CHAPTER 11
Sid opens the door and gently forces Roli in to the front seat whilst he occupies the driving seat and starts driving without waiting a second. He removes his cap, the cloth that covered has face below his eyes and pulls out the sponge pieces inside his t- shirt that helped him to look fatter so that no finger will point at him during the investigation. . Throwing them to a polythene cover, he turns to Roli and finds her looking at him intently. "What???' he asks. "Why did you save me?' she asks. "give me some time...I can answer all your questions, but not now...' he says and concentrates on driving at full speed..
Half an hour later. Sid stops the car by a deserted road near the woods. He removes his seat belt and turns to Roli. "Now ask all what you got to ask...I can answer you...' he asserts. "Why did you save me when you think that I cheated our nation; I cheated you?' asks Roli as her eyes begins to get moist. Sid smiles little and makes her face him by lifting her face by her chin. "Do you think about me in the same way your mom do?' he questions back. Roli is confused about his question and just looks at him doubtfully. "Do you think I'm with you just for my physical needs?' asks Sid shocking Roli. "What nonsense are you blurting out Siddhant?' asks Roli as she holds his shoulder. Sid grabs her hand from his shoulder and kisses on it. "Then how did you even think that I will mistrust you?' questions him making a tear slip from her eye. "Roli...I would have believed those allegations on you if I have loved just your body...But Roli; I have loved you; your soul...I have fallen in love with every aspect of yours...And So I know that my Roli doing something nasty as they said is far, but won't even think of doing all that...' he states. Roli who has been listening to him intently all the while finds it difficult to control her tears and quickly hugs him tightly. She sobs cuddling to his chest whilst he caresses her back digging his face in her hairs. "Shhh...Enough yaar...it's enough...' he utters sweetly in her ears to compose her. "I...I was af..Afraid...I almost died...Died back then when you said...Said that I ...cheated...' she sobs against his chest and gets no more words. Sid is a state of misery seeing her so broken and upset. "I know I hurt you so much by my sharp and unsympathetic words..But trust me yaar, I didn't mean any of them...I didn't mean them...' he confesses sincerely as he makes her to look in to his eyes. Roli looks at him with confused eyes whilst he cups her face lovingly. "confused na..i had to say all that back there because I didn't want things to go out of my hands. Roli still maintains her quizzical expression as he continues "The moment I came to know about all these, I was sure that you have been trapped by someone...I could have supported you, but if that happened, you might have been taken to some other centre giving the investigation charge to someone else...may be then I couldn't have saved you...to make them believe that I'm against you and that I will do everything possible to punish you, I had to speak out all that hard words...I know they hurt you so deeply..And I' really really sorry for that...' he says holding his ears like an innocent kid. Roli nods no and quickly takes his hand off his ears. She hugs him tightly and presses her face to his chest. "I'm so lucky to have you yaar...So so lucky...' she mumbles as he smiles and hugs her back even tightly.
"Siddhant...I got to tell you something really really important...' says Roli as she gets up from his chest remembering something. "No Roli...Not now...We don't have much time now...' says Sid as he picks up a phone from the car's cabinet. "But Siddhant...we can't do anything without you knowing about it...And now, you have helped me out of the detention...It's a lawbreaking yaar...' she says. "Roli...law is for protecting the truth...So it is better to break laws than allowing it to break the truth...' explains Siddhant. "May be you're right...but I just hope you don't get stuck amidst trying to save me...I can bear harm on me, but not you...IPS was your dream, your career, your field of excellence...I don't want you to lose your respect trying to get me out of these problems...' says her. Sid smiles and keeps palm on her cheek to console her. Roli tensely keeps her palm over his which is on face. They close their eyes for a while trying to fight the wars inside them.
A moment later, Siddhant opens his eyes and takes her hands in his. "Roli...I have told you when we entered this relationship; that I will always stay by your side, I'll walk by you no matter how much perils comes in our way..I'm your shield forever Roli; your kavach...Roli's body guard Siddhant..Remember na?' he questions with a glint of happiness and smile in his eyes. Roli nods happily, happy tears in her eyes now. "I love you na yaar...' she cries. "Love you too na yaar...' mumbles Sid as he pulls her to him and presses his lips open her forehead.
