Dedicated to Mansi and Berkley (My Guardians)
God Damn my Bladder
Kripa was sitting on her seat sweating and trying not to move to much. It had been half a hour since Angad and Kripa left the diner, and now Kripa had to use the bathroom really badly. She cursed herself for not going in the diner or at home. She prayed that Angad would need to stop at some gas station or anywhere soon. She also prayed that she not have any accidents while in the car. God damn my bladder thought Kripa.
Angad noticed Kripa's uneasiness, and decided to start some sort of conversation. "Are you feeling okay?" Angad asked. Kripa stiffly nodded without saying anything. "Are you sure, because your kind of sweating bullets right now," Angad said. Angad was freaked, what if this girl was having a stoke or something! She ran away from home, if she died or something her parents could have him arrested. Crap! "Do you need something?" he asked with the oddest expression on his face. "No, I'm just a little tired," answered Kripa quickly. "Do you need water or something?" he asked grabbing a water bottle from the backseat. "No! No water please!", yelled out Kripa. Now Angad was really freaked out. This girl was reacting to water in such a horrific way as if water were some monstrosity! He decided to end the conversation right there, and simply concluded that this chick was
weird.
After another 15 minutes, Kripa's condition was horrible. She kept twisting and wiggling her legs left and right and breathing as if she were giving birth or something. Kripa's behavior was really bothering Angad now. Why was she moving like that he kept thinking. "Okay dude, really what's the matter? Any problems, do we need to stop someplace?" he asked annoyed. An immediate smile cam upon Kripa's face. "Yes please, can we stop someplace," Kripa pleaded to Angad. "Okay where do you need to stop?" asked Angad "Anywhere, I don't care," hastily said Kripa. Suddenly Angad sighed. "You should have told me a little earlier. We past the exit just a second ago, the next exit is 15 minutes away," he explained looking back at the exit he passed. "No! I cant wait 15 minutes!" declared Kripa loudly. Kripa's sudden and loud declaration caught Angad off guard. He lost control of the wheel for a minute but quickly came back on track.
"What the hell is your problem huh!" yelled Angad. Kripa looked down. She wanted to cry so badly, she wanted her daddy so much. "I have to use the bathroom," she said softly. "What?!" Angad asked beginning his ear forward. Kripa rolled his eye's. "I have to use the ladies room, badly," she said a little louder. Angad stared at her for a minute with no words to say. Kripa was so embarrassed right now. And to tell you the truth, so was Angad. At the same time he wanted to point and laugh at Kripa so badly. Luckily he didn't. "Is it an emergency?" he asked. Kripa slightly nodded. Angad rolled his neck and said "Hold on". He zoomed through the traffic and arrived at the next exit in record time of 5 minutes. He quickly pulled over by a gas station, and Kripa literally ran into the bathroom. Just as Kripa left Angad check his seat to make sure Kripa didn't make any accidents on his lady love…his car.
"Back in New York at Kripa's house, the roof had fallen upon them. "I want you to find my daughter this instance!" demanded Karan to the police officers. Nandini was crying on the sofa as the police looked over Kripa's room. "Sir, your daughter didn't run away. And according to our records she's over 21, and so she has full right to her life. We're sorry," explained the officer. "What do you mean! She cant even take care of herself", yelled Karan. The other policeman came in and added his two cents saying, "Maybe she ran away with a guy. It's the latest trend these days," he joked. Karan's eye's went wide as he turned to Nandini who began sobbing even more.
In the gas station Angad bought himself some chips as he waited for Kripa. The radio was on and there was a broadcast on the Virginia Tech Massacre. Angad being on the road hadn't heard about it. A sudden serious frown came upon his face. Just then Kripa came out of the bathroom. "Thanks. Lets go," said Kripa. As they were walking to the car Angad told Kripa something that shocked her. "We're taking a detour," he said. "What? Why? Where?" nervously asked Kripa. "I just heard there was a shootout in Virginia Tech, I have a friend who goes there," he said getting in the car. An expression of sympathy came upon Kripa, "Was your friend one of the victims?" she asked. Angad looked at her for a second, "No, he was the gunman," he said seriously as they drove away. Kripa was shocked and scared all at the same time. The stranger she was in the car with was friends with a homicidal gunman!
