CHAPTER 11
Chubby took a huge bite into his Double Chicken Burger, as he walked towards the cafeteria
"Need to get another one of these" he thought as he continued to munch on it
Sidharth came and placed a friendly arm over his shoulder
"Hey Chubby what's up"
Chubby looked at him, a little startled
"F...F ..Fine" he stammered as he tried to walk away
"Hey Chubby wait up...what's the hurry...Come I'll buy you lunch today"
"Huh...y...y...you gonna buy me lunch" he asked stammering slightly
"And w...w...what's the catch"
"Catch. Now I'm offended. Why is it that you and Nerdy Patel always think negatively about me. ." He said with a sad pout
Chubby scrunched up his nose as he wiped the barbecue sause from his mouth with his sleeves; making Sidharth cringe at the sight
"Sorry Sid ..I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to offend you"
"It's okay " replied Sidharth tapping him on the shoulder
"CHUBBY!! Why are you saying sorry ..." intervened Roshni as she walked up to him. ..
"Aa gaye Jhansi ki Rani...attack mode ON, Phir se!!" Mumbled Sidharth
"Dekha jaye tho Sidharth and his loser friends should be apologising to you!" She hissed
"Ohh Hello! Nerdy Patel. What did I do. Why should I say sorry. Maine kya kiya?"
"For terrorising new students. And you Chubby have you forgotten what you told me?"
"Huh..what?" Asked Chubby confused
"Arre what this Sidharth did to you on your first day. He made you eat a Burger from the trash can...bhol gaya sab kuch"
"Hey Nerdy Patel, Kyon bhool jati ho tum. Tradition! SIMPLE. And I have never bothered Chubby after that. Have I ? he asked turning to Chubby who shook his head in agreement
"Arggg!! Just shut up okay" hissed Roshni

Chubby closed one ear with his hand, as the other was preoccupied with holding the Burger
"GUYS!!!! Stop it!! Why are you two behaving like a married couple..In fact I don't think husband and wives fight as much as you two do!"
"Shut up Chubby" Sidni shouted together
"Chubby think before you speak! " scolded Roshni "Mein air isse..NEVER..My choice will never be that bad when I get married"
"What do you mean Not that bad. .Girls go crazy mere piche. .okay " snapped back Sidharth
"Yeh right...only the crazy ones. " she giggled
"Look Nerdy Patel"
"I don't want to look okay" she mocked
"Tumhe to mein. .." hissed Sidharth
"Kya...Kya..." hissed Roshni back
"Mein...mein ..tumhe..." but his sentence was interrupted
"Okay stop it tum dono" shouted Chubby and Sidni turned their backs to each have other
"Chubby tell your new friends to leave my friends alone.." said Roshni adjusting her spectacles
"And Chubby apni is friend ko thode manners sikado"
Roshni frowned as she turned back to Sidharth
"Look who's talking about manners hahaha.."
"Shut up...I have more manners than you okay?" He replied, as he too turned back to face her
Both stared at each other...huffing and puffing. FINGERS POINTED
Chubby eyes wandered back and forth between Sidni
"Hey I have an idea"
"WHAT" Both screamed without taking their glares off each other
"Why don't the two of you forget you're differences and become friend's..." voiced Chubby all of a sudden
"WHAT FRIENDS ISSE!" Both said in unison
"I'd rather make friend's with a hyena!" Frowned Roshni
"Me too!" Retorted Sidharth instantly
Roshni glared, but Sidharth just grined and winked at her.
Roshni just scrunched up her nose. Sidharth shook his head, and ran a fingers through his thick hair
"Such a attitude queen.Jitne beautiful iske ankhen hai. .uthna attitude hai issme. I'm such a duffer. Jab bhi woh samne atti hai I loose control. This girl is driving me crazy!!!" He thought as he watched her walking away, dragging Chubby along
"Waise...friends..hmmm...could we.." he mumbled to himself
Roshni sighed heavily,
"Rosh. Why do you argue with him so much. He seems like a nice guy"
"Nice guy seriously. He said a few nice words and tum usse ghun gaane lage. He is not nice he's selfish. ..he's stubborn. ..he's. ..he's. ...he's"
Chubby just grabbed her hand "Chill itni hyper kyon Ho rahi Ho. ..come let me buy you some orange juice. Maybe that'll cool you down"
LATER THAT DAY
Sidharth left an unusual uneasiness. He hadn't seen Roshni since the lunch break. He searched for her around college but she was nowhere to be seen.
He went to the library, checked the cafeteria. The classes...
His heart beats picked up and started running double it's pace
"Kahan Ho tum" he stressed as he brushed his fingers frantically through his hair.
"I hope your okay.."
Finally his eyes fell on her. She was sitting under a tree,.leaning against it reading her book.
Sidharth let out a sigh of relief. He had no idea why he had felt that way..But he didn't question himself either
He came and sat down beside her, and Roshni rolled her eyes.
"God what's his problem..why is he here" thought Roshni, although her heart was jumping with joy
"Look Sidharth I'm not in the mood to fight with you. Mein tak gaye hoon. Please go away. Jao yahan se! "
"Arre. What makes you think I'm here to fight with you"
"Tho phir kisliye ayye Ho. Look if this is some new plan mujhe tang karne ka..tho please I'm too tired...not today. Take your revenge or do your ragging tomorrow
Sidharth made a cute pout "Is that what you seriously think. That I just want to take some sort of revenge on you..!"
Roshni nodded her head cutely, as she put her book away "Aur nahin toh kya"
"Nerdy Patel. ..oops I mean Roshni"
She flattered her eyelids as she gazed at him. This was the first time he had said her name, and somehow it sounded so good to hear her name from his lips. .making her smile slightly
Closing his eyes, and drawing a deep breath he said to himself "Sid...come on..You can do it"
He sighed deeply, and opened his eyes and finally said what he wanted to say
"Actually I was ahhh wondering..." And he stopped and looked at her
"Wondering what?" Asked Roshni raising her eyebrows
"About what Chubby said. ."
Roshni looked bewildered "What did he say?"
"You know about us being er...er...Friends!" Can we just forget the last few days and be friends"
A moment passed. Then a few more moments passed.
Roshni stared at him for the longest amount of time...she honestly didn't know how to answer the question
Silence
And then suddenly Roshni burst into fits of laughter
"Friends! YOU AND ME! You're so funny Sidharth" Roshni giggled hysterically
"Roshni!" Sulked Sidhrth disappointed, as he scrunched his forehead 'Whats so funny?"
"Good joke Sidharth ..you're sence of humour is improving day by day" she laughed some more
"Roshni I'm serious!" He argued and Roshni stopped laughing
She leaned in and sniffed his breath "Drunk kya " she asked innocently
"No I'm not drunk. I'm seriously serious!"
"No...I know your pulling my leg...where's the catch?"
"Roshni believe me, there is no catch...I Just want to be your friend. Saachi.."
"Sidharth You and I friends! But..."
"Why do you look so shocked. Whats the harm?"
Roshin looked around wondering what to say or how to react. She was confused with the new turn in events
"Come on Roshin, try kar leyteh hai. What say?"
"Sidharth why do you want to be friends with the college Nerd? "
"Please don't embarrass me Roshni. I already feel guilty for all the things my friends have said and done. Can't we just forget all that and start afresh. Can't we be friends?"
Roshni sat thinking..."could they be friends..or was this some sick joke"
Sidharth took a deep sigh
"Roshni give this friendship a chance. I promise I won't ever disappoint you" he said softly ..his eyes portrayed, he was being honest. He meant every word of it
Roshni ran her hands though hair long silky locks trying to digest his word
"Ummm"
"Please " he pleaded
He waited anxiously "if it's making you uncomfortable... then it's okay. Just forget it" he muttered looking down at the grass..with a small pout
"No. No. ." She blurted out a little too quickly
"I mean...it doesn't make me feel uncomfortable "
"So??" He asked impatiently ..
"So..." she repeated
Pause...
"What the heck Roshni...why at you making this difficult..just answer the question already!" He was too eager
Sidharth extended his hand
"So...Friends"
Roshni looked down at his hand and hesitated for a moment..
"Okay" she replied softly
"Friends" she finally replied raising her hand to shake it with his
The touch sent an electrical current throughout their entire bodies, as their eyes locked and hands sealed.
A smile appeared on his face as he experienced an unknown satisfaction, which made him feel complete.
A shy smile appeared on her lips as she looked down at their joined hands...
What that satisfaction was beyond the measure of ecstasy. ...And only time would reveal the feelings they had for each other
Sidharth sat blinking his eye.
"I still cant believe it...you and me are officially friend's "
"Hmmm"
"Pinch me!"
"Kya?"
"I said pinch me!" So Roshni obliged and pinched him
"Ooch...itni zor se" he said rubbing the area where she had pinched him, and she smirked and replied
"You didn't mention how hard. You just said pinch me and I did" she said innocently, shrugging her shoulders, smiling mischievously
The next few hours, they spent getting to know each other. They talked, joked, giggled, laughed and teased each other as if they were old friends united after ages..enjoying each other'scompany to the fullest...
Roshni started giggling and Sidharth furrowed his eyes
"What's so funny?.Tum haas kyon rahi ho. Isme funny kya tha? " he asked with an annoyed expression
"Just your face. I never knew Sidharth Khurana could be so cute" she giggled pulling one of his cheeks
"Please! Aisa kuch nahin hai...I'm not cute okay. Teddy bears, Bunny Rabbits and kids are cute...sumjhi! But haan, I'm really hot though" he winked
"Hot! Yeh right...why can't I see that angle " she teased
He gazed into her eyes for a moment, as she squirmed uneasily and looked away
"Waise Roshni ..do you find me handsome, and sexy, like every other girl in the college?" He asked raising a brow "Do you think I'm attractive?" and waited for her reply
"PLEASE DON'T SAY NO...DON'T SAY NO..." he pleaded in his thoughts. But he had no idea why he was being so desperate
Roshni took her time answering the question as she looked him up and down
"No!" She replied bluntly
"Wow now I'm hurt" he mumbled to himself, then
"ARE YOU BLIND?"
"What?" asked a startled Roshni
"YOU DON'T FIND ME ATTRCTIVE. ME! THE SIDHARTH KHURANA! Hawww " he faked a gasp and covered his hand with his hand
Roshni tried to control her giggle, and shook her head "No"
"Oh come on Roshni. Look at this flawless body. Every inch of it screams perfection" he said as he got up...posing
Roshni stood up, compressing her giggle
"Actually...I don't mean your not handsome, not like er...er the other girls find you handsome. You are er...er decent looking...that's it!" She said trying to look convincing
"You think I'm just decent looking...that's it?"
"Hmmm"
"My foot! Just admit it you find me irresistible"
He could see she was getting irritable.. but she looked so beautiful when she was angry
She glared at him, with an angry pout playing on her lips, and he smirked much to her annoyance
"Its okay. You can tell me that I'm hot, sexy, and irresistible . I reeeaally won't mind?" He teased
"Irresistible? Sexy huh? My foot" she hissed you look like...you...you...
"I know..I know I'm crazy hot..hai nah?"
Roshni rolled her eyes
"Nobody can resist my Good looks,My charm, my style...My..."
"You look like a monkey..and You smell like one too!" Roshni stuck out her tongue and Sidharth chuckled
"MONKEY...MONKEY...MONKEY! SIDHARTH LOOKS LIKE A MONKEY" she giggled, pointing a finger at him
"Wait I'll show you" and started running after her
Both giggled and teased each other as they ran..
"Monkey Khurana...Monkey Khurana" she giggled
"Wait let me show you..with whom you have taken panga"
Both continued to run like Tom and Jerry, when Roshni was about to trip, but Sidharth caught her...
She was breathing heavily. Her eyes closed. Her fair stands covering her face. Sidharth once again stood mesmerized...his heartbeat and breathing were out of control.
He pulled her up and she collided with his chest. Both felt a shiver rum through their bodies...as she opened her eyes
Sidharth was lost in her beautiful eyes, her luscious lups and rosy cheeks which only added to her innocence.
Both their eyes locked on to each others, and their breathing got hitched...as if they had found their destination.
Their trance was broken by a cough. It was none other than Misha who looked totally pissed off
"Sid. What's going on here?"
Roshni lowered her eyelashes as Sidharth let go of her slowly...
"Misha hey...I have an announcement to make. Roshin and I are now officially friends..so from now one I expect you to be nice to her too.." he smiled as he looked back at Roshni
"What? Friends!!!" Sge shrieked
Sidharth gave a quick glance to Roshni before dragging Misha away
"Sid how could you make friends with that low life...that Nerd...that creep"
"Watch your tongue Misha. I will not tolerate a word against Roshni do you get that! If you dont like my friendship with her, then stay away from her" he was angry
"Sid you are shouting at me because of that Bitch"
"ENOUGH!" Screamed Sidharth "Not a word I said. Not a word. Just stay away from Roshni. .and I mean it!"
"Are you threatening me Sid:
"Consider yourself threatened! " hissed Sidharth as his eyes raged red and he walked away...leaving a fuming Misha behind
"I won't spare that bloody Bitch. Sidharth is my friend. Only mine...I won't spare you Nerdy Patel. And I'll make sure this friendship doesn't last. .." she smirked...
Unaware of Misha thoughts, Sidni spent the rest of the day in touch with each other.
They picked up every opportunity to talk to each other or connect with each other.
The joyful wait of anticipating the arrival of the next message on their phones, and the sparkling feeling of writing the next message to be sent, kept them busy the whole day...
But still the thing called LOVE was waiting anxiously to be recognised..knocking on the doors of their heart.. but they were too deaf to listen...
