She is not accusing you in any way dude. She is just looking out for what she wants and realizing its not happening with you.
She has her way of thinking, you have yours. Who is to say which is right and which is wrong?
Your no strings policy is breaking her heart but you are not seeing that dude. She wants more than you are willing to give.
A broken wedding is a nightmare for a woman socially. For men, the society does not even care. Why is he so scarred by it? Was he in love with her?
He wants her but not willing to bear the cost. If he can't, then he has to let her go. He doesn't quite want that either.
Men are sensitive and rejection is not easy to take.
It’s not about society but the person he is. He trusted someone and she left him at the last moment.
You have a point Pritee. It must have felt like a betrayal to him. And he got left at the worst time. If she had told him earlier, it might have been easier to take.
Driver & the food
Ajji was on the phone the entire day next day, final exams at school was over, summer was beginning, they barely got 6 weeks off at the school
But she vowed she was not going to teach, the Coaching department wanted some money back with penalties she promised she would return and signed papers to have her salary garnished in the new school year. She was sad and irritated she was obsessed with making more and more money but here she was giving up what she had made
Ajji didn’t know she would be getting Rs.2,500 less the new school year
Ajji didn’t tell her she was planning to sell the acreage in Ratnagiri
Her brother and sister wanted to hang out, she spent the first week sleeping and watching old Marathi movies with them
Sulu’s baby was quiet big now at 3 months
Suhasini texted her everyday “just saying hi” she informed
She knew there was a motive in there
Kunal had gotten 92 in Math, and Suhasini was willing to adopt Punky if it meant she would be his coach next year
She had already informed the school she didn’t want to teach the kid
But they hadn’t agreed to her demands since she had canceled pre scheduled summer lessons for other kids
She cried in the shower and refuse to answer Indy’s texts, she avoided going to Alpana and Jay’s house for socials
“Cramps” she told Alpana before school closed one weekend two weeks later she again used the excuse
“Go to the doctor… how can you get your period within two weeks?”
“Whattt?” Punky scrolled through her texts with Alpana to find what she had said
Alpana sent forwards all day
Some fwds from her endless parting, Indy was in most of them
“U said u had cramps two weeks ago”
“Oh…. Sorry… I don’t know why I sai that…. Lekin aaj hai cramps”
“Mere ghar aa ja, rest kar le”
“To rest?”
“Yes… I haven’t seen your gorgeous eyes in a few months”
“Oh please”
“Aaja… Indy aa raha hai aaj for dinner”
“Umm… no…”
“I will bring food,”
“Ajji cooks over here”
“I know re”
She gave money to her siblings to go to the mall and spend the day shopping, she curled up and lay in bed
Ajji told her she was goingt o satsang but to see the son in law of a friend from satsang about the sale of the mangrove
The son in law was a lawyer and promised to help resolve the legal mess around some of the paperwork
There was a knock on the door around 2 in the afternoon, she had showered and curled up in bed, watching YT shorts and slept off
It was Alpana and INDY
It was beginning to drizzle
The skies were grey and stormy
“Alpanaaah?” she growled
“Yes its me… open the door re”
She unbolted the 16 locks Ajji had and opened
She didn’t look at Indy
“I have food I told u”
“I know… I made Punjabi food” she giggled setting the large picnic basket down
“Did u tell him I have cramps?” she growled
“She DID” he nodded coolly
“Chhod na… chalta hai” Alpana claimed
Indy walked around the tiny living room looking at the pictures on her wall
He could see her room with pictures strung across lines and lights all around
She was indeed a hippie he thought chuckling to himself
Alpana was setting the food in the kitchen
“You don’t have a job any more? Drive friend’s wife around everywhere?” she growled
“Who is asking?” he was amused
“2 baja hai, tumko office nahi hai?”
“I don’t work on Sundays”
YIKES….
It was summer vacay for her
days were blurry
So happy that he came to meet her
