He lays it all out there but she hesitates. He has no qualms about admitting that he is attracted. She is too, but trying not to acknowledge it.

“I am not looking for a fling”

That one line says it all. She wants someone who is serious in the long term. She doesn't see him as being that person.

Inching closer

He picked her up from her house. Ajji was inside, her siblings were out doing their thing. She wondered if any neighbors spied, since it was a narrow street and a nice Saturday evening.

Young and old couples walked along the sidewalk. He looked happy and well rested.

“Hey” he called out under his breath just like he always did

“Can I pay you my share of the tickets?”

“Umm.. you can but later”

She watched the road

“Quiet…” he laughed

“I will say something and we will fight”

“Already very aware of the dynamic… niice” he laughed

“I have realized you won, so you will do your thing… I will play along”

“Innuendo?”

“You wish” she laughed

She was wearing aa navy shirt dress and a multi color scarf around her pony tail

“No arguments tonight?”

“Nope… if we pick my fave place to eat and favorite music, and favorite after dinner walk spot” she said looking out her window

“You are totally not selfish”

“Jaanti hai main”

There was a seriousness to that statement he realized

“So? Who all live at home, besides Ajji” he questioned

“Kyon?” her heart skipped a beat

“Chill… just making convo”

She looked at his face, he tilted his head away from the road and made eye contact

“Just Ajji and my brother and sister” she said quietly

“Oh… um… great”

“My parents passed away when I was… um… years ago”

He almost braked

He turned to her again in shock

She looked out her window

“I am deeply sorry” his voice was gruff

“Thanks” she cleared her throat

“Do you like crushed ice” he pointed to a store on his sode of the road

“I love mixing flavors”

“Like?”

“Lavender and orange; rosemary and mango”

He steered closed braked and parked

“Before the show?”

“Why not?”

They walked in not hand in hand, but bodies rubbing

She ordered rosemary and mango, he ordered pineapple and coconut

They took it to an empty table at the back end

“This is great” he laughed

“You don’t visit much?”

“Umm.. no”

“Tumhare ghar to bache hai”

“They hate me I hate them so its kinda hard”

“What did you do?” she asked

He laughed and laughed

“Yep” he rolled his eyes sarcastically “Its all me” “You sound like Mum” he said and stared frozen at her for a few seconds

She realized what he had just uttered

They both got flustered a bit, “I mean she would always take the kids side” he chuckled

“I would have loved to meet her… was she a teacher?”

“Umm.. no… so you know she passed away?”

“Yeah your Dad told me”

“Oh… man cannot stop talking about his wife” Indy was a bit angry

“His wife right?”

“Yes MY mother too”

“To tum bhi baat karo” she mocked

“Umm… you have no idea… umm… never mind”

“I get it Indy… you are angry with him it makes u upset to hear him talk about her”

“So you are a therapist now?”

“No just a woman who lost her parents too young who understands where people could be coming from”

He was grumpy for a bit

“This sounds like a AA meeting” she said

He laughed out loud again

Her eyes lit up

“You make me laugh” he smiled

“Dikh raha hai mere ko” she smiled

“You say the most incorrigible things”

“Don’t say nice things to make me feel better about losing to you”

“Are you still on that?”

“If I forget my failures how will I get better?”

“Damn… you are obsessed about winning”

“And becoming rich” she smiled candidly

“Why?”

“Tumhe nahi chahiye South Bombay mein ghar, Mercedes?”

“Uhh… I don’t know… not really”

“Why do you have a start up if you don’t like money”

“For the thrill of creation”

“You wont take money when you get bought out?”

“Havent thought about it”

“Mujhe de do” she ordered

“What will you do with it?”

“World tour, take a break of one year from job and relax, oil my hair… get foot masaages from hot guys”

“You can get that now” he muttered wickedly

“Without the s—” she argued

“Sure”

I am so happy to read this update.

They both opened up, spoke what really mattered/bothered them.

This is the first he has heart of her parents' passing. So far he has envisioned her living a sheltered life, but now he will know.

Is he offering the foot message without the ___? He is hot so he passes that.

Take him up on the offer Punky.

They have shared pain about losing a loved one. He doesn't like to talk about it, choosing to bury it inside.
