Mahabharat showed that sequence well, because, like you said, they generally focus on Bhima and Arjuna. Yudhishtira, as far as my knowledge goes was an expert at the spear, though he didn't actually use it much, because of his love for Ahimsa.
I actually loved seeing Yudhisthir fight, because like you said he generally doesn't like ahimsa and thus doesn't engage in many battles, but by the time of Kurukshetra, he totally embraced Krishna's teachings and knew the war was necessary, so he put his heart and soul into it.
