RoSid OS - Colours of LoveRoli, with a hopeless sigh, entered into the room as she found him, siddanth, working on his laptop. It didn't make her wonder as she was expecting it.
It's almost three months since they both got married and it's neither an arranged marriage nor a love marriage but a compromise, which they both had to accept for their families. Siddanth, a guy who was least interested in love or relationships. His world revolves around his business. Have to mention, a completely workaholic! Roli, a bubbly girl with lots of expectations in life. She has always dreamt for a guy who would love her unconditionally. But, she ended up with a guy, who treats her nothing but a friend. Understanding his state, she thought to give him space, which he actually needs at that point of time as she knew what all emotional blackmail his mataji and family had done to make him agree for this marriage.
Everything was going fine until roli had realised that siddanth was more than a friend for her. But, she didn't dare to say it out as she was afraid of his rejection, which she couldn't take at all. She tried to compress her feelings inside her heart and continued to be his friend. And not to mention, he really cares for her and would do anything to make her smile. And that's the reason she loves him more than anyone, his caring side always melts her heart.
As she thought all these, she moved near to bed on which Sid was sitting with his laptop on his lap. Hearing her anklets sound, Sid raised his head to find her looking at him deeply. He raised his eyebrows asking as 'what?'
"Woh.. today.. Holi.." roli's words stopped in middle as Sid interrupted.
"Roli, I'm not interested in all these and you know it, right? So please let me do my work" continued Sid whilst roli's face turned sad. Being their first Holi after marriage, she was expecting to celebrate with him. But, he clearly denied her wish, without knowing how it could hurt her. Roli slowly turned and started to go, still hoping for him to join her. But he continued to do his work as nothing affected him.
Roli reached the ground where Holi celebrations were arranged. She saw her surroundings where all the couple's applying colour on eachother, which made her heart to sob silently. Everyone was busy enjoying the holi but roli stood like a statue at side without having any interest to celebrate it without her siddanth. She denied to join when mataji and all family members asked, saying that not feeling well as an excuse.
After nearly one hour, Sid who got a bit tired with his work, stood and went near window for refreshment. From there he saw how all are showering colours on the other. He felt them as looking like ghosts by applying all such colours on their faces. As he turned, there he spotted her, roli, standing alone, without a colour mark on her face.
"Is she not playing Holi?" He wondered as she was the most excited one for Holi festival. And even she was forcing him to join her since a week. She was wearing a white lehanga pairing with a baby pink dupatta and her hair left open, which was adding extra beauty to her already beautified personality. As he kept gazing at her, he found something was missing on her. Her smile! The most precious thing which she adores always but, was missing at the moment. Instead her face was clearly showing that she's sad, which wasn't unnoticed by him.
In ground, roli was kept looking at the entrance then and there, wishing him to come. But, only empty entrance welcomed her. With a sigh, she turned to side, being fed up.
"Arey wah siddanth!" Roli turned, excitedly as soon as she heard it. There he came, finally! She smiled broadly looking at him and he too reciprocated with the equally cute smile. Soon Sid was gathered by a group of people, who were all in surprise to see him in Holi celebrations for the first time. Roli was waiting to go near to him but, she wasn't getting the chance as he was completely surrounded by crowd. In which mostly all are girls, who were trying to apply colour on him and he was smiling at them. And it really pissed roli off to the core. She glared at him angrily and left from there.
Sid, finally came out of the crowd and looked at the place where roli was standing a while ago. But he didn't find her there.
"Where she might have gone?" He thought and went in search of her.
After searching her every corner, finally he let out a sigh of relief as his eyes spotted her. He rushed towards her while she was looking up at sky.
"Roli" called Sid whilst she looked at him like an angry kid and continued to look up.
"Roli.." he called again tapping her shoulder.
"Shh.. don't disturb" she said placing her finger on her lips, asking him to keep quiet. She again looked up and started counting.
"What are you doing?" Asked Sid, confused.
"Can't you see, I'm counting the stars.. you don't disturb me now, okay?" She bursted most like a kid.
"What? Stars?" Confused Sid, looking up at sky. He turned his attention towards roli whilst she was kept counting. He had observed her behaviour keenly and found something fishy. He then looked at side table on which two empty glasses were kept. He took one in his hand and got to know that it's of baang. Then it clicked in his mind, roli would definitely had baang.
"Oh god! What to do with this girl now?" He puzzled to himself.
"Roli" he called softly but soon got shocked by her response.
"How many times I should tell not to disturb me... Wait why I'm talking to you.. no I shouldn't.. go I'm cutty with you.. you go and celebrate holi wit that.. chipku girls" she bursted angrily like a kid.
"What I did now?" Asked Sid, confused.
"You.. you.." roli was thinking for a reason. "..Haan you don't care for me.. like I do for you.. you know how much I was waiting to play holi with you.. but you said you won't and now you came here but you're only playing holi with those girls but not with me.." roli spoke out with a pout.
"Arey yaar they're my friends and wishing me happy holi, that's it" said Sid, trying to explain her.
"Then me? What am I to you?" Roli grabbed his collar, surprising him.
"You.. you're also my.. friend" he replied, still confused with her behaviour.
"Only friend?" She asked looking into his eyes.
"Only friend?" Kept ringing in his mind as he too looked into her eyes. "Is she really just a friend to me?" he asked to himself while his heart and mind shouted 'no' in unison. He nodded as 'no' for her question even without his own knowledge. But soon got surprised on his own behaviour.
"What's happening to me?" He thought "but yes, she's not just a friend, much more than that" his heart whispered, making him surprised on his own confessions.
"I'm just a friend for you.. coz you won't like me.. you always say that I do chik chik pik pik.. and you won't love me.. you know how much I love you but I'm afraid to tell... What if you say that I'm just a friend for you.. no I can't bear it.. coz you're more than everything for me.. I love you so much.. I love you so much" she split out in her subconsciousness and fell on his chest, hugging him.
Sid was in shock and surprise to hear it from her. He stood like a statue in her hold.
"But you won't love me na" roli continued her mumbling, bringing Sid back to his senses. He held her shoulders and made her to look at him. He found tears rolling down her cheeks. He realised how hurt she would be and those tears which he really doesn't like to see in her eyes, reason for which he thought all these days was their friendship but it was the moment he realised that it's not just about friendship between them but, much more than any word could describe. He slowly cupped her face and wiped off her tears.
"Ae roli.. what do you think? For whom I've come here to celebrate holi which I don't like since my childhood haan?" Asked Sid softly, caressing her cheeks. "For you only right?" He continued as she looked him keenly.
"But you didn't come to me and you were with those girls, smiling at them" she complained innocently.
With a chuckle Sid started "yeah, I met them first coz they were standing near entrance but see did I let them to apply colour on my face" said sid while roli noticed his face and found not a single mark on his it.
"It's because you won't like colours" said roli with a cute pout. Sid smiled at her reply.
"No, roli. It's not that. In fact I want you to apply colour on me first that's why I didn't let anyone to do that" he explained, making it clear to her.
"So you won't scold me if I apply colour to you" she asked like an innocent kid.
"Never" he replied, confidentially.
Roli, with a broad smile, took red colour from upon the side table and applied on both of his cheeks. Sid's heart skipped a beat, seeing her like an excited kid. His lips curved a smile, seeing her happiness.
"Now happy?" Sid asked while she nodded as 'yes', excited. "Let's go now" he said but stopped by roli.
"Where?" "Roli, you really need rest now, so please" he requested with a concern as she wasn't in her senses.
"I'm not coming anywhere" said roli, determined, crossing her arms.
"Roli, please listen to me atleast once Yaar" he said in a pleading tone.
"I'll come but one condition" said roli, holding his hand.
"What's it?" Asked Sid, shrinking his forehead.
"Give me a kiss" shooted roli, making his eyes wide open.
"What?" Shocked Sid as he wasn't expecting such a condition from her.
"Give it or else I'm not coming anywhere" roli determined, crossing her arms with an angry pout.
"Siddanth you? Here?" They heard a voice and found sujata standing in all surprise.
"Maa.. Woh.." Sid got interrupted by roli.
"See maa, siddanth ji is not giving what I've asked for.. he's very bad" roli complained like a kid while Sid was freezed by her blabbering.
"Oh, don't worry beta he'll give, I'll tell him okay" Sujata said, guessing roli's condition as almost everybody's condition was same then. "By the way, what do you asked for?" She continued making Sid shocked.
"Woh.. I just asked for a.." Sid closed roli's mouth with his palms before she could split out everything.
"It's nothing maa.. she's just kept talking.. you know her right.. I think she should need some rest, I'll take her to room.. you all enjoy the holi celebrations" said Sid in a go and almost dragged roli from there, still closing her mouth.
