Since it was early in India, she followed him glumly to baggage.
He knew what he was doing, she basically just gawked and yawned intermittently
"Its lunch time?" she asked crinkling her eyes peeking out as they headed out
"No, its not" he chuckled
"Can I give this bag?" she asked exhausted taking her backpack off, and plonking it on top of the cart
"Still sleepy?" he asked
"u are walking fast" she declared
He hailed the Four Seasons limo and helped the driver with the bags
Opened her door
"U are not coming?" she asked confused
"Oh yes... I am" he smiled mischievously
When he slid in by her she relaxed visibly
The driver threw a sheepish grin at them and started to drive
"I dont remember much about taking another plane to Koh Samoohi?" she mumbled
"I bet you dont... it was too tiring" he nodded
"How many hours?" she stared outside
"30" he said quietly
"THIRTY HOURS IN THE CAR?" she was not happy
He sighed
"SO LONG?"
Wish she had punched in her name, googled (using the limo's free wifi)
"We can just go to Goa no" she reminded
"Well... its too late now" he said shaking his head
"THIRTY HOURS? We take plane for that na?" she quizzed
"I guess u cud" he nodded, checking his email
"Ashwinnn... so long?" she poked, seeking his attention
"We will be fine" he said distractedly
She stared out the window shocked by the stunning beauty of the island
Briefly forgetting it was going to be "30 hours"
"Like Ullal" she said aloud
"Hmm?" he looked up, trying to see where she was looking
"I miss Ullal" she said almost choking
"Wud it make u feel better if I said its 30 kms and not 30 hours?" he whispered
"Ashwinnn" her tone a blend of annoyance and relief
"Trish... weve got plenty to do" he muttered showing her images on his phone
"So many water things only?" she asked
"What do u want to do?"
"Just go to palace and such?"
He smiled fondly...
"Umm.. not sure abt history" he admitted
She looked out again
The car pulled up to the lobby
Bags were dispatched, room was confirmed, key cards handed, along with a pretty looking drink with a orchid floating on top
"I like purple" she declared taking the alcoholic concoction without a clue
He went for water...
It was a gorgeous beachfront pool villa with panoramic views of Thailand Bay.
They were driven in a gold cart to their own villa
She cuddled the drink feeling the morning breeze
He was gone after paying the bellhop
She set her drink down and washed up and returned
She took off her keds and socks and walked barefeet on the bamboo deck
the breeze swaying the canopy around the bed in soft swishy motion
"Oh" she gasped... not knowing what to say, as she gasped at the crystal blue ocean, the waves lifting up their necks,
the whistling sea breeze, the vastness of the horizon the rich blue skies melting into the liquid sapphire waters
She turned around to look
"Ashwinn... its so beautiful" she waved her arm theatrically unable to describe it in fluent English
He nodded
He had taken his Sperrys off, hands tucked in his pockets he leaned on the wide French door
"More pretty than Ullal!!!" she said unable to comprehend how that could even be
"Not really" he said looking deep into her eyes
