Chapter 76

A Shocking Announcement

Everyone is startled by Pragya’s announcement. Aryan, completely dejected, struggles to maintain his balance, while Priyanka, though seething with rage, manages to suppress her emotions in front of everyone. However, Pragya has been observing her keenly. Shifting her gaze from Abhi, she walks up to Priyanka and asks, “Aren’t you happy, Priyanka, that Rishi is finally settling down?”

Priyanka closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, and forces a smile. “Of course, why not? I’m very glad that Rishi is moving on with his life after everything that happened.”

Abhi and Rhea sigh in relief, but Pragya sees through Priyanka’s pretense. Before she can say anything, Abhi steps between them and says, “Fuggy, I know you’re doing this to prove that Rhea and I made a mistake by forgiving Priyanka. But you can see for yourself—Priyanka has changed. She’s absolutely fine with Rishi’s marriage, so why waste time trying to prove her guilty?”

Pragya is taken aback by his words, while Priyanka smirks. Still determined, Pragya retorts, “You know I never stand against the truth. And that’s why I feel something isn’t right—”

Before she can finish, Abhi pulls Priyanka into a tight hug. “Enough, Fuggy! I admit that what Priyanka did to Rishi and your niece was very wrong, but I genuinely believe she has changed. And if Shahana is like a daughter to you, then Priyanka is like a daughter to me. So…” He folds his hands before her. “Please don’t tarnish her image again. I trust her and assure you that she won’t create any problems in Rishi’s marriage.”

Pragya is deeply hurt by Abhi’s words. She looks at him with disappointment. “Even after all these years, you haven’t changed. You still do whatever you feel like, without considering what is just and unjust.” Taking a deep breath, she composes herself. “Anyway, let’s put our differences aside for now. Today, you are celebrating your nephew’s engagement…” She turns toward Priyanka with a piercing gaze. “And tomorrow, I hope no one will create any obstacles in my niece’s engagement.”

Abhi reassures her, “Don’t worry, Fuggy. There will be no problems from Priyanka’s side.”

Pragya looks into his eyes, an unspoken pain passing between them. After a moment of silent understanding, she turns around and walks away. Abhi watches her retreating figure, unable to look away.

(Kumkum Bhagya’s dramatic background music plays as they share an emotional moment.)

Prachi follows Pragya out.

Priyanka’s Fury

Once the engagement party concludes, Priyanka storms into her room and begins throwing things in frustration. Her hands tremble as she picks up a vase and smashes it against the wall.

“Rishi! Rishi! Rishi!” she mutters furiously. “How could you choose that Shahana over me? How could you? No! I won’t let this marriage happen. But how?”

She paces the room, biting her nails in agitation. “Chucks has promised that I won’t create any trouble… but there must be a way.”

Suddenly, an idea strikes her. A sinister smile spreads across her face as she picks up her phone and dials a number.

A Sinister Plan Unfolds

Next morning, at Sarita Ji’s house…

Sanju and Sunny are busy helping with the engagement preparations. As they work, Sanju glances at Sunny with curiosity. “Bhai, last night when Priyanka called, we promised to help her break Rishi’s engagement. But then you also called your Maasi and warned her about Priyanka’s plan! What’s going on in your mind?”

Sunny smirks. “Sanju, if we help Priyanka, then how will my revenge against my dear little brother be complete?”

Sanju looks puzzled as Sunny continues, “Yesterday, that foolish girl—Chasmish—saved him. But today, no one will.”

Sanju frowns. “Today? But Aryan isn’t even here.”

Just then, Ranbir’s car pulls up outside. Aryan steps out hesitantly, looking uneasy. Sanju stares in shock, while Sunny smirks, reminiscing about his plan.

Flashback:

Sunny had approached Prachi the previous night. “Prachi, don’t you think Ranbir and Aryan should be here to help? There aren’t enough men in this family to handle all the arrangements. Rishi can’t do everything himself, and the only ones left are me, Sanju, and Shekhar Uncle. Wouldn’t it be better if Ranbir and Aryan joined in?”

Prachi considered it for a moment and nodded. “You’re right, Sunil. I should call them.” She immediately dialed Ranbir, inviting him to help.

As Prachi spoke on the phone, a sinister smile crept onto Sunny’s lips. His plan was working.

Flashback ends.

Sanju stares at him in admiration. “Bhai, you’re incredible! You’ve lured the prey straight into the lion’s den!”

Sunny’s eyes gleam as he watches Aryan step out of the car.

Meanwhile, Ranbir notices Aryan’s reluctance and frowns. “Aryan, what’s wrong with you? Ever since I asked you to come along and help with the engagement, you’ve been acting weird!”

Before Aryan can respond, Sunny and Sanju approach them.

Sunny smirks. “Nothing, Ranbir. It’s just that Aryan himself is getting married. He’s been a part of so many functions as a groom—maybe he’s sick of attending them, right, Aryan?”

Aryan looks at Sunny with sadness, but before he can speak, Ranbir snaps, “Did anyone ask you?”

Everyone is taken aback. Aryan tries to intervene, but Ranbir continues, “You’re just an office employee, so act like one. Don’t try to meddle in our family matters.”

Aryan and Sanju feel bad for Sunny, but he simply shakes his head and frowns, brushing off the insult.

Aryan quickly grabs Ranbir’s arm. “Come on, Ranbir, we’re here to help. Let’s go.” He drags Ranbir inside, but Ranbir keeps glancing back at Sunny.

Once they are gone, Sanju turns to Sunny. “Bhai, I don’t get it. You’re so ruthless to your own brother, yet you let that jerk Ranbir talk to you like that?”

Sunny shrugs. “Forget it, Sanju. Ranbir has nothing to do with my revenge. He’s not even worth my attention.”

Sanju leans in. “So, what’s the next step?”

Sunny smirks. “Wait and watch.”

A Painful Engagement and a Sinister Plan

The engagement ceremony begins, and while the atmosphere is filled with celebration, two hearts remain heavy. Aryan and Shahana, both deeply wounded, avoid each other’s gaze, struggling to conceal their pain.

The elders call upon Rishi and Shahana to exchange rings. With a bright smile, Rishi swiftly slides the ring onto Shahana’s finger. The room erupts into applause.

When it is Shahana’s turn, she hesitates. Her eyes instinctively seek Aryan, who, though his own eyes glisten with unshed tears, gives her a solemn nod. Mustering her resolve, she places the ring on Rishi’s finger. Once again, everyone claps, unaware of the silent heartbreak unfolding between the two.

Observing the scene, Sanju turns to Sunny and whispers, “Bhai, don’t you think this is too much? Making Aryan watch Shahana slip away right before his eyes?”

Sunny smirks, patting Sanju’s cheek lightly. “My brother’s pain is my gain, Sanju.”

Without wasting another moment, Sunny strides toward Rishi and asks, “Rishi, have you ever actually proposed to Shahana?”

Rishi frowns, confused. He shakes his head. “I didn’t think it was necessary. We both agreed to the marriage, and that’s what matters.”

Sunny clicks his tongue, shaking his head. “Oh, come on, Rishi! Stop thinking like an old man. Marriage is great, but where’s the romance? Propose to her—just once—before the wedding!”

Rishi hesitates but eventually gives in. Looking around for Shahana, he spots her and walks up to her. “Shahana,” he says hesitantly, “can you come to the terrace with me?”

Shahana blinks in surprise but nods, following him upstairs.

Meanwhile, Sunny exchanges a sly glance with Sanju and subtly signals him. Understanding his cue, Sanju sighs in resignation before approaching Aryan. “Aryan,” he says cautiously, “Shahana is calling you to the terrace.”

Aryan is taken aback. His heartbeat quickens. “Shahana?” he repeats, as if trying to make sense of it.

Sanju nods. Aryan hesitates for a moment before slowly making his way upstairs. As soon as he disappears from view, Sunny leans back with a satisfied smirk.

A Confession Meant to Wound

On the terrace, Rishi stands face-to-face with Shahana, his hands trembling slightly. Sensing his unease, Shahana tilts her head. “Rishi, what’s wrong?” she asks gently.

Rishi squeezes his eyes shut, drawing a deep breath to steady himself. Then, gathering his courage, he takes her hands in his own. “Shahana,” he begins, his voice laced with nervous excitement, “I’ve held this inside for so long, but now…I think it’s time I finally say it.”

Shahana’s heart races. “Rishi…?” she whispers, suddenly anxious.

Rishi opens his eyes, looks straight into hers, and declares, “I love you, Shahana!”

Just then, Aryan reaches the entrance to the terrace. He freezes. His breath catches in his throat.

The words echo in his ears. The sight before him—Rishi holding Shahana’s hands, love written all over his face—feels like a dagger piercing through his heart. His world crumbles in an instant.

Chapter 77

Heartbreak, Schemes, and an Unexpected Twist

Aryan's heart shatters as he watches Rishi confess his love to Shahana. Standing motionless at the terrace entrance, he struggles to breathe, the weight of his emotions suffocating him. Meanwhile, downstairs, Sunny keeps a close eye on Aryan, his lips curling into a sinister smirk as he savors the younger boy’s agony. Sanju, however, feels a pang of sympathy for Aryan, his conscience unsettled.

On the terrace, after his heartfelt confession, Rishi slowly leans in, intending to seal his words with a kiss. Unable to bear the sight any longer, Aryan abruptly turns away and rushes downstairs. Before Rishi’s lips can meet hers, Shahana pulls back, her voice hesitant as she whispers, “All this… it’s meant to happen after marriage. Let’s wait until then.”

Rishi studies her face before smiling reassuringly. “Okay, fine. If that’s what you want, I won’t touch you before our wedding,” he promises. Yet, as he gently tucks a stray strand of hair behind her ear, she instinctively jerks away at his touch. Ignoring her reaction, he leans in slightly and whispers, “Everyone must be waiting for us downstairs. Let’s go.”

Shahana nods, but an uneasy feeling lingers in her heart. As soon as Rishi leaves, her body trembles, fear creeping into her veins. The way he had tried to kiss her unsettles her, triggering a flood of memories. She is instantly transported back to that moment—the first time she had ever shared a kiss, and it wasn’t with Rishi. It was with Aryan, during the chaotic mishap at the Fashion Event.

Collapsing onto the ground, she breaks into uncontrollable sobs. “Why, God? Why?” she cries, clutching her chest. “Why did you make me fall for Aryan when he was never meant to be mine? Why did I love him when my fate was tied to Rishi? Why?” Tears stream down her face as she weeps, lost in her own heartbreak.

Sunny’s Cruelty and Aryan’s Escape

Downstairs, Aryan desperately tries to conceal his tears, wanting nothing more than to leave. As he scans the room for Ranbir, he finally spots him and moves toward him, only to be blocked by Sunny.

“So, Aryan, how did you like my first wedding gift for you?” Sunny sneers, his eyes glinting with malice.

Aryan stiffens, realizing at once that everything—him witnessing Rishi’s proposal, his pain—was all part of Sunny’s twisted plan.

Sunny steps closer, his voice dripping with venom. “Yesterday, you got lucky. That little girl, Chashmish, saved you. But tell me, Aryan… who will save you every time? No one, because I will keep striking at you again and again and again… until you break. Until your heart shatters just like my mother’s did when your father abandoned her. Mark my words—no one can save you from me.”

With a cold, daring glare, Sunny walks away, leaving Aryan frozen in place.

Ranbir approaches and places a comforting hand on Aryan’s shoulder. “What’s wrong, bro?” he asks with concern.

Aryan quickly shakes his head, forcing a small smile. “Nothing. Let’s just go.”

Ranbir, sensing Aryan’s distress, doesn’t push further. Instead, he calls out to Prachi, “We’re leaving now!”

Prachi nods. “Thanks for your help! And anyway, we won’t need any tomorrow since it’s the Mehendi Function.”

Ranbir grins teasingly. “Good! We wouldn’t have come even if you asked because it’s Mehendi in our house too!”

Prachi’s eyes widen in surprise before she chuckles. Ranbir waves at her in farewell, and he and Aryan walk away.

A Late-Night Revelation

At Mehra Mansion, Aryan enters his room and collapses onto his bed, replaying the night’s events in his mind. The engagement. Rishi and Shahana. Their closeness. The pain is unbearable. He shuts his eyes tightly, willing the memories away—when suddenly, his phone buzzes.

Without checking the caller ID, he answers, “Hello?”

A familiar voice on the other end instantly detects the sorrow in his tone. “What has your brother done now, Aryan?”

Aryan frowns. “Who is this?”

The voice sighs. “Don’t act clueless. It’s me, Rakhi.”

His confusion deepens. “What… what do you mean?”

“I mean, what else did Sunny do to hurt you this time?”

Aryan is momentarily stunned. “Why would you assume—?”

“Don’t even try to hide it,” Rakhi cuts in firmly. “I can hear the pain in your voice. If you trust me, then tell me everything.”

For a long moment, Aryan remains silent. Then, with a deep breath, he slowly recounts everything that happened.

By the end, Rakhi is in utter shock. “Aryan… your brother is so blinded by his own pain that he doesn’t care about anyone else’s suffering! Listen to me carefully, and do exactly as I say.”

Aryan immediately refuses. “No, Rakhi. Let it go.”

“Aryan, don’t argue with me. You trust me, don’t you?”

“…I do.”

“Then just follow my instructions.”

He hesitates but ultimately relents. “Fine.”

Rakhi then begins explaining her plan. As he listens, Aryan’s jaw drops. “But, Rakhi—”

“No ‘buts’!” she interrupts. “If you ever considered me a true friend, you’ll do as I say.”

Before he can protest further, she hangs up. Aryan stares at his phone, bewildered, his mind racing.

An Unexpected Twist at the Mehendi Function

The next day, at Sarita Ji’s house, the Mehendi Function is in full swing. Shahana sits with her hands covered in intricate bridal henna designs when Prachi walks in, balancing her phone between her ear and shoulder, her own hands filled with henna.

She frowns as she questions Ranbir on the phone. “What are you saying, Ranbir? How is that even possible?”

Ranbir, standing outside with Aryan behind him, tries to reason with her. “Prachi, it was Aryan’s idea. Since both his and Shahana’s Sangeet functions are happening tomorrow, why not have them together? We have a big house—there’s more than enough space for both celebrations.”

Prachi remains skeptical. “But how can we have our function at someone else’s house?”

Ranbir sighs. “Come on, Prachi. Our house is like your house. And the Sangeet is for your cousin’s wedding too. What’s the problem?”

Prachi turns to Shahana, unsure. “I don’t know, Ranbir. It’s Shahana’s function, so you should ask her. Meanwhile, I’ll talk to Ma, Sarita Auntie, and Rishi’s parents about it.”

Ranbir nods. “Fine. I’ll let Aryan convince Shahana himself.”

Before Aryan can protest, Ranbir shoves the phone into his hand. At the same time, on the other end, Prachi places her phone onto Shahana’s shoulder so she can listen hands-free.

Just as Aryan says, “Hello, Shahana,” the mehendi designer beside Shahana asks, “Ma’am, what’s your groom’s name?”

Unaware of the question, Shahana responds to Aryan. “Aryan?”

Misunderstanding her response, the mehendi artist carefully writes Aryan’s name on Shahana’s palm.

Chapter 78

Mehendi Mishap

As Shahana unknowingly muttered Aryan's name while answering the phone, the mehendi designer assumed it to be her groom’s name and carefully inscribed it onto her hand. Unaware of this, Shahana continued on the phone, "Yes, Aryan, what is it?"

Aryan signaled to Ranbir that he wanted to talk to Shahana privately. Understanding his cue, Ranbir nodded and walked away. Once alone, Aryan hesitated before asking, "Are you alright?"

Shahana was taken aback by his concern but replied, "Of course. Why wouldn’t I be? After all, I’m marrying my dream life partner!"

A silence followed. Aryan swallowed hard before asking, "And do you love him?"

Shahana stiffened at the unexpected question. "What do you mean?" she asked cautiously.

"I saw the message on the bracelet you gave me," Aryan admitted, his voice heavy with emotion.

Shahana froze, recalling how she had engraved her true feelings on that bracelet. A single tear slipped down her cheek, landing on the mehendi design. The designer glanced up at her in concern, but Shahana averted her gaze.

"Have you called just to remind me of that?" she asked bitterly.

Aryan sighed. "No. Actually, I wanted to propose something—since both our sangeet ceremonies are happening on the same day, why not celebrate them together?"

Shahana’s heart skipped a beat. "What?"

"I know it sounds strange, but it wasn’t my idea. It was Rakhi’s," Aryan explained. "I don’t know what she’s planning, but I’m sure she wants to prove something to Bhai."

Shahana remained unconvinced. "But how is that even possible, Aryan?"

"Why not?" he countered. "Prachi will convince your Maasi, Rishi, his parents, and grandmother. That only leaves you. Are you refusing… because of me?"

He immediately regretted his words.

Tears welled up in Shahana’s eyes, but she quickly composed herself. "It's a yes from me."

Aryan was stunned. "Huh?"

Shahana repeated, "I have no issues with holding both sangeet ceremonies together. See you tomorrow at the function."

She quickly hung up, struggling to hold back her emotions as memories of Aryan flooded her mind. Meanwhile, on the other side, Aryan clutched the phone, lost in the same bittersweet memories, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. (Jo dhariya jeeni re jeeni… Badlapur separation song plays in the background.)

The Sangeet Ceremony

The Mehras and Kohlis welcomed their guests with cheerful enthusiasm. Abhi glanced at his watch and turned to Purab. "Hey, isn’t Shahana and Rishi’s sangeet ceremony also being held here? Then why aren’t they here yet?"

Purab chuckled, shaking his head. "Patience, Abhi, patience! Don’t worry, Pragya di will be here soon."

Abhi frowned at his teasing, but before he could reply, Sarita Ji arrived with her family, including Pragya, Prachi, Shahana, and their guests. Sarita Ji folded her hands in gratitude. "Thank you, Mr. Abhishek Prem Mehra, for allowing our family function to be held with yours."

Abhi quickly stopped her, shaking his head. "Arrey, Sarita Ji, what are you doing? Please don’t embarrass me!" His gaze then shifted to Pragya, and he smiled softly. "After all, your family is like mine too."

But Pragya, still holding onto her grievances, turned away without responding. Abhi’s smile faltered, a pang of hurt crossing his face.

Pragya signaled to Shahana and Prachi. "Let’s go inside."

Abhi took a step forward, hoping to speak with her, but Rishi’s parents intercepted him, eagerly introducing themselves and asking for his autograph. Caught up in conversation, he watched helplessly as Pragya walked past him without a glance. His heart sank. (Kumkum Bhagya dramatic tone aa-aaa-aaaa dramatic tone plays.)

Inside, as Prachi and Shahana entered, all eyes turned to them—especially Ranbir and Aryan.

Both men were momentarily lost in admiration. Ranbir, captivated by Prachi’s beauty, didn’t even realize how openly he was staring. Prachi caught him in the act and subtly gestured for him to stop. Ranbir smirked and shook his head, refusing.

Aryan, however, quickly tore his gaze away from Shahana as soon as Rishi walked up beside her, bringing him back to reality.

Noticing Aryan’s sudden withdrawal, Ranbir leaned closer and muttered, "You are such a sadist, Aryan. YOU are getting married to the girl you love, yet you won’t even let me look at the girl I love! YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND THE PAIN OF LOVE!"

Aryan stiffened at those words but forced a smile. His eyes flickered to Shahana once more before he thought to himself, I wish I could tell you, Ranbir, that it’s not Mishti but Shahana whom I love.

His thoughts were abruptly interrupted when he noticed someone entering. Straightening up, he turned to Purab. "Dad, come with me. I want you to meet someone."

Purab raised a brow but followed Aryan, surprised when his son led him straight to Disha.

Disha and Purab locked eyes, overwhelmed with emotions.

Breaking the silence, Aryan spoke. "Dad, do you know her? This is Disha Ma."

Both Purab and Disha were stunned.

Aryan turned to Disha, his voice laced with hope. "Can’t I call you that? Sunil is like my elder brother, so his mother should be like my mother too, right?"

Disha’s lips trembled before she nodded with a gentle smile. Her heart whispered, Sunil is after all your elder brother, Aryan…

Just then, Sunny arrived with Sanju. Seeing his mother standing with Purab, a familiar rage boiled within him. To him, his father’s presence only ever brought his mother pain.

Clenching his fists, he stepped forward. "Ma, didn’t I tell you it wasn’t necessary to come here?"

Disha turned to her son with calm defiance. "How could I refuse your friend when he so sweetly invited me to his sangeet party?"

Before she could say more, Aliya stormed into the scene, her voice laced with fury. "Purab!"

Purab hesitated for a second before excusing himself and walking away. Sunny watched his father go, seething.

Turning back to Aryan, he stepped closer, his eyes dark with anger. "What are you trying to prove by bringing my mother here?"

A voice rang from behind. "It wasn’t his plan. It was mine!"

Sunny spun around, stunned to see Rakhi standing there, her eyes locked onto him with unwavering determination.

Sanju, watching the exchange, smirked. Bhabhi ji is the perfect match for Bhai! Only she can handle his insane ways!

Rakhi stepped closer, face-to-face with Sunny. "And this is just the beginning," she whispered.

Then, without hesitation, she turned toward the guests and called out, "Isn’t this a sangeet function for two lovely couples? Then why is everyone so silent? Let’s start with a welcome dance!"

As if guided by fate, she instinctively pulled Abhi and Pragya together. The moment their hands touched, an inexplicable jolt passed through all three of them.

A strange, unspoken emotion flickered in their eyes. (Kumkum Bhagya dramatic tone aa-aaa-aaaa dramatic tone plays.)

Chapter 79

The Welcome Couple Dance

Rakhi excitedly announced the start of the welcome couple dance. Without a second thought, she hurried forward and instinctively pulled two people together. The moment their hands touched, an inexplicable jolt ran through all three of them.

Abhi and Pragya felt a sudden rush of emotions, their hearts inexplicably stirred. Memories of Kiara flooded their minds—how she used to clasp their hands together in the exact same way, bridging the gap between them with her innocence and love.

Rakhi, however, felt something different. A strange uneasiness settled in her chest, the same unsettling feeling she had experienced upon stepping into the Mehra Mansion and again when she had first seen Abhi at Aryan and Mishti's engagement ceremony. The sensation was overwhelming, almost as if she had been here before, as if she had known them before. Her grip loosened, and she quickly withdrew her hands.

"I'm sorry for pulling you both like that," she said hesitantly, glancing between them. "I just felt that since this is a couple's dance, it should begin with the most iconic couple here—Rockstar Mr. Abhishek Prem Mehra and his wife." She paused before making a formal request. "So, would you both please step onto the dance floor?"

Pragya hesitated. Her lingering resentment toward Abhi held her back, but when she saw the hopeful, expectant smile on Rakhi’s face, something within her softened. With a small sigh, she relented.

As she nodded, Abhi's face lit up, and Rakhi beamed with satisfaction.

The moment Abhi and Pragya stepped onto the dance floor together, a wave of joy swept through the hall. The guests erupted into applause, thrilled to see them reunited, even if just for a dance. But not everyone shared in the happiness.

Aliyah, Priyanka, and Meera remained silent, their expressions clouded with discontent. Meera, in particular, looked distressed as she watched Abhi with Pragya. Her hands clenched into fists, emotions swirling within her.

Mitali, standing nearby, noticed Meera's reaction and let out a knowing sigh. Leaning closer, she murmured, "I told you before, Meera—Abhi and Pragya are destined to be together. No matter how many obstacles come between them, they always find their way back to each other."

Meera looked away, her heart sinking at Mitali's words.

Mitali continued thoughtfully, "The last time, it was their first daughter, Kiara, who brought them back together. And now, even with so much distance between them, it’s this girl who has managed to unite them once again. I wonder… who is she?"

As she pondered, Dasi walked up to them, a broad smile on her face as she watched Abhi and Pragya together.

Mitali turned to her curiously. "Dasi, do you know who this girl is? The one who just made the impossible… possible?"

Dasi shrugged, shaking her head. "I have no idea who she is," she admitted, her gaze still fixed on the dance floor. "But whoever she is, she reminds me of our Kiara."

A wistful smile touched her lips. "Just like Kiara once brought Abhi and Pragya back together, this girl has managed to do the same, even in the midst of their differences."

Hearing this, Meera's heart clenched painfully. Her gaze remained fixed on Abhi and Pragya as they stood together, lost in each other's presence—just as they were always meant to be.

The Dance of Destiny

After Abhi and Pragya opened the couple dance, Rakhi invited the elder couples to join them on the dance floor—Vikram and Pallavi, Purab and Aliyah, and Shekhar and Anuradha (Rishi’s parents). Once they had all assembled, Rakhi took center stage and addressed the crowd.

"Now that all the elder couples have joined the dance floor, before inviting the younger ones, let me explain how this couple dance will proceed," she announced. "The dance is divided into three sessions, each with a different song. After every session, partners will switch. At one point on the dance floor, there is a large globe filled with rose petals!"

As curiosity spread through the crowd, everyone’s gaze lifted towards the ceiling. Seizing the moment, Rakhi instructed the lights to be turned off, leaving only a single spotlight on her.

"Ah-ah! Not yet," she teased, smirking. "The challenge is that in the third session, every couple must reunite with their original partner and reach the point where the flower globe is held. If they succeed, the petals will shower upon them, declaring them the winning couple!"

Excited murmurs spread across the room as everyone nodded in agreement. Rakhi continued, "That is precisely why I have started this dance with the elder couples. Let’s see if they can serve as role models for their children by staying true to their partners till the very end!"

The audience cheered, eagerly anticipating the game.

Meanwhile, Prachi turned to Ranbir and whispered, "Who is she?"

Ranbir shrugged. "I’m not sure, Prachi. I think she’s Aryan and Rhea’s friend. That’s probably why they made her the event manager for Mishti, Aryan, Shahana, and Rishi’s Sangeet ceremony."

Prachi nodded thoughtfully, her gaze fixed on Rakhi with growing curiosity.

Now, it was time for the younger couples to join in.

Ranbir grinned and told Prachi, "I don’t want to miss being with my special partner in the last round, so I’ll start with my sister!" Without hesitation, he took Mishti’s hand and stepped onto the dance floor.

Prachi smirked. "Fine, then I’ll start with Rishi." She took Rishi’s hand and followed suit.

That left Aryan and Shahana standing awkwardly, exchanging uncertain glances.

Watching their hesitation, Sunny and Rakhi both took notice. Sunny made a move to bring them together, but Rakhi stopped him with a mischievous glint in her eye. Pointing at him and Disha, who stood beside him, she said, "I think the two of you—mother and son—should also step onto the dance floor!"

Sunny shot her a glare, clearly unimpressed by the idea.

However, Disha smiled warmly and, without giving him a choice, pulled Sunny along with her.

Once they entered, Rakhi paired Shahana with one of the guests and instructed Rhea to partner with Aryan.

Meanwhile, Priyanka, noticing that Shahana had joined the dance, immediately sought out Sanju to be her partner. But Sanju, clearly nervous, hurried towards Rakhi instead.

"No, Priyanka Madam ji," he stammered, "I have to enter with Bhabhi ji!" Before Rakhi could react, he quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her onto the dance floor.

Rakhi raised an eyebrow in surprise but went along with it. Priyanka, annoyed but determined, refused to accept defeat and partnered with another guest.

With all the couples set, Rakhi signaled to the DJ, and the music began. The first round was underway.

As they danced, Rakhi turned to Sanju with a questioning look. "Why did you refuse to dance with that girl?"

Sanju grimaced. "Oh, Bhabhi ji, she’s a psychopath!"

Rakhi’s eyes widened in shock. "What?"

Sanju sighed and, in hushed tones, narrated everything about Priyanka’s obsession. Rakhi listened intently, her expression darkening with concern. "Your Bhai has lost his mind!" she exclaimed. "What if that girl tries to harm Shahana again? And tell me one thing—why do you keep calling me ‘Bhabhi ji’?"

Sanju opened his mouth to answer, but before he could, the music shifted, and they changed partners.

The Second Round Begins

This time, Priyanka was paired with Rishi. Rakhi noticed the tension between them and reflected, I came here to make Mr. Perfect realize he’s misunderstanding his father’s role in his mother’s pain… but it seems there are even bigger mistakes he’s making in his grief. I really need to talk to him—he has no idea what he’s doing!

Elsewhere, Abhi had been paired with Rhea, while Pragya found herself dancing with Aryan. Both Abhi and Pragya simultaneously asked, "Who is that girl?"

Aryan answered, "That’s Rakhi, Pragya Ma’am."

Meanwhile, Rhea, oblivious to the ongoing conversation, said, "I don’t know her name, Dad! I just call her ‘Di.’ I only know that she’s Sunil’s girlfriend—your office staff member!"

Abhi and Pragya both reacted in unison—Pragya demanding, "Rakhi?" while Abhi echoed, "Sunil’s girlfriend?"

But before they could discuss further, the music changed again. This time, Abhi immediately reached for Pragya, pulling her close. They shared a deep, lingering gaze, an unspoken emotion passing between them. Unknowingly, they had stepped right under the flower globe.

Aliyah, on the other hand, tried to reach for Purab. But before she could, fate intervened—he was paired with Disha. Aliyah seethed, but she masked her frustration.

Meanwhile, Vikram and Pallavi were partnered with Mishti and Rishi, while Anuradha and Shekhar danced with Priyanka and another guest.

Among the younger couples, Prachi and Ranbir happily reunited, holding each other close.

Rhea, however, found herself with Sanju, while Aryan and Shahana finally faced each other. Reluctantly, they hesitated to hold hands.

Seeing this, Sunny tried to interfere, but before he could, Rakhi swiftly pulled him toward her, ensuring Aryan and Shahana were paired together.

Sunny, irritated, turned to Rakhi and snapped, "What the heck are you trying to do? You can never stop me or my game!"

Rakhi smirked. "Really? You think you’re punishing your father for hurting your mother by tearing your brother’s love away from him—so that in his pain, he destroys himself and, in turn, breaks your father?"

Sunny froze. He hadn’t expected her to understand his motives so clearly.

Rakhi pressed on, "Look at your mother and father, Mr. Perfect."

Sunny’s gaze followed hers—straight to Disha in Purab’s arms.

"The love in their eyes is undeniable," Rakhi continued. "So, tell me, how could your father have hurt your mother the way you believe?"

Sunny's expression faltered.

"And just look at Aryan and Shahana together," she added. "By separating them, you’re not just breaking your brother’s heart—you’re breaking Shahana’s too. What has she ever done to deserve that?"

Sunny clenched his jaw, growing visibly agitated. "Oh, just shut up!" he snapped. "Aryan will never be able to keep Shahana happy! He’ll hurt her just like his father hurt my mother! So stop trying to justify that they are meant for each other!"

The argument escalated, their voices rising. In their heated exchange, they accidentally bumped into Abhi and Pragya—just as the music came to an end.

Suddenly, the flower globe above them opened, releasing a cascade of rose petals.

The petals rained down, not just on Abhi and Pragya, but also on Rakhi and Sunny.

For a moment, everything else faded. It was as if destiny itself had chosen to weave their Kumkum Bhagya together.

Chapter 80

The Flower Petals Shower and a Surprising Revelation

As the flower petals cascade down, enveloping both Abhi-Pragya and Sunny-Rakhi, the crowd watches in astonishment. The unexpected sight leaves everyone spellbound, while Meera, once again, feels a pang of sorrow.

Vikram exclaims, "Oh! It looks like we have a tie between Abhi and Pragya. Now, how do we decide the real winners?"

Without missing a beat, Abhi and Pragya respond in unison, "Let the kids be the winners!" They turn to look at each other, a knowing smile passing between them. The audience beams at their gesture.

Vikram nods and continues, "Alright, since our famous rockstar and his wife have given up their title, our winners are…" He pauses, then looks at Rakhi, realizing he doesn’t know her name. Rakhi, noticing his hesitation, steps forward and introduces herself, "I'm Rakhi."

Vikram grins, "So, Sunil and Rakhi are the winners of the couple's dance!" A round of applause erupts in the hall.

Sanju smirks to himself, thinking, Even though I keep teasing Bhai by calling Rakhi ‘Bhabhi ji,’ she truly is the most fitting person to be his wife.

Sunny leans toward Rakhi and murmurs, "That name doesn’t suit you at all, Ms. Chashmish!"

Annoyed, Rakhi retorts, "Well, neither does ‘Sunil’ suit you. It’s my uncle’s name, and honestly, you're far from being the perfect ‘Mr. Perfect’!"

Sunny raises an eyebrow at her sharp reply and says in a low voice, "For your information, my real name isn’t Sunil. It’s Sunny."

Rakhi scoffs, "Of course, how could I forget? You’re living in hiding from your own family."

Sunny’s expression darkens. "Enough about me and my family. What about you? Why are you staying in that convent when you have a family?"

Rakhi is taken aback. She opens her mouth to respond but is left speechless.

Before the awkward silence stretches further, Purab interjects, turning to Disha with a teasing glint in his eyes, "Disha, is this your future daughter-in-law?"

The question leaves Disha, Sunny, and Rakhi gaping in shock. Sanju bursts into laughter, while Aryan and Shahana exchange amused glances.

Sunny and Rakhi try to deny it, but before they can, Vikram smirks, "Well, Purab, there's one way to find out. Let’s test how well they know each other. I’ll ask them one question each. If they answer correctly, well… you know what that means."

Purab chuckles, "Sounds fair!"

Vikram turns to Rakhi first, "Tell me, what affects Sunil the most in his life?"

Rakhi thinks back to her past encounters with Sunny, Aryan’s revelations about his past, and all the pain she has sensed in him. She takes a deep breath and answers, "His mother’s pain."

A stunned silence follows. Sunny and Disha stare at her in disbelief. Sunny’s eyes widen as he looks at her, trying to process how deeply she understands him.

Vikram nods, "Is that correct, Sunil?"

Sunny swallows hard and nods in affirmation.

Vikram then shifts his gaze to Sunny, "Now, your turn. What is Rakhi’s passion?"

Sunny remembers the first time he heard Rakhi’s voice before even seeing her. He recalls how her voice has always captivated him and finally answers, "Singing."

Rakhi gasps, caught off guard.

Vikram turns to her, "Is that right?"

Still stunned, Rakhi nods.

Vikram grins, "So, you sing?"

Before Rakhi can reply, Aryan jumps in, "Uncle, she even performed in our international concert!"

The crowd murmurs in amazement.

Vikram nods thoughtfully. "Since it was a grand event and collaborated with the Fashion Show, we might not have noticed her. But now that we do, why not give us a live performance, Rakhi?"

Rakhi hesitates, but Sunny smirks, "Oh, so you’re only good at interfering in others’ matters but can’t do anything for yourself?"

Annoyed by his taunt, Rakhi glares at him and steps onto the stage.

Rakhi’s Performance and a Painful Memory

As soon as Rakhi begins singing, her voice fills the room, enchanting everyone. The melody carries a blend of power and elegance, a perfect fusion of rock and classical music.

Standing by the bar, Purab nudges Abhi and remarks, "This girl has serious talent. No wonder Disha’s son fell for her." He laughs but then leans in with a more serious tone, "But Abhi, have you noticed something about her voice?"

Abhi frowns, "What do you mean?"

Purab shakes his head, exasperated. "Salley, we’ve been in this industry for years, and you still don’t get it? There’s something unique about her voice—it’s like a perfect blend of rock and classical music. If your daughters had inherited your musical talent, they’d probably sound just like her. But unfortunately, neither Prachi nor Rhea got that gift."

Abhi’s expression shifts, his eyes darkening with sorrow. In a low voice, he murmurs, "Not two, Purab… but three daughters."

Purab falls silent, realizing his mistake. "I’m sorry, Abhi—"

Abhi stops him with a faint smile, though his eyes glisten with unshed tears. "It’s okay, salley. It’s true. Kiara left us all. But if she had been alive, she would have been standing on this stage, singing just like this girl."

A single tear escapes Abhi’s eye, and Purab instinctively pulls him into a comforting hug.

A Shocking Revelation on Stage

After Rakhi’s mesmerizing performance, the Sangeet ceremony resumes, and the family members take turns performing. As the final segment arrives, the brides and grooms are invited to the stage.

While dancing, Aryan and Shahana accidentally collide. Shahana stumbles, and Aryan instinctively catches her. They freeze, lost in an intense, emotional eye-lock.

Everyone watches in stunned silence. Rakhi nudges Sunny and whispers, "Look at them, Mr. Perfect. Open your eyes and see the sin you’re committing by trying to break them apart!"

Sunny shakes his head stubbornly, frowning in disinterest.

Meanwhile, on stage, Aryan and Shahana remain locked in the moment, oblivious to their surroundings. Finally, Mishti steps forward, calling Aryan’s name. The spell breaks, and Aryan helps Shahana up.

Just then, Mishti’s gaze falls on Shahana’s hand. Her eyes widen in shock. She grabs Shahana’s wrist and stares at it intently.

"Shahana!" Mishti exclaims. "Why is Aryan’s name written on your hand?"

A stunned silence sweeps through the room. All eyes turn toward Shahana, waiting for an answer.

Chapter 81

Mishti’s Startling Revelation

Everyone is taken aback by Mishti’s statement. She pulls Shahana’s hand even more firmly and demands, “Why is Aryan’s name written on your hand, Shahana?” At that very moment, Shahana’s engagement ring loosens from her finger and falls to the ground. A rush of memories floods her mind—she recalls receiving Aryan’s call just as the Mehendi designer had asked for the groom’s name. Embarrassed, she explains the situation to everyone.

Mishti frowns in irritation and remarks, “Well, it’s not a good omen to have someone else’s husband’s name on your hand!” Shahana feels a pang of sorrow at her words.

Meanwhile, Rakhi turns to Sunny once again and warns him, “Mr. Perfect, maybe fate itself is trying to stop you. No matter how hard you try to separate Aryan and Shahana, his name still found its way onto her hand. Maybe this is a sign for you to stop what you’re doing!”

Sunny, both annoyed and unsettled by her words, snaps, “Will you please leave me alone? I know exactly what I’m doing, and I won’t stop until I get what I want!” With that, he storms away, leaving Rakhi feeling disheartened. Her gaze shifts toward Aryan and Shahana.

Determined to help, she steps onto the stage and addresses Mishti, “Oh, come on, Mishti! What’s the big deal about a name on Mehendi? What really matters is marrying the person we truly love, right, Aryan? Right, Shahana?”

Both Aryan and Shahana are caught off guard by the question, unable to respond. Just then, Pragya, Prachi, Sarita Ji, and Rishi’s parents arrive.

Pragya confronts Shahana sternly, “Shahana, how could you be so careless? This is your wedding, not a joke! And the worst part is, you didn’t even realize it until now!”

Shahana, feeling guilty, lowers her head and apologizes, “I’m sorry, Maasi. I was so caught up in the wedding preparations that I didn’t even notice. I truly didn’t mean for this to happen.”

Pragya shakes her head, “What’s done is done. We can’t change the past, but from now on, be more careful.”

Shahana nods in agreement.

Pragya continues, “It’s getting late. We should head home. Tomorrow, we have the ‘Kangana Bandhana,’ ‘Chooda Chadhana,’ and ‘Kalinde’ ceremonies. Even though Beeji couldn’t attend the wedding due to her pilgrimage, she made sure all our relatives would be here. Your Mama Ji will be arriving in the morning for the Chooda Chadhana ceremony. Let’s go.”

Farewells and Unspoken Feelings

As they reach the exit, the Aroras and Sarita Ji’s family bid farewell to the Mehras and Kohlis. The Kohlis extend their good wishes for the upcoming ceremonies, mentioning that similar rituals will be taking place at their home as well.

As Sarita Ji and her family step outside, Abhi’s eyes remain fixed on Pragya, longing for a word from her. Prachi and Rhea notice their father’s silent plea and feel sympathetic. However, Pragya walks past him without a glance, offering only cold indifference.

Abhi sighs in disappointment. Meera approaches him to console him, but he stops her, “Leave it, Meera. I know my Fuggy won’t stay mad at me for long. When she calms down and realizes I was right, she will come back to me.” With a determined expression, he heads toward the Mehra Mansion, followed by Meera and Rhea.

Prachi, watching her father leave, feels a pang of guilt. Just then, Ranbir and Aryan join her.

Ranbir teases, “What happened, Prachi? Don’t feel like leaving your sasural already?”

Prachi frowns and stamps his foot hard.

Ranbir yelps, “Oww! Prachi, when will you stop this foot-stamping habit of yours?”

Prachi retorts, “When you stop with your annoying antics!”

Ranbir smirks mischievously, “But you’re my girlfriend, Prachi! I have every right to be naughty with you, don’t I?” He leans closer flirtatiously but stops when he notices Aryan and Shahana giggling at him.

Annoyed, he turns to Aryan, “Dude, because of your wedding, I have to spend an entire day away from my sweetheart. So, allow me to properly say goodbye to her. In the meantime, you can talk to Shahana.” Saying this, he swiftly pulls Prachi away.

Now left alone, Aryan and Shahana exchange awkward glances. Finally, Aryan breaks the silence, “Thanks, Shahana, for agreeing to have the Sangeet ceremonies together. And... congratulations.”

He hesitates, his voice faltering. Shahana watches him closely, waiting for him to continue.

Finally, he adds, “Congratulations on marrying the man of your dreams.”

Shahana, feeling a lump in her throat, responds, “Congratulations to you too... for finding the woman who fits the qualities you wanted in a life partner.”

Tears begin to well up in their eyes as they exchange bittersweet smiles.

Observing from a distance, Rakhi thinks to herself, “I don’t understand why Mr. Perfect refuses to see what’s right in front of him.”

Aryan takes a deep breath. “I guess this is the last time we’ll meet as singles. After this, we’ll probably meet as…” He hesitates again.

Shahana completes his sentence, her voice barely above a whisper, “…as someone else’s life partners, right?”

A single tear escapes Aryan’s eye. Shahana, struggling to hold back her emotions, quickly turns away and rushes outside, tears streaming down her face. Aryan watches her go, his heart aching. ("Jo Dhariya Jeeni Jeeni Re" plays in the background.)

An Unexpected Conversation

Rakhi, deeply affected by Aryan and Shahana’s emotions, searches for Sunny. She finds him and walks toward him, but just as she reaches him, Disha and Sanju appear. They are surprised to see Rakhi with Sunny.

Rakhi suddenly recalls how they had been mistaken for a couple earlier. Embarrassed, she sticks out her tongue playfully and quickly slips away, pretending to hear someone calling her.

After she leaves, Disha turns to Sunny and asks, “Is she someone important to you, Sunny?”

Sunny scoffs, “Important? Ma, she’s nothing but a nuisance! Remember the girl I told you about? The one who threw water at me during the Fashion Event? It’s her. She’s such a headache!”

Disha chuckles and teases, “Well, you know, headaches sometimes turn into heartaches.”

Sunny glares at her in exasperation.

Sanju smirks and chimes in, “Mummy Ji, I think you should just get Bhai married to that girl because—” He stops mid-sentence when he notices Sunny shooting him a deadly glare.

Sanju quickly changes the topic, “I’ll go look for a taxi!” and dashes outside.

Once he’s gone, Sunny turns back to Disha and declares firmly, “Ma, no girl—not Rakhi, not anyone—can ever enter my life. I don’t believe in love or marriage… not after what they did to you.”

Disha’s smile fades, and she looks at her son with a heavy heart.

Sarita Behen’s House

Back at home, Sarita Behen sighs, “The Sangeet was wonderful, but Shahana’s carelessness was inexcusable.”

Pragya, Prachi, and Shahana lower their heads in disappointment.

Prachi steps forward and pleads, “Sarita Auntie, everyone makes mistakes. Shahana didn’t do it intentionally. Please, forgive her this time.”

Sarita Behen softens and nods, “Fine. But remember, this is a wedding. I won’t tolerate any more mistakes!”

Prachi promises, “I assure you, Sarita Auntie, there won’t be any more mistakes.”

Sarita Behen nods. “Now, let’s all get some rest. Tomorrow, we have three important ceremonies.”

Everyone heads to their rooms.

Prachi and Shahana’s Room

As Shahana begins to remove her jewelry, she suddenly gasps.

Prachi turns to her. “What happened?”

Shahana’s eyes widen in panic. “My engagement ring… it’s missing!”

Chapter 82

Prachi and Shahana Search for the Ring

Prachi and Shahana frantically search for the missing engagement ring. Prachi scolds her, "I just promised Sarita Auntie that no more problems would arise in this marriage, and now you've already lost your engagement ring! In which world are you lost, Shahana?"

Shahana, disheartened, replies, "I'm sorry, Prachi. I felt the ring on my finger throughout the Sangeet ceremony, and then…" She pauses as a realization strikes her. "I think when Mishti held my hand tightly on stage, my ring must have loosened and slipped off!"

Prachi’s eyes widen in fear. "So, does that mean your ring is in the Kohli house?"

Shahana sighs. "I guess so."

Frustrated, Prachi exclaims, "Shahana!"

Hearing the commotion, Pragya enters the room and asks what’s wrong. The two exchange guilty looks before confessing the situation. Pragya is taken aback. "As if the wrong name on your Mehendi wasn’t enough, now this? How do we fix this new mess?"

Just then, Prachi’s phone rings. She answers to hear Aryan’s voice. "Hello, Prachi! I think Shahana lost her ring on stage during the Sangeet ceremony. When I was checking up on the pack-up, I found it!"

Prachi sighs in relief. "Oh, thank god, Aryan! You found it!"

Aryan asks, "But how do I give it back to you?"

Prachi looks at Pragya, silently asking for guidance. Pragya takes the phone and instructs Aryan, "Keep the ring with you and don’t let anyone find out. Sarita ji is already upset about the Mehendi incident. Here’s what we’ll do—tomorrow morning, before the Haldi ceremony, I’ll send Prachi and Shahana to the Kohli house under the pretense of shopping. That’s when you can return the ring to Shahana."

Aryan agrees, and Pragya thanks him before hanging up. She then turns to Shahana and warns her, "You and Prachi will go to the Kohli house under the excuse of shopping, collect the ring, and return immediately. Your Haldi and wedding are on the same day, so no unnecessary delays."

Shahana nods obediently.

Pragya continues, "Now get some rest. You have to wake up early for the Kangna Bandhana ceremony."

Prachi adds, "And you too, Ma! You need rest."

Pragya bids them goodnight and leaves. As she does, Shahana whispers to herself, "I thought today was our last meeting before the wedding, Aryan. But maybe God had other plans, making us meet once more."

Kangna Bandhana Ceremony

The next morning at Sarita Behen’s house, the priest arrives and ties the sacred thread around Shahana and Rishi’s wrists. "This thread is a symbol of protection and good fortune for the wedding. Do not remove it—it must fall off on its own."

Both Rishi and Shahana nod in understanding.

At the Kohli house, the same ritual is performed for Aryan and Mishti. However, as Aryan gets up, he accidentally bumps into something, causing his sacred thread to slip off. Unaware, he walks away without noticing its absence.

Back at Sarita Behen’s house, after the Kangna Bandhana ceremony, Shahana’s uncle excitedly asks, "Shall we begin the Chooda Chadhana ceremony? I can’t wait to place the bangles on my niece’s hands!"

Everyone agrees cheerfully.

Chooda Chadhana Ceremony

A sacred fire is lit, and the elder male members of Shahana’s family sit around it for the ritual. Her uncle brings a decorated plate carrying 21 bright red chooda bangles. He gently lifts Shahana’s hands and starts adorning them with the bangles.

However, as he does so, the sacred thread around Shahana’s wrist suddenly snaps and falls into the fire, reducing it to ashes.

Only Pragya notices this, and a chill runs down her spine. A foreboding thought creeps into her mind. Oh god, what kind of bad omen was that?

At the Kohli house, Vikram pats Abhi on the back. "Abhi, since Pallo doesn’t have brothers, you should perform this ritual. After all, you’re officially becoming Mishti’s Mama Sasur now!"

Abhi glances at Purab, who nods encouragingly. Smiling, Abhi steps forward and completes the ritual, placing the chooda bangles on Mishti’s hands.

Kalide Ceremony

At Sarita Behen’s house, Prachi ties the umbrella-shaped kalide ornaments to Shahana’s chooda. Meanwhile, at the Kohli house, Rhea does the same for Mishti.

Once the kalides are secured, both brides shake them over the heads of their unmarried female relatives, a tradition meant to bless them with marriage.

At that moment, one of Shahana’s kalide falls onto Prachi, while Mishti’s kalide lands on Rhea.

The family members cheer, "This means you will be the next one to get married!"

Prachi and Rhea stare at the kalide in deep thought, their minds drifting to Ranbir.

Haldi Ceremony

The next morning, as preparations for the Haldi ceremony begin, Pragya reminds Prachi and Shahana, "Be very careful. Don’t let anyone know why you’re really going to the Kohli house!"

They nod and set off, reaching just as Aryan and Mishti’s Haldi ceremony is in full swing.

Aryan spots Shahana, and sorrow fills his eyes. Shahana, too, feels a deep sadness as she watches him. Their gazes lock, and tears begin to well up. (Jo dhariya jeeni jeeni re plays in the background.)

Lost in emotion, Shahana unconsciously steps forward and accidentally bumps into Priyanka.

"Sorry!" she apologizes.

But Priyanka’s anger flares up. Remembering how she had seen Shahana with Rishi during the Sangeet and how they had danced together, jealousy and rage consume her. Without thinking, she shoves a heavy pillar-like structure toward Shahana.

Everyone's attention is on the bride and groom, and no one notices—except Aryan. His eyes widen in shock as he sees the structure about to fall on Shahana.

Without hesitation, he rushes forward, pushing her out of the way just in time. The pillar crashes onto his back, but not before he lands directly on Shahana.

Their faces come into close contact. The haldi smeared on Aryan’s cheek transfers onto Shahana’s.

A stunned silence follows.

Chapter 83

A Twist in the Haldi Ceremony

As the pillar crashes onto Aryan’s back, he lets out a cry of pain and instinctively buries his face into Shahana’s shoulder. Unbeknownst to both, the haldi smeared on his face transfers onto hers.

Just then, Sunny and Sanju arrive at the scene, their eyes widening in shock as they take in the fallen pillar and Aryan collapsed over Shahana. Without wasting a second, they, along with Ranbir, rush forward to lift the heavy structure. Together, they manage to free Aryan and Shahana and help them back onto their feet.

As the couple stands up, murmurs ripple through the crowd. It’s only then that everyone notices the haldi on both their faces.

Aliyah, furious, breaks the silence. "Aryan, have you lost your mind? Why did you have to get up from your place? Look what you've done! You’ve smeared your haldi onto Shahana!"

Aryan and Shahana freeze, their eyes meeting in shock. Reflexively, they raise their hands to touch their faces, confirming what had just happened.

Meanwhile, Sunny is equally shaken. His mother Rakhi’s words about divine signs begin replaying in his mind, making him uneasy. His forehead beads with sweat as he processes the unexpected turn of events.

However, his thoughts are soon interrupted by Prachi, who confronts him. "Sunil, what are you doing here?"

Regaining his composure, Sunny replies, "Oh, Maasi called and told us everything. She also asked us to keep a close watch on both of you, especially since so many hurdles have already come up. But looking at this, it seems like the hurdles just won’t stop!"

Both Prachi and Sunny turn toward Aryan and Shahana, their expressions filled with concern.

Trying to diffuse the tension, Aryan speaks up. "Come on, Mom. It was just an accident!"

Aliyah, however, refuses to let it go. "Accident?" she snaps. "Aryan, in a haldi ceremony, the bride and groom are supposed to be smeared with each other’s haldi. And here, your bride is Mishti, not Shahana!"

A shiver runs down Aryan and Shahana’s spines at the weight of her words. They swallow hard, trying to maintain their composure.

Purab steps forward, attempting to pacify Aliyah. "Oh, let it go, Aliyah. You saw Aryan was only trying to help. And really, what’s wrong if—"

Aliyah cuts him off sharply. "Purab, don’t try to justify their mistakes! First, this girl got our son’s name written on her Mehendi, and now this? What is happening here?"

Before the argument could escalate, Abhi steps in. "Aliyah, just let it go! What’s the point in making a fuss over something that cannot be changed? We’re here for a happy occasion, so let’s just continue the Haldi ceremony and not waste time on meaningless things."

Aliyah clenches her jaw but finally relents.

As the others turn their attention back to the mandap, Aliyah takes advantage of the moment, grabbing Shahana’s arm in a tight grip. Her eyes burn with fury as she warns in a low but menacing voice, "You better wash that haldi off right away, or you’ll regret it!" With that, she shoves Shahana aside.

Deeply hurt, Shahana blinks back tears and rushes inside.

A Playful Moment Turns Bitter

Meanwhile, Prachi scans the area, noticing Shahana’s sudden absence. Just as she is about to go look for her, Ranbir steps in, grinning mischievously.

"Hello, dear girlfriend! What’s up? Your eyes seem to be searching for me!" he teases.

Prachi rolls her eyes in exasperation. "Oh, please! You’re not the only person in my life. I was looking for Shahana."

Ranbir shrugs. "Well, she probably went to wash off the haldi. And since it’s just the two of us now… shall we start preparing for our marriage?"

Prachi furrows her brows. "Our marriage?"

Ranbir grins cheekily. "Yes!" Without warning, he smears haldi onto her cheeks.

Prachi gasps, her mouth falling open in shock. Ranbir bursts into laughter.

Then, in a teasing tone, he adds, "Beeji was telling me that if someone gets haldi on them during a wedding ceremony, it means they’ll be the next to get married!"

Prachi narrows her eyes at him. "Oh, really? Then you should also be smeared with haldi, right?"

Smirking, she steps forward, attempting to apply haldi on him. However, Ranbir anticipates her move and quickly dodges. He takes off running, and Prachi chases after him.

In the midst of their playful scuffle, Prachi accidentally bumps into Rhea, unintentionally smearing haldi on her.

Rhea gasps, her expression darkening as she looks down at her soiled outfit.

Prachi bites her lip, realizing her mistake. "Rhea, I— I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to—"

Rhea’s jaw tightens as she glares at her sister. "I don’t need your apologies, Prachi," she says coldly. "You were too busy playing Holi with my ex and your present boyfriend! Continue your fun without bothering me!"

With that, she turns sharply on her heel and walks away, leaving Prachi stunned.

As Rhea disappears from sight, Prachi’s eyes brim with unshed tears.

Noticing her distress, Ranbir gently pulls her into a comforting embrace, patting her back reassuringly.

I wish… I wish there was someone who could mend the relationship between these two sisters, he thinks sadly.

RK Puram – St. Thomas Cathedral Convent

Rakhi paced back and forth, her mind in turmoil. What to do? What to do? she repeated to herself. By this evening, Aryan and Shahana will be married to different people—when they love each other! But how can I stop this wedding?

Her restless eyes suddenly landed on a candle flickering beneath the image of Jesus Christ. As if finding a ray of hope, she approached the sacred image, folded her hands, and prayed from the depths of her heart.

"God, please don’t separate Aryan and Shahana! Please, do something—anything—to bring Mr. Perfect to his senses and stop this marriage!"

Kohli House

Meanwhile, Priyanka fumed in frustration. Shahana had managed to escape her attack, leaving her seething with rage. Just then, her eyes fell on Sanju. She stormed toward him and demanded, "I gave a task to both you and that good-for-nothing Sunil, so why haven’t I heard anything yet?"

Sanju froze, his throat going dry at her glare.

Priyanka scoffed. "Never mind! I should’ve known better. Neither of you ever succeed in executing a plan properly—just like my Fashion Event fiasco! But this time, I won’t leave anything to chance. I’ll handle it myself!"

Sanju’s blood ran cold as Priyanka began revealing her next sinister plot. The more she spoke, the more his stomach churned.

"And this time," she added with a malicious grin, "no one can stop me!"

With that, she turned on her heel and walked away, a wicked smirk still plastered on her face.

Sanju swallowed hard, his eyes following her retreating form. But his anxiety shot up tenfold when he saw Shahana approaching from the opposite direction, holding a tiffin box in her hands.

Oh no! he panicked. Why is Shahana coming this way? If that PSYCHO Priyanka sees her, she’s doomed!

His worst fears materialized as he saw someone yank Shahana into a room. Without thinking, Sanju rushed after her.

Inside the Room

Aryan stood inside, gripping Shahana’s wrist firmly.

Shahana looked at him, startled. "I was coming to see you anyway! Why did you pull me in so suddenly?"

Outside, Sanju panted heavily as he reached the door. Peeking inside, he let out a sigh of relief upon seeing Aryan with Shahana. He remained by the door, watching them intently.

Aryan exhaled deeply. "I didn’t want anyone to see you coming here. Pragya Mami specifically told us not to let anyone find out about your missing ring."

He turned away, opened the drawer of his nightstand, and retrieved a delicate ring before handing it to her.

Shahana hesitated, making no move to take it.

Aryan frowned. "What? Don’t you want it?"

Shahana looked into his eyes, uncertainty clouding hers. "Aryan, will you tell me the truth if I ask you something?"

Aryan, confused, nodded slowly.

Taking a deep breath, she finally asked, "That day, when you knelt in front of Mishti and revealed your feelings… were those three most beautiful words meant for me?"

Aryan’s eyes widened in shock, his throat tightening with unshed tears.

Outside, Sanju felt his own emotions well up as he watched the scene unfold.

Aryan dropped his gaze, inhaling sharply. Then, in a barely perceptible nod, he confirmed it.

Shahana let out a small, sad smile. "Then say it again—for me. While putting the ring on my finger."

Aryan’s breath hitched. Sanju, unable to hold back, wiped his tears.

Aryan hesitated. "What… what are you saying, Shahana?"

Shahana’s voice quivered, but she held her ground. "Please, Aryan. Don’t deny it. Just once—do it for me."

Aryan could no longer fight it. He surrendered.

Slowly, he knelt before her, taking her hand in his. His voice trembled as he spoke.

"I really don’t know when it happened… First, your pranks and endless chatter used to annoy me. Then, your presence started comforting me. And your absence… it distressed me. Seeing you in pain hurt me more than anything else. And one day, I realized that..."

He faltered, his throat tightening.

Sanju, watching from outside, couldn’t hold back anymore—tears streamed down his face.

Finally, Aryan found his voice again.

"I LOVE YOU, SHAHANA! I REALLY, REALLY LOVE YOU!"

Sanju, overwhelmed, quietly slipped away, unable to bear any more.

Inside, Aryan slid the ring onto Shahana’s trembling finger, both their eyes brimming with tears.

Shahana bit her lip, smiling through her pain. "I got something for you, too."

She lifted the tiffin box in her other hand. "This is your favorite—Rajma Chawal. I made it myself."

Aryan stared at her, his heart aching.

Shahana continued softly, "But there’s something else as well."

Opening the top compartment of the tiffin, she pulled out a mehendi cone. She then stepped closer, took Aryan’s hand in hers, and carefully wrote her name onto his palm.

"I don’t know why your name ended up on my hand that day," she murmured, her voice trembling. "But today, I am writing MY name in YOUR hand—to show you that I TOO REALLY, REALLY LOVE YOU, ARYAN!"

With that, she hastily turned and rushed out of the room, tears trailing down her cheeks.

Aryan remained frozen in place, his gaze dropping to his hand—where Shahana’s name was now etched into his skin.

A Truth Unveiled

Meanwhile, Sanju stormed through the house, overcome with emotions.

Why is this world so cruel? Why does everyone keep them apart? he thought furiously, his feet moving without direction.

In his daze, he collided hard with someone.

"Ahhh!" he yelped in pain.

It was Rhea.

Rubbing her arm from the impact, she muttered, "Hey! Watch where you’re—"

Before she could finish, Sanju burst out, "Your entire family is insane!"

Rhea frowned. "Excuse me?"

Sanju glared at her. "You, your sister Priyanka, and—" He stopped abruptly, realizing he had almost blurted out Sunny’s name.

Rhea’s confusion deepened. "What are you trying to say?"

Frustrated, Sanju snapped.

"Aryan and Shahana LOVE each other!"

Rhea’s world came to a screeching halt.

She stared at Sanju, thunderstruck, as his words echoed in her mind.

Chapter 84

Sanju’s Slip of the Tongue

Sanju’s frustration boiled over as he blurted out, "Aryan and Shahana love each other!"

Rhea froze, stunned beyond words. "What? What did you just say?"

Realizing his mistake, Sanju stuck out his tongue in regret. Oh no! Why did I say that? Panicking, he quickly backtracked, "Oh, nothing! I never said anything!" He spun around, ready to flee before he could dig himself into a deeper hole.

But Rhea wasn’t letting him off the hook that easily. She grabbed his wrist and demanded, "Don’t try to escape! Tell me—was what you said the truth? Do Aryan and Shahana love each other?"

Trapped with no way out, Sanju sighed and gave a reluctant nod.

Rhea’s grip loosened, and she staggered back in shock, standing frozen in place.

Sanju grew concerned and tapped her lightly. "Lakshmi ji… Lakshmi ji, are you okay?"

Snapping out of her daze, Rhea inhaled sharply and fixed her gaze on him. "How do you know that Aryan and Shahana love each other? And if Aryan loves Shahana, why is he getting married to Mishti?"

Sanju gulped. Oh God, where have I landed myself? If I tell her the whole truth, I’ll be exposing Bhai’s plan and how Aryan is just following his brother’s orders!

Rhea wasn’t patient enough to wait for his internal struggle. She grabbed his arm and shook him. "Sanju, I asked you something! Answer me!"

Unable to take the pressure anymore, Sanju snapped, "I DON’T KNOW! Aryan is your brother, right? Ask him yourself if he loves Shahana! And if he does, then ask him why he’s still marrying Mishti!"

With that, he yanked himself free and stormed off, leaving Rhea staring after him, her mind in turmoil.

Aryan’s Room – A Brother’s Confrontation

Aryan sat on his bed, his eyes locked onto his palm. Shahana’s name, inscribed in dried mehendi, stood as a silent reminder of the love he was about to forsake.

A sudden knock on the door jolted him. Startled, he quickly hid his hand behind his back and turned around, forcing a smile.

"Rhea?" he said, masking his nervousness. "You here? Is there something you need?"

Rhea folded her arms, her gaze piercing. "Yes. Show me what you’re trying to hide."

Aryan feigned confusion. "Hide? I’m not hiding anything."

Rhea’s patience snapped. Without warning, she grabbed his wrist. Aryan clenched his fist tightly, trying to conceal the name scrawled across his palm. But Rhea wasn’t one to give up easily. Using all her strength, she pried his fingers open.

What she saw left her breathless.

"Shahana."

The name was etched into his skin like an unspoken vow.

Rhea took a step back, her voice trembling. "What is this, Aryan? Do you… love Shahana?"

Aryan remained silent, his expression unreadable.

Rhea’s voice rose, demanding an answer. "Aryan, I’m asking you—do you love Shahana?"

After what felt like an eternity, Aryan closed his eyes, exhaled deeply, and admitted, "YES."

Rhea gasped, the weight of his confession hitting her hard. "Then why are you marrying Mishti?"

Aryan clenched his jaw, his mind flashing back to Sunny’s words, his warnings, his pain. He lowered his gaze, unwilling to answer.

Rhea’s frustration grew. She grabbed his shoulders and shook him. "Tell me, Aryan! Why are you marrying Mishti when you love Shahana?"

Aryan finally spoke, his voice barely above a whisper. "Because of Mom, Rhea."

Rhea blinked in surprise. "Booji?"

Aryan’s mind reeled back to the moment he met his brother—the moment Sunny had poured out his long-buried anguish, exposing their mother’s past sins, the manipulations that had destroyed lives. And then, the crushing demand from Sunny himself: Break up with Shahana. If she enters your life, you will repeat Dad’s mistakes—because she, too, is a middle-class girl.

Rhea, growing impatient with his silence, demanded, "Aryan, why do I have to repeat my question again and again? How is Booji related to this?"

Aryan inhaled sharply, his voice resolute as he finally revealed the truth. "It’s not just Mom, Rhea. It’s the way both you and Mom look at the middle class. That is the real problem."

Rhea’s brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"

Aryan looked at her directly. "You and Mom hold so much contempt for middle-class people that you push them away—no matter who they are. Isn’t that true, Rhea?"

His words struck a nerve. Rhea opened her mouth to argue but found herself speechless.

Aryan pressed on, his tone firm yet gentle. "That’s why you still can’t accept your mother and your sister."

Rhea’s breath hitched, her eyes welling up. She had never confronted this truth before—not like this.

Aryan softened. "You can’t be blamed for this attitude, Rhea. It was Mom who shaped you this way. And I know she can never accept a middle-class girl like Shahana as my wife. So, I decided it’s better to sacrifice my feelings than cause pain to the two women I love the most—Mom and Shahana."

Tears spilled down Rhea’s cheeks. "I will talk to Booji, Aryan. I know she’ll listen to me!"

Aryan let out a sad, knowing smile. "Not this time, Rhea. Mom won’t listen to even you. Her pride lies in her class, and she won’t let go of it for anything."

Rhea was left speechless. The weight of Aryan’s words crashed over her, and for the first time, she questioned everything she had believed.

She wiped her tears, but her gaze fell once more on Shahana’s name on Aryan’s hand. "What are you going to do about this, Aryan? You can’t keep it when you’re marrying Mishti."

Aryan stared at his hand and smiled wistfully. "No, Rhea. I want to keep it—until it fades away. Because this… this is the last gift I received from Shahana."

With that, he walked out of the room, leaving Rhea standing there, sorrowful and shaken.

Ranbir’s Room – A Storm Within

The sound of furious punches echoed through the room. Aryan struck the punching bag over and over, his mind consumed by memories—his breakup with Shahana, the sight of her with Rishi, Rishi’s proposal, and finally… the unbearable moment when Rishi leaned in to kiss her.

With a final, forceful punch, he hit the bag so hard that his knuckles split open, blood trickling down his hand.

Hearing the commotion, Ranbir, Pallavi, Beeji, Mishti, and Rhea rushed into the room.

Ranbir grabbed his cousin’s shoulder. "Aryan, since when did you develop such an interest in boxing? And right before your wedding? You always said boxing wasn’t your thing—so what’s going on?"

Aryan forced a smirk. "Nothing, Ranbir. Just felt like practicing a few punches."

Pallavi frowned. "A few punches? The whole house was shaking!"

Ranbir quipped, "Maybe he’s practicing how to fight with Mishti after marriage!"

Mishti rolled her eyes and smacked her brother playfully.

But Beeji’s sharp eyes caught something the others didn’t. She gasped. "Aryan, your hand is bleeding!"

Quickly, she grabbed a cloth and wrapped it around his wound, unknowingly covering the name etched on his skin.

Only Rhea noticed.

As Beeji tied the bandage, realization dawned upon her. Aryan didn’t want to erase Shahana’s name, but he also didn’t want anyone to see it. So, he deliberately injured himself to hide it.

She swallowed hard, her heart aching. Aryan loves Shahana more than anything. I have to talk to Booji.

A Twist Before the Wedding

Sunny’s Workshop – A Revelation and a Plan

Sanju had forcefully dragged Sunny into his workshop, shutting the door behind them. The garage smelled of motor oil and old metal, but Sunny barely noticed. He turned to Sanju, irritation evident in his voice.

"Why did you bring me here in the middle of the wedding preparations at Maasi’s house?"

Sanju, breathless and agitated, didn’t waste a second. "Wedding? Bhai, forget the wedding—there’s about to be a murder in that house if Rishi and Shahana’s marriage happens!"

Sunny stiffened, his eyes narrowing in alarm. "What are you saying, Sanju?"

Sanju ran a hand through his hair in frustration before locking eyes with Sunny. "Listen to me carefully," he said, his tone grave. "Priyanka has planned something dangerous—" He then revealed every detail of Priyanka’s sinister scheme.

As Sunny listened, his expression darkened, his fists clenching at his sides. His eyes widened in horror as the gravity of the situation sank in.

Just then, a sound came from behind them. Both Sunny and Sanju whipped around, only to find Rakhi standing at the entrance, her hand cupped over her mouth. Her shocked expression made it clear—she had heard everything.

Sunny’s anger flared instantly. "Why are you always where you’re not supposed to be?" he snapped.

But Rakhi, unfazed, crossed her arms. "Mr. Perfect," she said coolly, "instead of questioning why I’m here, wouldn’t it be better if we focused on finding a solution to the disaster your brilliant plans have created?"

Sunny’s jaw tightened. "If you’re here to lecture me into letting Aryan marry Shahana, let me make myself clear—I am not giving up my revenge. I—"

Before he could finish, Rakhi swiftly pressed her fingers against his lips, silencing him.

"Now you listen to me," she said firmly. "I’m not asking you to let go of your revenge. But you can achieve it in a different way—one that ensures you get what you want and saves Shahana’s life."

She released him and took a step back, waiting.

Sunny exhaled sharply, clearly frustrated, but there was something in her confidence that made him pause. He eyed her warily. "What are you suggesting?"

Taking a deep breath, Rakhi laid out her plan. As she spoke, both Sunny and Sanju listened intently, their skepticism slowly transforming into intrigue. By the time she finished, Sanju looked at her in sheer admiration.

"Bhai," he grinned, "Bhabhi ji is definitely two steps ahead of you in the brains department!"

Sunny and Rakhi shot him a glare and, in perfect unison, snapped, "Stop calling her/me Bhabhi ji!"

They exchanged a brief look before quickly looking away.

Rakhi folded her arms. "So? Do we go ahead with my plan?"

Sunny remained silent for a moment, then smirked slightly. He didn’t like admitting it, but… she had a point.

He looked on, considering the next move.

Before the Baraat – A Shocking Demand

Aryan’s Room

Dressed in his groom’s attire, Aryan stood before the mirror, adjusting his sherwani. He looked every bit the perfect groom, but his eyes lacked their usual spark. There was no excitement, no anticipation—just a quiet acceptance of the fate he had resigned himself to.

As he adjusted his collar, he suddenly caught sight of a familiar figure in the mirror.

Sunny.

Standing behind him.

Aryan spun around, surprised. "Bhai? You… here like this? What’s the matter?"

Sunny took slow, deliberate steps forward, his expression unreadable. His voice was calm but carried an unmistakable weight.

"I want you to fulfill one more condition before your wedding."

Aryan frowned in confusion. "Condition? What is it, Bhai?"

A wicked smirk played on Sunny’s lips as he uttered the words that left Aryan thunderstruck.

"Leave Mishti’s baraat… and marry Shahana."

Aryan’s breath caught. His heart pounded. He stared at Sunny in utter disbelief.

"What?!"
