An awesome update enjoyed reading this chapter .It was quite different from the previous chapters in the sense it did not dwell on the dynamics of Arnav and kushi’s relation or equation of romance between them but it was solely about the senior Gupta the man that he is today. I totally agree when you said at the end you are not defending him.
Alok Gupta as he is largely known as the great manipulative businessman or the chanakya of business is so due to his upbringing . The ropes of business had been drilled into him right from childhood he was taught to focus on business and making money. He was born in a male dominated society where women are relegated to the background or kitchen
The biggest irony is that all his life when he concentrated his energy on building the business and, today when he’s the wealthiest businessman none of his children want his wealth. So much so they don’t want to be in the same room as their father .For them their father is a visitor who met them at meal times or rather behaved formally or stern with them hence they hate him. His son Vihaan doesn’t want to take over the reins of the Gupta empire as he is tired trying to step into his father’s shoes or please him
Today after reading Garimas’s letter he is missing her ,he has realized he did not pay heed to her advice which she time again reminded him of being there for the children .
But one thing we can say is It’s not that Alok Gupta was a bad father or he hated his children but he never openly displayed his affections towards the children but Alok kept in contact with his children through his wife Garima who updated him every now and then about their children’s activities and studies.
Waiting to see kushi’s reaction when Vihaan tells her about his resignation from the company and she’s no longer bound by the promise she made to Alok Gupta regarding him.
