Suddenly the doorbell rings, Ganga opens it and Kashish is standing there
K - come on sweetie, we have to go
G - already?
K - yea Ganga......Sujal will be back soon, thanks for taking care of her
G - its ok
Jaspreet picked up her bag, gave Ganga a small kiss and left with Kashish. Ganga watched them leave from the window, she saw Jaspreet laughing with Kashish and a tear fell down her eye, she wiped it when Sahil came
Sa - Ganga!
G - yes?
Sa - why do you do this to yourself! You know that she takes them as her parents but still you insist on getting close to her!!
G - she's our daughter Sahil
Sa - oh really? so why is it she calls you aunty? and me uncle? bolo Ganga!
G - what can I say! even though she doesn't see me as her mother that doesn't mean I will stop seeing her as my daughter!
Ganga sat on the sofa with tears trickling down her cheeks, Sahil sat beside her and put his arm around her shoulder
Sa - what do you think? That I don't see her as our daughter? of course I do....every time I see her I long to hold her in my arms but I can't
G - is that why you are so cold with her?
Sa - maybe.....
G - Sahil, you should play with her...be close to her
Sa - why Ganga? so that at the end of the day Kashish comes and takes her away? so that I can watch her go from our lives again? no Ganga I'm not like you....and I can't see you go through this every day
G - I am willing because I love her.....as much as I love Lakshya, I will wait for the day she calls me maa and you papa and Lakshya her brother
Sa - that's not going to happen.....they will never tell her
Sahil stormed upstairs and Ganga cried to herself. Meanwhile at the Garewal house Kashish is trying to get Jaspreet into the bathroom, she is chasing her all over the house
K - Jaspreet! behave yourself and get into the bathroom
J - no!! you have to catch me!
K - your papa will be back soon
J - catch me catch me!!
Jaspreet runs out of the living room and bumps into someone, she looks up to find Sujal standing there, Jaspreet looks at him steps back
J - hi daddy
S - what's going on here?
J - nothing.....
K - your daughter won't get into the bathroom
S - my daughter? oh I get it....when she's good shes yours and whens shes naughty shes mine
K - yes.....now tell her to go upstairs now
Jaspreet looked at Sujal
S - you heard her, go on
Jaspreet frowned and headed upstairs, Sujal hugged Kashish
K - she's naughty.....like you
S - so....she'll grow up to be beautiful.......like you
Kashish kissed his cheeks and turned to go upstairs but he held her back
K - let me go
S - stay with me for a while.....I was thinking....why don't we try for another child?
K - Sujal.....we can barely handle Jaspreet
S - we'll manage, as it is Jaspreet was asking me why she doesn't have a younger brother
K - what! what did you say?
S - that you were too busy
Kashish hits Sujal and pushes him out of the way and goes upstairs where Jaspreet is sitting outside the bathroom
J - finally, I've been waiting for ages!!
K - sorry....lets go now
Kashish took Jaspreet into the bathroom and began giving her a bath, after the bath Kashish took Jaspreet into her room, it was fairly the same as before but now the cot had been removed and a small bed was there and there were lots of toys in the room, Jaspreet sat on her bed while Kashish did her hair
K - so did you have fun at Ganga auntys?
J - yes mum! we played so much
K - that's nice
J - but I don't like Sahil uncle....
K - what? why not?
J - because...he doesn't talk to me properly
K - how come?
J - I don't know.....I said hello to him, he said hi then went upstairs.....he's a meanie
K - don't call your uncle a meanie
J - but he is!!! daddy doesn't like him either
K - is that so?
J (giggles) - yes he says Sahil Uncle has an anger problem
K - I'll sort him out later
J - ooo daddys in trouble
Sujal comes inside
S - why am I in trouble?
J - because you said Sahil uncle has an anger problem
S - what? when ......you weren't meant to tell your mum! go to your room!
J - but I am in my room!
S - well then go to mine!
Jaspreet runs out of the room, Sujal looks at Kashish who has her arms folded
S - what? come on you know he gets angry easily
K - well that doesn't mean you have to tell her! she was calling him a meanie
Sujal laughed
S - why?
K - because she said he doesn't talk to her properly
S - see....he has an attitude problem as well as an anger problem
Kashish sighs and sits on Jaspreet's bed, Sujal sits next to her and she puts her head on his shoulder
K - what are we going to do when she finds out?
S - she won't......I won't let it happen
K - but one day.......she will
S - no Kashish! she will never find out
Sujal storms out of the room and into his room where Jaspreet is sitting on the bed, he cuddles her and holds her in his arms protectively and kisses her forehead, Kashish watches from outside
K (thinks) - I hope Sujal you are right and that she never finds out.....because the person who will be affected the most is you
coming up - Sujal's cousin brother comes to visit.....lots of masti for Jaspreet😆
