Chapter - 5
Sid, reaching his room, went to freshen up himself in an exhaustive state due to a busy day. After relaxing himself under a hot shower, he returned from washroom, changed into his night wear, settled on a couch with his laptop to prepare presentations for their next meeting.
"Siddanth" called sujata as she enters into his room while he forced a smile at her.
"Had your dinner?" She asked, keeping the water bottle on a table beside his bed.
"Yeah, maa, we had it with our clients" replied Sid, still looking into his laptop.
"Now keep this laptop aside.." she took it from his hands "..go and take rest, you really need it" she continued, keeping a caring arm on his shoulder.
"Maa, but I have to prepare presentations" said him as he tried to take his laptop back but sujata stops him, showing her hand as she looked into screen, seriously.
"You are missing her, right?" She asked as she found roli and his pic on wallpaper whilst Sid silently stares at the pic.
"Me too" continued sujata as she knows her son's answer, slowly caressing roli's pic.
"Don't worry maa, she'll be with us very soon" encouraged Sid as he knew how close was his mother with roli, holding sujata's hand, consolingly.
"If that happens then I'll be the most happiest person" says sujata with an emotional smile.
"But not more than me" commented Sid to ease the situation which is turning to emotional.
"Haan Haan, but now go and sleep beta, it's already too late" says sujata, keeping laptop aside and left his room.
And without any other go, Sid went to his bed, knowing his mom won't let him to work at late night.
Sid remembered the moments he had spent with roli. That sudden proximity, her shining eyes all flashed in front of him which he was missing all these days. He smiled remembering his first encounter with her, three years back.
FLASHBACK
A fresh morning, rather a busy day.
St. Ann's, a well reputed university of Delhi, is all crowded more than usual as today being the first day of college after summer vacation, Freshers are busy in search of their respective rooms while few are introducing themselves to others and few are chit-chatting among their groups. A complete college environment all around.
"Principal sir is calling you all" informed peon to the gang of five, who were busy with their talks. "Why he's calling?" they wondered taking a look at the other but calmly followed the peon upto principal's room.
"Good morning, sir" wished a guy of early twenties, wearing white shirt with top two buttons left open revealing his rough torso, pairing with a black jeans, adoring a charming face, in short - a guy for whom any girl would fall head over heels.
"What is this siddanth?" Questioned principal to that guy in a serious tone.
"What happened sir?" asks a confused Sid, taking a look at his friends, who are equally confused like him.
"Is this a way to behave in college? How can you guys do comment on girls?" Yelled principal, seriously.
"We haven't commented on anyone" replied Sid, swiftly as he's not the one who can take anyone scolding him.
"We've got complaint from juniors about seniors commenting on them and such rubbish things aren't encourageable in this college. And Sid, only because of your parents, I'm not taking any action against you, don't spoil their reputation with your careless behaviour" scolded principal while Sid walked out of the office room as soon as he'd completed it whilst principal sighed knowing his behaviour.
"Don't repeat this" warned principal while rest of the students silently nodded and left from there.
"Who complained now?" questioned Sid in a frustrating tone while his gang looked at him helplessly as they too don't have any idea about it.
"Me" they heard a voice and were surprised to see a girl whom they never saw till date in their college, she might be a fresher, they thought.
"For what?" asked Sid, a bit rudely.
"For whatever you've done and before you repeat this again, you better remember this lecture of principal" she warned in her typical style.
"I don't know what I've done but, I must tell you that you've done a mistake by doing this and you don't worry about principal's lecture coz we are habituated to it but from now on you better get habituated to complain about us coz we'll repeat this again and again" Sid replied in a tit for tat tone and left from there while his gang followed him.
"How rude" she thought, angrily looking at the way he's left.
"Roli.." she heard a voice. "..what are you doing here and who are they?" a girl asked, reaching her.
"Neha, this guy is the way too rude, he isn't going to change even after getting a complaint against him" roli expressed her anger.
"you've given complaint on him?" asked neha in surprise for which roli slightly nodded with a confused face.
"Why? What happened, they're the ones who commented on our class girls no?" asked roli, innocently.
"Offo! Roli, they aren't, the other gang of their class has commented, not these guys" neha said while roli hits her head with her hand for the blunder she has done.
"That's why he was saying that he don't know, oh god" said roli, looking up.
"Ok we'll deal with this later but now we are getting late for class, let's go" said neha in hurry burry and left to the class followed by roli.
Being the first day of college, no such classes were taken by professors and it was all about self introduction and making new friends. Roli, who already got a new friend, neha when she entered into college early morning, also got few more friends which was like a bit relief to her coz she was nervous like hell when her dad informed about shifting her from Mumbai to Delhi for MBA. She directly refused to shift to Delhi but all thanks to her dad, who had made her to accept with his emotional blackmail. And now it's all a new place for her and moreover staying away from her dad is going to be another task for her as she's never used to be without her dad.
With all chit-chats, it's time to take a leave from college. Roli searched for Sid to ask apology but she didn't find him anywhere, thinking to talk to him the next day, she went to her dad who's waiting for her at parking area.
