A Few Days Later,

Arnav and Khushi had once again arrived at Dr.Singh's hospital to complete the process they had initiated there to stop any suspicions from arising. It was rather tough to handle their respective families when they reached their respective homes the day after. While Anjali and Nani seemed enthusiastic and delighted regarding the whole mishap, Shyam had fallen on his knees to beg for his sister's forgiveness.

It twitched in the deepest recesses of her heart but she would never dare to admit that she still loved the man whom she hated to call as her brother. It took every bit of her pent-up frustration and anger to refuse him of the salvation he yearned from her. She had already bestowed him with more than what he deserves and to provide the solace of forgiveness to him seemed to be bad idea to the woman in question.

After following the instructions of the AIIMS expert, Khushi was successful in getting rid of her hymen which threatened to wreck havoc on her life and she could breathe in peace since Dr.Singh would not be able to report any suspicious finding to the Raizada Family.

"I would like to remind you two that it might not work for the first time. It would be best if you don't keep your expectations very high. However, I will try my best to make it work from my side," said Dr.Singh, regret lacing her tone and etched into her features.

Arnav and Khushi just nodded and signed to continue with the procedure of artificial insemination. Though he knew that the lady beside him would never backoff, a part of him hoped that she would not put herself through the tormenting process and on the other hand, Khushi prayed that the process works the very first time so that her contract period ends as soon as possible.

The urge to drop out of the deal seemed to tempting and inviting, especially after the emotionally and mentally taxing night they had to spend. She wondered how many such nights she would have to endure if she were to continue but to drop out, after exploiting the privileges associated with it, appeared to be so low and cheap.

The process of insemination was a blur for her as it was for him. It was something that they both wanted to forget completely. Arnav wanted to let off the burden which kept haunting him that it was the future mother of his child that brought upon his climax. The mere thought of how his name would sound through her voice, in an albeit romantic context, proved to be a bane of self-control. On the other hand, the process was sign that she was no longer her own master.

It was a sign that she had lost herself in of money and was soon about to lose her body to a child who would leave her as soon as it leaves her body. Everything seemed extremely intimate to her suddenly. Her blood and Arnav's blood, his genes and her genes, they would become one to give rise to a new life. How blissfully enchanting was the feeling of giving a new life! But alas! Equally traumatizing was the reality for her.

"Let's hope for the best. We'll meet again after two weeks. If your menstrual flow occurs, then the process has failed and we would have to retry. All the best!" wished Dr.Singh with a sigh while Arnav and Khushi nodded at her curtly before leaving.

They were unable to look at each other. Awkwardness seemed to consume them before confusion shook Arnav. He found Khushi moving towards the main road, looking for autos or cabs.

"Ms.Gupta, let me drop you wherever you want to go," he asked, making her turn towards him.

"I don't want you to accuse me of using you as a driver, Mr.Raizada. I can support myself, but thank you," she replied, the mask of nonchalance well-adorned on her face.

" I am sure you can, Ms. Gupta. But trust me, I am not doing it for you but for my child that might be growing in you. I would like to think that you want this to succeed the first time as much as I want," he said, his voice gentle and soothing.

His words caused a blanket of goosebumps to form all over her. She was trying to come in terms with the reality but she could not bear him to be so straightforward about the whole scenario.

"I didn't know you actually cared about this, Mr.Raizada. I thought you were doing this for the wish-fulfillment of your family and were very much against this," she countered, hiding her own nervousness under that cover.

"I do, contrary to your belief, Ms.Gupta. It's hard to do something so emotionally exhausting and not get some strings attached and since we have come such a long way through to fulfill that wish, I guess somewhere it was bound to make a place in my thoughts," he answered, meeting her eyes and letting his amber ones engulf hers in a passionate embrace.

"WOW! Looks like I am learning a lot about you today, Mr.Raizada. I didn't know you can accept that something is hard," she said, smirking, hoping that his eyes leave hers and praying that he doesn't find the streaks of nervousness in the eyes he was floating in.

"There's a lot you don't about me and there's a lot of time to find out too. Now, Ms.Gupta, if you can oblige and allow me to drop you, I would be grateful to you for your favor. You see, this argument has begun to take a toll on me now," he teased while she just averted her eyes and nodded. She had to set her ego aside and allow to be defeated because it was one of those days when she felt her vulnerable self coming out to the fore and it was best that she subdues it rather than caring about a petty defeat.

He opened the passenger seat door for her and waited for her to be seated. She looked everywhere but at him and took her seat, allowing him to close the door like a true gentleman. The closing of the door, opened the doors of her brain and allowed myriads of questions and emotions to be flown into her as she prayed to get rid of those feelings which were proving to be a liability to her.

Vulnerability of one, concern of another, what name could the relationship be given?

Well, there is a long way for them as well as the baby...but how far will either of them truly get to know the other ?

Nice Update

Loved it

Both are trying to be cordial with each other. They have long way to go in understanding the other. Hope it works for them in trying for the baby first time itself. It will be difficult for both if they had to go for another try.

Lovely update
Both Arnav and Khushi have reached to a point where thry can't deny the thing taking place between them and loved how both are trying to be cordial with each other... True they have long way to go in understanding each other... I hope it works for them in trying fir the baby in first attempt itself if not it will be difficult and more awkward for both if they had to go for another try.
