Part 19
The alcohol was finally getting hold of her, Kripa could feel it, she couldn't even walk straight now. The original plan had been to walk out of the party with Sahil and then ditch him, but she found herself clutching him for support, and could feel him tighten his hold on her waist. Her brain was too fazed now to think straight, but her intuitions flickered. Something bad would happen tonight if she didn't get a hold of herself. But she didn't care; Angad didn't care about her then why did anything else matter. And Sahil was just as good as Angad; he was just as strong just as handsome. Why would it matter if she spent the night with him? If she couldn't have Angad, at least she could have Sahil. But another part of her brain or her heart screamed rebelliously. No, this wasn't right, it said. Sahil wasn't Angad, and she didn't love him. She was no longer that Kripa anymore, she was Kripa Khanna. This would be wrong!
She tried to pull away from Sahil, but she was too weak, and Sahil was not willing to let her go, "It's ok Hun, just wait till we get to our hotel room." 'Our' what the hell!! Kripa thought.
This time Kripa pushed him away from her, stumbling as she fell on the road, "Its ok, Kripa" He said his voice very soft, taking her by the arm, pulling her up.
"NO!! Go away!" Kripa said her voice whinny almost as if of a 5 year old.
"Kripa you don't know what you are saying, come with me." He tried once again, but this time Kripa slapped him. In a conscious state of mind she would have known that this would be a big mistake, but being drunk she did the first thing that came to her mind.
"That's it!!! You are coming with me, whether you want to or not. I didn't waste all that time on you for nothing." Sahil said angrily and this time Sahil didn't wait to ask her permission, he forcefully took her by the arm, almost dragging her away. Kripa would have protested but she could feel her consciousness slipping away. She hadn't drunk that much. But the uncaring feeling and exhaustion from everything that had happened, was enough to defeat her. Why did it matter? She was simply fighting fate. This was her destiny; her purpose in life was to be used by others. Angad Khanna didn't care, then why did she?
Just when Sahil thought he had won, he felt a tap on his shoulders. When he turned around he felt a blow to his face, "That my wife, buddy!" As Sahil stumbled back, trying to regain his balance, Angad took Kripa, wrapping his arms tightly around her waist—protectively—possessively.
Sahil though was far from done he charged towards him, punching him in face, breaking his nose. Angad was now angry enough to rip his head off. He threw another punch at his face, kicking him right in the stomach. Sahil having been a bit drunk himself fell face down on the road. Angad kicked his fallen figure once more, feeling pleasure as he moaned.
"Kripa" He said, taking her face in his hand, trying to bring her back to consciousness. She struggled to open her eyes.
"Angad?" she said in her confusion. How could he be here? This sort of stuff things happened only in dreams. This was a dream she told herself; a dream that she never wanted to end.
"Its ok, Kripa, you'll be fine. I am sorry." He said, even in her state she could hear the burning regret in his voice. This confirmed her suspicions, Angad Khanna never apologized to anyone, this was definitely a dream.
"fowhat?" She tried to ask but her words were slurred, and she could feel consciousness leaving her once again. There was no point in trying to stay awake she was with Angad. She was safe now. But… if this was a dream it wouldn't matter what she said now, who knew what would great her when she finally woke up. She wanted to live in this moment no matter how unreal. So she struggled against her exhaustion.
She grabbed him from the collar, trying to keep her hold tight and her eyes open, "I love you Angad; you love me too right? Tell me you love me, please." This was her dream so he had to say yes, this was one place that she could get what she wanted.
"I love you darling, you can sleep now." She felt the ground leave her, as he scooped her into his arms. She put her head on his shoulders and slept on, taking in the warmth of his body, wishing never to wake up again.
I know this was a short part but I didn't know how to make it longer. Well I hoped you guys liked it…
