Deepavali fever is over, and Halloween

I went out trick or treating with a friend, she lives adjacent to a affluent neighborhood she lured my 8 year old with "Oh you get FULL CANDY BARS in every home"

The homes are 5000-7000 sq ft mansions with two basements and backyard pools and some even had 10 car garages, my friend drove and parked in front of every house (it was too far apart to walk)
They handed out SHITTY CANDY!!

they all belonged to her branch at the church (no wonder she was all "praises" for thei non existent generosity :P)

I mean really tiny bad sour patch type candy, even "I" have better candy to give out

Anyway the kid rounded up 211 pieces of candy with two whole candy bars both from my neighborhood

Last night went to a friend's house was diwali, rained too hard so couldnt do any fireworks

Ate hung out and returned


All the craziness of desi festivals are done

Now I will sit back and watch Thanksgiving madness on TV and coworkers discussing mashed potato recipes (HAR SAAL)

Sour patches!!! Really - even I gave out kit Kats, smarties and aero bars . Big homes and backyard pools I guess doesnt mean anything. Sad! Anyhow, My mother in law gets super excited about Halloween because tonnes of kids come trick or treating. She feels immensely empowered sitting at the door, invitign kids in, giving them candy and wishing them Halloween. She refuses to leave the door until 9:00 lest a kid comes by and leaves before getting candy. But thank goodness it's all over for the time being. You guys will now have thanksgiving isn't it?

Adooorable cutie pies all at the door last night . Always think of the fancy dress competitions bk home that used to get us excited and do the hard work as parents.

Two toddlers accompanied by the parents and the grandparents yday. Their tees read 'back to the 60's'.
One kid had a gramophone horn hanging around him and the other kid had the record player with disc. The boys just took one candy saying Mommy said we should just take one and say Thank you. They don't like tricks . So they are there only for the treat. So cuuute . Acccho...I could hv pinched their cheeks and taken a bite. Sigh... there were quite a few sid, Ved , Nivi and Sahanas. Actually not so many sahana kinds leaky ball of flesh. Even then ... Adooorable all of them.

Had to go offline and completely incommunicado. Real life was tempestuous. Thankfully the storm had been weathered and Nisha await our fix when you are ready to give us threat one 😊
