Dumbstruck, he stood there, reading the spark of love in her eyes, reading between the words she so thriftily spoke, reading her face that was now composed of a million, deep, heartfelt emotions. She was phenomenally beautiful, looked incredibly well-read and witty, carried the very fire in her eyes, she claimed she saw in his but that wasn't what was drawing him to her. It was the fact that he felt she was the one who lit that fire and escorted that smile to his lips and now that she had confessed to having fallen in love with him, he felt all the more elated and confident to relate the pangs that harrowed him. Yet there was just one thing, just that one thing that stopped him from doing so, the vow of celibacy he had taken.
Her gait gave away all of her eagerness to hear from him as he looked up at her and felt burdened under the weight of her wait for an answer. This was another one of those instances for him when his heart wasn't being quite agreeable in the eyes of his mind.
"Rajkumari, I don't think I am free to act as I please, being on an exile." He said at last, having mustered the courage to look directly at her, staunchly believing he couldn't go back on his word.
"I know of the vow you took, Rajkumar. Who hasn't heard of it? Yet I believe the vow was limited to Samragyi Panchali and the lord of the universe, Vasudeva Krishna would agree." Uloopi stated with the utmost vigour "And therefore I believe you are free to act as You wish."
Reasoning and taking what she spoke to be the truth made Arjuna feel the joys that came tagging along with love. Yes, he loved her and was no longer bound by promises to not express freely.
"Uloopi, I have never before been the one who is comfortable with talking about his feelings but as I look at you now.." He paused a bit, looking at her with bated breath as love splashed the lightest shade of crimson onto his cheeks "I think that they are all about love this time. Henceforth this Parth is yours till the day the moon god chooses to look down at the both of us, unaccompanied by the stars."
And Uloopi's face flashed the darkest shade of crimson as she lowered her gaze and he took her hand into his.
"Let me go, Rajkumar." Exclaimed Uloopi, trying in vain to free herself from the clutches of the third Pandava "I need to go bring all those whose approval and presence is of immense importance for our union to be solemnized." And he let her go.
***There was a shower of flowers as he garlanded the prettiest flower he had ever set his eyes upon. He felt he needed nothing more that moment, just her hand to hold, just her eyes to admire, just her heart to feel possessive about, just her soul to shower his affection and care on.
"Aryaputra!" She cried and he bent down to let her put the strung roses around his neck.
It was one of the times Agnidev himself stood pleased and lavishly blessed the couple whose wedding he was bearing a witness to, as they revolved around him, taking the seven vows.
"I shall take care of you and stand by you as you battle out all obstacles that come in your way." Uloopi pronounced.
"And I shall make all my ways, ours, all your pain, mine." Arjuna followed, looking at her with happy tears streaming his eyes "I will always love and cherish you."
"I will love you too" She chorused as the two walked around the altar for the fourth time"And I will be responsible for taking care of the household and raising our children."
"May you live a healthy and prosperous life and strive for the education of our children and may our children live long." He took it forward from there, knowing only the presence of her deep, dreamy eyes.
"They would. You fill my heart with immense joy and I beseech you to keep doing so forever." Authoritatively did Uloopi say, sincerely, wholeheartedly wishing for nothing but his love.
"I will. I repeat, you are mine and I am yours till the day the moon god looks down at us, unaccompanied by the stars." He declared, cheerfully.
~That's all for now. Will be back soon with the next chapter. 😊
