Part 14
Kripa didn't take as long getting out of bed as she usually would have. After all she had work to do. She had to make breakfast for Angad Khanna a memorable experience. Once out of her room it didn't take her long at all to locate him, he was as she had figured roaming around the serving table, rubbing his belly expectantly, along with a few others. She went up to him, and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around looking at her annoyed. She remembered from one of the books she had read that 'Men get Crabby when needing food', and this theory seemed to apply perfectly to Angad Khanna.
"What?" Angad said in a rudely grouchy voice.
"Where is the breakfast?" Kripa knew what to expect from Angad even before she said this, he looked at her as if she was stupid and the most annoying person alive.
"Its obviously not here⦠stupid kitchen peopleā¦can't even cookā¦timeā¦if I had the powerā¦wouldā¦get them⦠firedā¦paidā¦300000ā¦andā¦no food." Angad was grumbling and mumbling so much that it took all of Kripa's expert hearing to decipher what he was trying to say. This was going to be a very lucky day for Kripa, she could feel it. How many times did you have days where things go exactly the way you want them too. This made her work so much easier.
"Hmm⦠we have a little stove in our room too, I am making something for myself if you want you can join me. If they are now serving breakfast god knows what will happen at lunch." said Kripa. Something tugged on the corners of Angad's mind something about not trusting enemies who have sworn minutes ago to avenge you, but he was hungry enough to ignore this protective instinct. He could only think when there was food in him and that was an established fact, so he merrily followed Kripa back to their room, wondering how he would survive without her. In the room Kripa pulled out a chair for him to sit in, he went to sit down thinking that Kripa was being exceptionally nice this morning. That was until his bottom touched the chair. He let out a yelp while Kripa laughed. When the laughter subsided into small giggles Kripa picked out a needle from the chair.
"Some tricks never get old." She said while Angad looked at her murderously, "ok, ok sorry, but this was a chance too good to miss. I love it when you are brain blocked." Sorry my foot Kripa thought the only reason she had apologized was so he would not get suspicious of her "other" intentions.
She busied herself into making breakfast and in no time at all she had two pancakes in front of her, except that one of the pancakes had an extra ingredient that made it made it much more special and not in a good way. She put the "special" pancake on the table in front of Angad, while she kept the normal one for herself.
"What no syrup?" Angad said pointing at his pancake.
"Oh sorry forgot." She got up, turning her back to Angad for a second opening the small cabinet beside the mini stove taking some syrup out, "here," She said putting it beside Angad's plate. Sitting herself down opposite to him, watching him closely, with a smile as he finished his "special" pancake.
"Aren't you going to eat?" Angad said pointing to her untouched plate. She wasn't really hungry but didn't want him to get suspicious so she took a small bite.
"You know Kripa you are a good cook." Oh he would know once the pancake settled in his stomach how good of a cook she really was, Kripa thought.
"Of course I am, I am Kripa remember?"
"Oh yeah how could I forget." Kripa was probably the most egoistic girl that Angad had met in his entire life; this was one thing about her that he hated beyond all. She had the nerve, to do things to him that no girl would ever dare. But there was of course no doubt that he would always be the smarter one. And Kripa was about to find that out in a minute or two.
As Kripa sat there trying to read Angad's mind, something caught her almost as if she had a baseball thrown with full force right to her stomach. The feeling was so sudden almost as if her sea sickness had quadrupled in force. It was then that Kripa realized she looked at her pancake horrified and then at Angad who looked absolutely perfectly alright. And then she remembered his request for syrup. Then before she could say another thing she had to rush to the restroom to throw up the contents in her stomach. While Angad smiled devilishly, he had made her make him breakfast and he had reversed her trick. Wow he was on a roll.
When Kripa came from the restroom her face was flushed. If she had been more mad in her life at anyone she could not recall, "YOU!! HOW COULD YOU!" she said walking up to Angad her face an inch from his, her hands balled up into a fist, to restrain her from choking his neck or even scratching his face.
"You attempt to poison me and I am supposed to sit here and take it happily, just be happy you didn't eat the whole thing." Angad said coldly.
Kripa was now boiling, so much that Angad was afraid she was going to explode, "Iā¦" Kripa looked for a bad enough thing to say but all she came up with was, "Iā¦I HATE YOU!"
"Likewise," Angad said coolly walking out of the room, while Kripa was left fuming; it was almost surprising that there wasn't smoke coming out of her ears. That was it, the end of all she had thought that maybe she could have liked him, but that seemed like another life time. Everything, all of what was b/w them was now so⦠history.
