it at home…..in 20 minutues they have managed to erase it from my disk!" Angad was baffled and frightened, "these guys know what we are doing and what our next move is! Shabbir…..that is eerie!"
"So, they probably know what progress and evidence we have in this case," Shabbir said seriously.
"We have been bugged?" Kripa said in horror, "it means our apartment has been intruded by someone?"
"Not apartment Kripa…..probably Angad! If they want to overhear my conversations with him too, they would have bugged your husband."
Angad and Kripa were shocked and stunned!!!!
"Angad," Shabbir held out his palm; he gestured him to take his watch out without speaking.
Angad took out his watch and gave it to Shabbir.
Shabbir turned it around and looked at it carefully and placed his finger on his lips to shush them; he pointed to a small metallic chip at the back of the watch. Angad and Kripa were mortified; they looked at each other and then at Shabbir. Shabbir kept his finger on his lips and took the watch away to a corner and placed it inside a metallic safe. He locked the safe and came back, "that would serve as evidence against them…..now they will only hear the noises from the safe!" he laughed.
Angad buried his head in his hands, "My God Shabbir…..they know everything so far…..that is why they are always a step ahead of us….but why? What will they get? I am not a spy or an important man….why are they doing this to me?" Angad cried out and pounded his fists on the table.
"They know they have a false case, so they are trying to fool proof their case…..they are disgusting I have to say," Shabbir sounded outraged too.
Kripa felt worse after these new turn of events; she resolved in her mind that unless Angad accepts guilt himself, she was not going to believe anyone else, not even herself!
They left for home, fearful of what was in store for them next. Angad's mind tried to solve the mystery of these unknown perpetrators- at this point everyone was under suspicion! He was going to find out for himself and maybe not hassle Kripa anymore- he did not want to see her get hurt again and again- she was too sensitive and if there were any more surprises like those photographs again, she would get too disturbed. He wanted her to stay focused on her movie and herself…..he would deal with his problems himself from now on!
