Part 3
The next few days of freedom flew past Angad and Kripa faster then they could say fast. These days might have been the last time for both of them to enjoy their lives, but they did not spent much of their time enjoying it. There was sangeet and mehendi that Kripa had to suffer through. And for Angad his family kept regular parties, just so the whole world would know that Angad Khanna was getting married. First there were business parties, then formal parties, then informal parties, then parties just for close friends. And as if those parties weren't enough his parents had decided to redesign his whole room, to make it adaptable for Kripa to live in.
It was about a week after Angad and Kripa had met, and there was Angad Khanna, in yet another party. When he had woke up in this morning he had half wished that the past few days had been just a bad dream. But when his eyes opened in his newly renovated room he had groaned. It was now 6 p.m. in the afternoon and there he was with kripa at his side.
"You know you can at least complement me, I spend about 3 hours dressing up." Kripa said whispering indignantly.
"Oh you look really nice."
"Really?" Kripa said smiling maybe Angad Khanna wasn't so bad.
Angad rolled his eyes, "No, I was just being sarcastic, you look less scarier without makeup…" Kripa threw him a look of disgust crossing her arms, but he continued, "…see I am very observant and I would have noticed it before but I was just too shocked at the fact that a thing like you is supposed to marry me, to think about anything else." Angad said, a bit more cheerful seeing her angry face. 'This is stupid' was the sentence that kept repeating in his head, like a messed up tape recorder and he had gotten quite annoyed by now.
"You know if you were my boyfriend I would have smacked you in the face right now, for saying that."
"Ha ha that would happen only when the moon turned to a square, and we were the last human beings left on the earth. And like I told you I chooe girls with a bit of class."
"Bit of class!! Have you looked at yourself you look like a 5 feet tall APE. And talking of boyfriends there is Prithvi," She waved her hand "see isn't he cute, I just love him, he is so nice and caring."
"You called your boyfriend to our engagement!!" Angad said shocked.
"I didn't stop you from calling your girlfriends, but I suppose when you look like an Ape its hard to find someone. I'll go great him, see you later, hope you don't get too bored, and if someone ask tell them I am in the restroom."
"But Kripa wait… what do I tell…"
"Its up to you to deal with that hun, I don't want to ruin your classy image by standing next to you" Kripa retorted walking away. Angad was furious, couldn't she give a straight answer to anything, and who the hell called their boyfriend to their engagement.
Before Kripa could follow her boyfriend outside, her mom blocked her way, "Kripa, where are you going?"
"Er…mom I was just, er…"
"No need to say anything Angad already told me."
"He did?" Kripa wondered what Angad had told her .
"Ya, he said you were going outside for… "
"Oh, yeah that mom actually… I had… umm… forgotten something in car and I was just going to go get it."
"But Kripa you cant just leave him standing there all alone, what would people think. You are about to get married you should have enough sense to know that."
"but mom… I was just."
"No Kripa get that thing, whatever it is later, its not as important as your engagement, lets go now." As her mom dragged her back, Kripa looked back at her boyfriend with helpless eyes. Mouthing him to go away, if her mom got even a hint about Prithvi, then she would have to endure hours and hours of lecture . But first she was going to kill Angad. God it had been barley a week since he had entered into her life and he had already messed it up beyond repair.
"So how was you trip outside with your boyfriend, opps I mean to the restroom." Angad asked gloatingly.
"Ha ha very funny Mr. Khanna." Kripa said crossing her arms with a look of annoyance clear on her face.
"Please no need to address me so formally, its not like I am your boss or anything," Angad said smiling, but put his finger to his lips tapping it, looking as though in deep thought, "Well I am no yet but I will be, you will be mine after all, you know with, body, soul and mind." Angad put his hand on her waist pulling her towards him.
Kripa pulled his hand off her waist, pushing him away, trying with extreme difficulty to keep her face calm, "Angad darling if you love yourself, don't touch me again." Angad was about to answer back but was stopped by his dads announcement.
"Hello everyone, you all know why we are here, its to bind my son Angad and the Sharma's daughter Kripa, into a permanent bond. So Angad if you will please," Angad slipped the ring into Kripa's finger, his face with a contended expression. "Kripa…" Kripa looked at Angad thinking why he was so happy, when he never wanted to get married, she slipped the ring into his finger, thinking about the body, soul, and mind thing that he had said before. But then again why was she worried, she was Kripa Sharma nothing and no one could ever hurt her.
***********
Few days later Angad and Kripa's marriage took place, both families extremely happy with this decision. But it was like a very misty dream for Kripa, she expected to wake up from it any moment. Even when she took the 7 rounds around the fire and was bound with sindoor, the reality hadn't quite hit her. It was when she sat, waiting during her first night, on her husbands bed that she realized that she would never be able to go home, this would be her room now, she would wake up every day seeing Angad's face, this was now her life. And for the first time she was scared of what was to come ahead.
