Chapter - 6
Sid reached a big mansion on his bike. Parking his bike, he started marching towards entrance. As soon as he stepped in, he was shocked to see the person standing in hall.
"What are you doing here?" He shouted making that person to jerk.
"You here?" She asked, unbelievably which annoyed him even more.
"So you even reached my home to complain against me" he yelled at her whilst she nodded as no.
"Woh.." "roli what happened?" Asked a middle-aged lady, reaching hall. "Oh, Sid, again late today" she continued, finding Sid in hall.
"Leave all those maa. But, who's she?" He asked, angrily looking at roli,who's standing like a kid stands in front of teacher after doing any mischievous act.
"She's daughter of your dad's friend" answered Sujata with a smile.
"Who's that friend now?" Asked Sid, annoyingly whilst roli glared at him like an angry kid.
"If you ever come to any family functions then only you'll get to know who our friends and relatives are, right?" Said mataji as she descending stairs. "..but you are always busy in your own world, beta" she continued, settling down on sofa.
"That's all fine but, why she's here now?" He urged, totally pissed off with all tauntings.
"She'll be here with us till she completes her studies" replied mataji, much like a shock to Sid.
"What!?" Shouted Sid in shock, making roli to look at him in horror.
"Siddanth, what's your problem?" Asked Sujata, confused.
"She's my problem. Do you know what she did today?" Said Sid, taking an angry look at roli.
"I've not done it purposely, it was a misunderstanding" said roli, convincingly.
"What misunderstanding? Tell what actually happened?" Inquired mataji to settle the matter between them.
"Woh mataji, actually today morning few boys teased our class girls. When they showed me those guys, I've by mistake seen him and thought he's the one who teased, so complained to principal about him" clarified roli while Sujata and mataji laughed, making her surprised.
"Roli, actually you've done a very good thing" said Sujata amongst her laughter. "And siddanth, now don't behave like a good boy okay. Talking as if this is the first ever complaint against you. Have you forgot how many times your dad and mataji got calls from your school and college because your acts" sujata's words had taken Sid to the edge of annoyance. He felt so embarrassed to get taunted in front of the girl to whom he had warned to take revenge.
"Siddanth, it's just a small matter, leave it. And yes, she'll stay here with us as her father is out of India now, so till he returns, she is our responsibility" mataji made it clear to Sid that he has to stay with roli in the same house. Without saying anything he left to his room.
"Roli, please don't mind his words, beta. That's how he is" explained Sujata in a consoling tone.
"It's okay maa. And you've already said about him but never thought that he would be like this. May be because of our morning tiff" replied roli who's already somewhat aware of Sid's behaviour as Sujata used to say about him whenever they meet in business parties.
"If you wouldn't have done it then also his behaviour would be the same. Anyways leave it, now go and take rest, you must be tired" said Sujata, caressing roli's hairs whilst she smiled and went to her room which was arranged for her.
At Night
Roli, Sujata and mataji were sitting in hall after having dinner and chit-chatting among themselves. Roli saw Sid entering into hall whilst Sid too saw her and giving a hot chilled look at her, turned his face away from her.
"Sid" called Sujata, stoping him from heading to his room.
"Dinner?" She asked, knowing what would be the answer.
"Had" he replied simply, playing with his phone. Whilst Sujata nodded her in despair as it's routine for him to have food outside and spending most of the time out with friends which is surely unacceptable for her but she couldn't do anything as he's such an adamant who never hears to anyone and does what he want.
"Okay. Once go and check light in roli's room, it seems not working properly" she said while he took his head from phone and looked at her, confused.
"Maa, I'm not an electrician. How would I know what's the problem with light" he denied, annoyingly.
"It's just that bulb got loosened and you have to fix it into the holder that's it, no need to be an electrician to do this simple thing" explained Sujata but still Sid wasn't in a mood to help roli.
"Siddanth, please beta. We can't find any electrician in this late night" requested mataji while he accepted, half heartedly and moved towards roli's room.
"Roli, go beta, he might need help" insisted Sujata while roli too went behind him, silently.
Sid, who entered into roli's room, found bulb in good condition and working properly. He turned to go out whilst roli entered in which made her to bump with him.
"Can't you see while walking" yelled Sid whilst roli caressing her forehead.
"Even I can say the same. And I got hurt, not you" replied roli in same tone, still caressing her forehead.
"Why I'm wasting my time with you. Anyways, bulb is working properly, no need to do anything" he said and was about to step out of room.
"Actually that bulb is needed to be fixed" said roli, pointing to opposite side.
"Is one light not enough for you" he said, pissed off.
"It's too bright and I can't sleep in such brightness" said roli looking at annoyed Sid.
"Then switch it off and sleep" he replied as a solution.
"But I can't sleep in dark" she said with a pout.
"Can't sleep in brightness, can't sleep in dark. Thinking yourself as princess or what?" He barked in anger.
"I know you're still angry on me for morning's issue. I accept my mistake and I'm sorry for that" she apologized, knowing his anger right away.
"You've made me to listen principal's lecture in front of my friends and now saying sorry. Do you think I'll forgive you? Never" he said, sternly.
"I'm accepting my mistake, right? Then why you're still angry?" She bursted with her hands on her waist, making him to surprise at her sudden change in behaviour.
"You better stay away from me" he said, looking straight at her, getting back to his form.
"As if I'm desperate to be with you" she mumbled, crossing her arms, looking away like an angry kid.
"What?" He asked, seriously, well hearing her mumbling.
"Light" she again pointed towards light, diverting the topic.
"Better to get out from this place than arguing with you" he said and moved towards the light.
He took a stool, got on to it and fixed the bulb into holder.
"Wait a minute" said roli, stopping him, who was about to get down from stool while he looked at her in confusion.
Roli switched off the existing light and turned on the one Sid had fixed.
"Now it's perfect" said roli, taking a look of complete room.
After checking the whole room, her eyes found Sid, who was glaring at her, seriously.
"Hmm.. thank you" she said in a low tone.
"Shall I get down or princess want anything else" he replied in a sarcastic way whilst she pouted at his taunt.
"That's all" she said, slowly.
When he was about to get down, he lost the balance and was about to fall down whilst roli came forward to hold him but, couldn't stand with the force and they both ended up falling on the bed.
Roli was clutching Sid's shirt in fear whilst Sid's hands wrapped around her like a protective shield. They both kept their eyes closed, tightly as everything happened in a matter of milliseconds. And when they realised, they found themselves in eachother's arms. Sid opened his eyes and saw roli, who's lying below him with closed eyes and tightly holding his shirt in fear. He realised how close they are that not even an inch of gap is there between them. So close that his lips were slightly touching hers. Gaining his senses, he lifted his head up whilst roli opened her eyes, still clutching his shirt.
Their eyes got locked for a moment. His eyes were started reading her entire face, her pink lips, chubby cheeks, her shinning eyes which were adoring an innocence of a kid. He has found a special thing in her face, her well trimmed monobrow, which is making her look unique. Whilst roli was lost in his eyes which were reflecting a softness in them. Though his words and behaviour is rude but, he has got a soft corner in his heart which she could clearly see in his eyes.
A complete silence, room was not so bright and not so dark and their closeness, all were creating an unknown feeling in them, which their hearts found as pleasure whereas their minds went numb. He slowly took his hands towards her face to remove the strand of hairs which were disturbing her face whilst she felt butterflies dancing in her stomach as Sid's hand nearing her face.
"What the hell you're doing Sid" his mind scolded him, gaining it's senses back. Getting back to his conscious state, he swiftly took his hand back and tried to get up. But, being his hands wrapped around her, he couldn't get up.
Understanding the situation, roli got up first, adjusting her hair behind her ears in embarrassment. While Sid too got up and literally ran out of the room.
Roli took pillow in her hand, held it tightly and trying hard to control the butterflies which were still kept on dancing in her stomach, making her restless. His closeness had created a strong impact on her, reason for which, is even unknown to her. But she's surely affected by his presence, very badly!
