Tan is a normal, hot blooded punjabi male.. wants his wife and his family and his home and daaru more than anything else and will defend what is him till cows come home. Dude is of a different mettle altogether. and yes while I immensely like Tan I Loooveee the Dude and the Dad!
Imagine the dude raising his voice EVERRR! he will just pick up his and his family's bags and LEAVE!!! No drama, no raising voices no arguments BOOM!!!

Tan is always my favorite character and loved him more in this chapter. I am waiting for this showdown, how can he ignore and be silent knowing about his mother that is not Tanmay Batra.
Mrs. Batra is a witch she don't know how blessed she is to have a son like him.

"Beti ka divorce ho chuka hai, bete ka ho jaaye ab?" he asked sternly

"So in order to sympathize with ur daughter u ruined ur DIL's life?" he asked bitterly... shaken. 👏👏

Wonderful chapter Nisha Thank you!

No way dude would raise his voice. . Yes he would pk and leave climbing up three steps at a time making his displeasure evident. And I get that as there are only multiple ways to approach a prob or different ppl approach it differently.
But then I guess ...when 'normal' is increasingly becoming rare, where there are more new normals now in place of old normals... I love the old typical normals more 😳 especially more so when it comes to Sosy. 😆

Yes, it was too good a chapter. I was thinking of prats/ SR whose favorite character of Sosy is also Tan.

Prats , if you are reading this, I guess he has even less hair now on his head with what's going on at SN.

The face off between Tan and his mom was brewing in the cauldron. I remember how Tan had ruminated over what the Bhallas had added to his life. The situation of almost acting as petty as the normal Mummas boy he decides to stand up and speak loud and clear.
What is endearing is the bond he shares with every member in the tale. He has been a caring straight forward guy. He understands the impact the scandal has had on the Bhallas. He does his best to see that they slowly but steadily heal from the aftermath. I adore him no doubt as he is a fine gentle man somebody we all hope to find in our family. As Shruthi says only after the Dude and the patriarch.
It appeared in the beginning as if Tan had taken after his dad but I think he holds the patriarch as his role model. While the the father in law hesitates at times to speak his mind Tan turns out with a perspective that sets the other thinking.
Senior Batra is hiding behind his wife by not censuring her attitude to Sam and her family she has emerged vile and vindictive and wilfully going about destroying the beautiful bond Tan has built.

If the Dude is blamed for entertaining his sister then why should we think Mr Iyer who has openly tried to have his younger daughter home to harbour the wish that II remained childless after Nivi ?

From the beginning of SoSy the dude has had taken a stance that Sam was not welcome to stay in MM. It was always II that would want her stay as her need for a chattering companion was met.
We all need a break and a change of setting does bring clarity to our thinking. The dude longs to have company in his crammed home in Paris.
He could stay in a fancy house yet preferred living without much fanfare and without even a car.
I guess he can't be blamed for playing this supportive role.
He is insistent to Tan that he will not transmit messages to his sister. He wants the Patriarch to step in. If he knows the reason for IIs present distraction he will pick his sister and drop her off in Tans custody.

Sri what's II's present distraction? Did you mean that she's not sure if she should invite other ladies for Navratri while Sam's at MM for an indefinite period of time. I did not get that.

While that can be II's distraction, that's not a good enough reason for Sam to be picked up and dropped under Tan's custody just like that and I don't think Dude would do that to both his sis and wife. II's distraction any way shoudnt be the catalyst here for Sam to be packed off.

What to me seems IIs worry is how her Appa might react to the need considering he has misgivings about everything happening in MM, he might get worked up and say things that can break the ties that bind her to MM remember his anxiety when II had to stay without the dude in MM ...She knows her Appa best so when Mrs Iyer calls to give her a list of to do everyday of Navratri when all this is happening around her , her work challenges as well...It can be a great distraction that caused her to stop mid road.

Sri, trust me ...II's not thinking about what Mr. Iyer would say now. She's battled hardened. Mr Iyer here is a long hop in this situation ... II was just Overwhelmed that moment and her mental weariness and exhaustion I believe is more the reason that caused her to stop mid way.

Sam needs to be in SN for herself and her family .. she shouldn't be driven home because of any other family member's misgivings or what others could say or think. Sam deserves more and that can't be the treatment meted out to her.
